The hockey is pretty amazing – spectators are welcome to watch from 12:15-12:55. The playoffs will take place later in May. Thanks to Clint Hallett for supervising the games. There are still several spaces available for students who will be attending FullTime Kindergarten this fall. The sooner you enroll your child, the better, as staffing decisions are being made soon in preparation for the coming school year. We had over 65 guests representing 12 families along with community members, elders, and School District personnel. Green Kids There is an Environmental Mind Grind event at Aberdeen Mall on Saturday April 28 with 2 teams of 8 students from Haldane that are being sponsored by CSS Grade 12 student and Clean and Green Team member, Chayla Wilcox and her Mom, Cheryl Wilcox. Family and friends are encouraged to go to the event and cheer on the Haldane teams as there are points given for the most enthusiastic cheering squad. Haldane’s 22nd Annual Earth Day Celebration Earth Day 2012 at Haldane will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012. International Earth Day which is celebrated around the world is April 22nd . Our Earth Week of activities runs April 17 to April 20. Everyone is welcome to take part. Jump, jump, jump! Skip, skip, skip! Yes, Haldane, it's almost that time of year again! Our school is taking part in the Jump Rope for Heart event on Friday, June 6th. This fun event gets our kids physically active and raises vital funds to reduce the devastating effects of heart disease and stroke. The students will be participating in fun skipping and jumping challenges. Leading up to event day, kids are encouraged to raise funds and in return earn thank you prizes for their individual fundraising efforts. More information will be coming in a following newsletter. Heritage Fair News! Wednesday, April 18, 2012 The students in our school have been busy preparing for the upcoming school-wide Heritage Fair on Wednesday, April 18 in the Gym – 5:30 – 7:30 pm. This is an excellent opportunity for your students to tap into their imaginations to create something original that shows their pride in the culture and heritage of Aboriginal Peoples. APTN is encouraging students to create a flag that represents all of Canada’s Aboriginal Peoples and illustrates what National Aboriginal Day means to them.
