New Business Ventures
o Strategically fit forward and backward
integrations in processing and trading.
A robust model with systems in place was
developed and reinstated local buying of raw
cashew nut after a gap of five years (with the
desired net contribution), thereby reducing
the dependence on imports.
Over 100% increase in volumes (procurement
of Cashew Kernels), by identifying different
sourcing centres. ( Apart from Kerala- centres
in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa
were identified)
Attained a positive impact of 0.3 M $ NC
through forward positions (long/ short calls)
taken in the local market.
Initiated the desk for forward trading in
India. Ten percent of total volumes were
through this desk, also thereby reducing the
export exposure to that extent.
Established a separate trading desk to tap the
institution segment, to have constant
engagement with vendors and for continuous
business relationship which aided in doubling
the volumes.
Established CNF model business network in
major cashew trading centres (Delhi, Mumbai
and Ahmadabad)
Enhanced the net contribution from lower
grades by twenty percent by identifying and
targeting specific selling centres in the
country.

Led the initiative for development and
implementation of a System for monitoring
the efficiency of each factory.

Successfully acquired factories in TN which
had lower than average fixed cost of
operations.

Maintained the relative cost advantage in the
Organisation vis-à-vis other processing
centres via better overheads management and
spinning off high cost units.

Led the Tamil Nadu team for obtaining
Kosher Certification.

Designed and executed a full scale project for
value addition of lower grade. (Process
involved identifying the machinery, layout
design, construction of infrastructure, costing
etc). The same had a positive effect of 0.25 M
$.
