Shri Vinod Somani is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi. He had
completed his Articles from M/S Thakur Vaidhyanath Aiyer & Co., a leading and reputed firm of Chartered
Accountants and Management Consultants in India. He had also worked for one year as Industrial Trainee with
Indian Oil Corporation, a Public Sector giant and fortune 500 company.
Shri Vinod Somani is a senior partner with M/S K.G. Somani & Co., Chartered Accountants since 1986. He has
also served about 3 years in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He has been Auditing the Accounts of Nationalised Banks,
Insurance Companies, Government and Public Sector Companies.
He is the Technical Reviewer of the Financial Reporting Review Board constituted by the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of India. The Board has been constituted with the objective of reviewing the accounting statements
of selected companies and their compliance with Accounting Standards so as to improve the quality of the work
executed by the members of the profession. He was also the Jt. convener of the Company Law Study Group of
the Northern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Shri Vinod Somani has a sound knowledge of Finance, Companies Act and Tax Laws. Besides Audit he has
handled large number of cases related to sick units before B.I.F.R. Since the firm M/S K.G. Somani & Co. was
registered with S.E.B.I. as Merchant Banker Category IV, he is well versed with the Merchant Banking Activities,
Raising Resources and Analysing the Financial Statements.
The firm K. G. SOMANI & CO. is presently the Statutory Auditor of Power Trading Corporation, Statutory Auditor
of State Bank of India and National Small Industries Corporation.
He has worked as Director in many Public and Private Companies. He is on the Board of Two Mini Ratna
Schedule A Companies (1) Rites Ltd.(2) Western Coalfields Limited.
He is a member of the Task Force for the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of Central Public Sector
Enterprises.
