Mr. Kolvankar is an Oracle Business Intelligence Consultant working with Oracle
Corporation for the last three and a half years with an overall IT work experience of close to
6 years. He has expertise in Oracle’s BI solution offerings like Oracle’s Reporting tools like
Oracle Discoverer 4i, Oracle Reports 9i, BIS 11i, Embedded Data Warehouse (EDW) and
ETL tools like Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB), Oracle Balanced Scorecard (OBSC) and
OLAP products like Oracle Express and Oracle Sales Analyzer (OSA). His experience
includes leading BI Implementation for various Oracle Application functional areas like PO,
SCM, OM, Sales and GL.
He possesses a broad technical experience in design, development and support of Custom
data warehousing solutions and data warehouse migration solution tool kits. He has
experience in using Oracle’s AIM, CDM and DWMFT methodologies, at local and
international projects both in the US and UK.
He has strong technical experience with Oracle Application’s technical architecture and
Oracle tools. By leading various components of projects, he has gained valuable exposure to
the software development life cycle. Apart from implementing DW solutions for clients, he
has also demonstrated expertise in the fields of data mapping, report enhancement, user
training and support.
Owing to his educational mix of technical and Business degrees and his varied experience as
a consultant, he brings a healthy combination of functional and technical skills in developing
data warehouse and information system based solutions. By implementing enterprise-wide
data warehouse and intelligence based reporting applications, he has gained substantive

 BIS-EDW Implementation (Oct 2004 to till date)
Mr Kolvankar is currently doing a BIS/EDW vanilla implementation for a
multinational corporation in the Netherlands.
 Reports 9i project (Aug 2004 to Oct 2004)
Mr. Kolvankar has been involved in the development of Reports 9i reports for a
mutinational corporation in France.
 Informatica to OWB Migration POC (July 2004 to Aug 2004)
Mr. Kolvankar has been involved in an initiative for migrating an Informatica
Repository to OWB. This work involves moving the metadata like source and target
definitions as well as the transformations to OWB. The objective is to come out with an
estimator as well as a toolkit for this migration effort.
 DWMFT Templates Development (June 2004 to July 2004)
Mr. Kolvankar has been involved in the development of DWMFT global templates for
The various stages of the data warehousing life cycle right from requirements gathering to

development to testing. This templates will form the de-facto standards for the Oracle Data
warehousing World
 OBSC Project (May 2004 to June 2004)
Mr. Kolvankar has been involved in the development of Key Performance Areas for
Oracle UK Consulting using Oracle Balanced Scorecard (OBSC).
 Reporting Project (11th Jan, 2003 to May 2004)
Mr. Kolvankar has worked on a Global Financial implementation initiative for a
prestigious investment bank in the UK 2003 as part of the reporting team. He has been
associated with the development, testing, migration, debugging of Reports and ETL using
PL/SQL, OSA, Discoverer 4i (both standard and apps based EUL’s) and Oracle Reports 6i
(standard and apps).
The major achievements on this project have been
 The design and implementation of the OFSA Discoverer VPD security, which has
been, used a benchmark for all other subsequent implementations by other teams
like OFSA as well.
 Implementation of OSA for Europe and Asia.
 Played support role when various locations like Oslo, Luxembourg went live.
 Implemented GL Discoverer Security for various locations.
 Have had the opportunity to work in all Reporting tools in scope for the GFA
project like OSA, Discoverer, and Reports 6i.
Custom Datawarehouse Development (Sept, 2002 till Dec 2002)
Mr. Kolvankar has worked as an onsite co-coordinator for the client McDonalds
(Chicago, USA) for developing a Custom Data warehouse (CDW) for the areas of Human
Capital, Finance, Operations and Supply Chain. The work involved doing custom
development using Oracle Discoverer 4i, Reports 6i, OSA 11i and OWB. The work involved
getting the development in the Offshore team in India and co-coordinating with the Onsite
team for developing and testing the reports, which are built on Oracle Financials Services
Application and General Ledger.
Custom Datawarehouse Development (July, 2002 till Oct 2002)
Mr. Kolvankar has also worked as an offshore co-coordinator for the client Alcoa
(Pittsburgh, USA) for developing a Custom Data warehouse (CDW) for the areas of
Purchasing. The work involved developing custom Reports using Oracle Discoverer 4i
offshore in India.
EDW (Embedded Data Warehouse) (Sept 2001 till June 2002)
As a Oracle BIS – EDW consultant for an on-site implementation, Mr. Kolvankar worked
as a Discoverer 4i Administrator and Development lead for client Agilent (California,
USA) using Discoverer 4i on Oracle e-Business Suite 11.5.6 (HP-UNIX) using the BIS /
EDW 3.1.1 framework for a period of almost a year onsite in the US.
EDW customization was done in the areas of Order Management and Supply Chain
Intelligence for mapping certain additional requirements in the Credit Analysis and Quote to
Cash Business Cycles by creating Custom concurrent Load and collection Programs. This
helped capture data, which was not provided by the normal EDW implementation for Order
Management, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Intelligence.
Mr. Kolvankar contributed in performance tuning of the developed Reports and also
developed the Support Document, which would help the support team in resolution of the
support issues. Mr.Kolvankar was also involved in the application upgrades / patching work.

