Research Grants Funded-External 2006 - "Economics and Math Grades 3-5," The WSU Center for Economic Education applied for and received a grant to introduce elementary school teachers to new program materials developed by the National Council on Economic Education, Economics and Math 3-5. The grant provided money for a 1 credit workshop to show teachers how to incorporate economic concepts in their math classes, National Council on Economic Education, ( $1,500). 2006 - "Thinking Globally," The WSU Center for Economic Education applied for and received a grant to introduce elementary, middle and high school teachers to new program materials developed by the National Council on Economic Education, Thinking Globally. The grant provided money for materials (including a CD-ROM), honorariums, lunch and publicity for a 1 credit hour workshop to show teachers how to incorporate international economic concepts in their social sciences, FACS, and math classes. Twenty area teachers participated. The Kansas Council on Economic Education and USD 259 also each contributed approximately $2000 toward scholarships for teachers., National Council on Economic Education, ( $2,000).
