The SCPS PTA Quiz went well, congratulations to the winning team , and the event
made £800. The end of term discos were also popular and made £582.
Bag2School Tuesday 13th March 9am
There will be a Bag2School collection on 13th March, the bags will be distributed this
week so start collecting, spring clean your wardrobes and make money for your school.
We are paid by the tonne so the more you donate, the more money we get. Bags can
left under the junior playground covered area from the afternoon of Monday 12th.
KS1 Film Show “Cloudy with a chance of meatballs” Fri 16th Mar
Children in Kites, Yr1 and Yr2 are invited to watch the film “Cloudy with a chance of
meatballs” in the School Hall from 3:15 to 5:00pm. The film is free but a small charge
of £1 will be made to cover drinks and a snack. Parents do not need to collect their
children at 3:15pm, they will be taken into the Hall straight from class. If you would
like your child to come please fill in the form at the end of this newsletter and bring it
back to the school office (with the money) by Wednesday 14th March.
Bike Sale Saturday 17th March
There will be a second hand bike sale on Saturday 17th March in the Junior playground
from 1pm to 3pm. Bring along your outgrown bikes for sale and it’s a great opportunity
to buy a new (pre-loved) bike so you can join us “On Your Bike”. No charge to sell, but
donations welcome to Sue Ryder. Refreshments will also be available.
On Your Bike Sunday 22nd April
Don’t forget to register for the 6th annual 'On Your Bike' event. Register before 9pm
on 29th March and be entered for a prize draw to win a new bike (value up to £300)
kindly donated by A W Cycles. The website is www.onyourbikesonningcommon.co.uk
which has all the up to date information and registration details.
There are three cycle routes to choose from : 5.5 miles, 12 miles or 20 miles, and for
those unable to cycle on the roads there will be a supervised playground cycle. Why not
also join in the new 'On Your Feet' event. Choose between two fun Treasure Hunts
around Sonning Common ( 1 mile and 3 miles). If you're really keen there will be time to
do both - On Your Bike, and On Your Feet!
Also we need volunteers to run the playground cycle and for marshalling on the route
(to make sure people go the right way) . If you can help with marshalling or for the
playground or have any queries please contact Penny Snowden by email

EduVoice Surveys
Our School is participating in the EduVoice fundraising programme, it does not require
you to spend any money or buy anything. Parents and children raise money, just by
giving their opinions via on line surveys. The more people we have taking part, the more
money the school will raise. To register yourself and invite other people you think may

Summer Fair Help needed
We need some lovely stalls at the summer fair so if anyone is interested in running a
stall at the fair to sell jam, jumpers or jewellery etc, or know of anyone that would like
details, please contact Pauline Jones on jones16@btinternet.com
Also PTA representatives will be asking for help running lots of other stalls and events
so please if you can help, even if its just for half an hour, we’d love to hear from you.
Matched Funding
Do you work for a company that offers matched funding for charities? If so have you
thought that SCPS could benefit? We recently received £350 from Vodafone in
relation to money raised at the Christmas Fair. If you think your company could do this
then please get in touch with Darren Buchan (DarrenBuchan@aol.com)