After the system went live he also contributed by providing support to solve the queries of
the End User. He designed security for the architecture by creating Custom EDW
Responsibilities after the project roll out and giving selective access to people and giving
access to people on the Personal Home Page.
EDW – SAP Integration Initiative (Feb 2001 till Aug 2001)
Mr. Kolvankar, as a technical consultant was involved in design, development and delivering
the solution for Oracle UK. The work involved using the SAP Integrator of OWB to connect
to SAP R/3 and import the SAP metadata and build an ETL process to extract master and
transactional data from SAP and Oracle’s iProcurement and build a warehouse using EDW
framework. He also played a key role in the functional mapping of SAP Procurement
functionality to that of Oracle’s Purchasing Modules and developed re-usable mapping
components. Used Oracle iProcurement 11.5.3, SAP R/3 4.6B, OWB 2.1.1.34 and
Discoverer 3i. Mr. Kolvankar designed at security of the entire architecture.

Oracle Discoverer and Oracle Reports
Mr. Kolvankar has been working on various projects as a Discoverer 3i/4i Administrator and
Developer .He has been involved in making EUL modifications to the End User Layer and
developing the reports in the User Edition .He has also been involved in developing reports
in Oracle Reports 6i.He has even tested the completed the reports onsite in his role as a
onsite co-coordinator.
Express (Jan 2000 till Jan 2001)
Mr. Kolvankar was involved in various projects for data mart implementations which
involved doing system studies, requirements gathering from the end user of the system,
Proposing an architecture for the data mart, actually implementing, web enabling and
migrating (higher versions) the data marts for the client Hindustan Levers Ltd (a sister
concern of Unilever, UK) and actually providing training to end Users using Express as
back end OSA as front end.
OPAS
As an Oracle OLAP consultant, Mr. Kolvankar worked on a project (OPAS) that involved
development of an off-the-shelf Business Intelligence (BI) tool for purchase intelligence
domain of Oracle E-Business suite. This BI solution was an internal ‘Proof of Concept’
sponsored by Oracle SSI. OPAS is packaging of a predefined data warehouse, data mart
schema plus a number of Oracle Sales Analyzer 6.3.2 (OSA 11i) reports. The OPAS Data
mart was running on Oracle Express 6.3.1 and was built by extracting data from the EDW
3.0.1 framework. Oracle Sales Analyzer (OSA), with Relational Access Manager (RAM)
was used to read the EDW data. He was instrumental in demonstrating in this project
(OPAS), an out-of-the-box purchasing analytic OLAP solution, leveraging all the benefits of
OLAP together with the key functionality of purchase intelligence of EDW and availability
of business measures like, potential savings, contract amount, leakage amount and total
purchasing expenditure. He was involved in estimating scope, gathering requirements,
defining the packaging of the solution, mapping EDW data to the key indicators (measures).
Workflow and System Study Consultant (June 1999 till Dec 1999)
Mr. Kolvankar was involved in a couple of system Study projects for the client
BPL mobile (telecom industry) for the purpose of Business Process Re-engineering and
suggesting to them technology to suit their needs.Another such project was done for the
client Chaitra Leo Burnett in Mumbai (Media Buying Industry). He was also a workflow
consultant for the client Motorola providing technical consultancy in the project.

He was also involved in doing a Business Process Re-engineering study for the
client AbuDhabi Commercial Bank (India) as part of his Summer project of his MBA
program.
