GENERAL EDUCATION GOALS ADDRESSED IN THE COURSE:
#3 – To develop the ability to solve problems by collecting, organizing and
evaluating information. Students collect, organize and evaluate laboratory
data on themselves. For example, blood pressure and body fat composition.
Once the information is collected, organized and evaluated the student puts a
plan together on how to manage their blood pressure and to possibly lower
their body fat percentage.
#9 – To develop global perspective on problems and issues that humankind
faces, and to explore solutions which are morally, socially, economically,
politically and ecologically sound. Discussions of the morality and ethics of
the Health Care System. The fact that good social rapport with your nurse
or physician can allow a patient to recover from an illness faster. Ecological
or environmental concerns and their effect on our health.
#10 – To develop the understanding of health and well-being necessary to
confront the challenges facing individuals, families and communities. All
issues of health and well-being are directed to the student in a manner that
encourages them to apply the information to themselves, their present and
future families as well as the community.
Course Standards: Any date you are unable to take an exam, you should schedule
it to be taken in advance. Emergency make-ups should be taken up with the
instructor in a timely fashion. The allowance of make-ups is done on an individual
basis. Make-ups are not always allowed. Quizzes can not be made up.
Class participation is strongly encouraged. Tardiness is strongly discouraged and
may result in academic penalty. No food in class. No tobacco products, chew or
otherwise.

student may withdraw or be withdrawn from a course with the instructor assigning

withdrawn after this date, an "F" will be assigned. The Add/Drop/Withdrawal

the Administration Building. Return the completed and signed form to the
