The main purpose of this class is for the students to improve their spelling abilities in American English. The course
teaches the students how to avoid misspellings by recognizing spelling errors quickly. This semester is broken into 19 weeks. If
unexpected breaks or holidays occur, then the lesson plans will be revised in order to accommodate for these. This will be done at
the discretion of the teaching staff at Tainan Municipal Chongming Elementary School. Homework may be assigned each week.
Extra homework may be provided at the discretion of the teacher. Practice Book will be collected at the conclusion of each lesson
for marking and returned before the end of the week in order to allow for homework and revision to be done. Grading will be in
accordance to that set out in the Teacher’s Handbook as supplied by Tainan Municipal Chongming Elementary School (50% class
participation, quizzes, homework, Practice Book, 50% midterm and final).
