Purpose of Post




To support the Head of New Business and Corporate Relations Managers in the solicitation
of new global, international and national partnerships;
To cultivate UNICEF UK’s participation in multi-country partnerships originating outside of
the UK
To maximise the potential of securing new partnerships through taking responsibility for
specific projects, as assigned by account managers
To support the Corporate Relations Managers in supporting fundraising initiatives with
potential corporate partners
Background
UNICEF UK's Fundraising team is responsible for raising funding (from
non-statutory sources) to finance UNICEF's long-term development and
emergency relief work with children. Fundraising comprises of five
teams: Corporate Fundraising, Direct Marketing, Major Donors and
Trusts, Public Fundraising and Trading.
The Corporate Fundraising team aims to increase support from the
commercial sector, and has been very successful with significant longterm partnerships with Barclays, P&G, Starwood Hotels, Unilever,
easyJet, Manchester United and FTSE among others.
There are 20+ people currently in the Corporate Fundraising team,
including dedicated Partnership Specialists, New Business Development
Managers and support positions. The team has recently expanded and
future growth will be driven by increasing the number of long-term
partnerships between the corporate sector and UNICEF, plus maximising
existing partnerships.
Section 3
Duties and Responsibilities
This role sits within the new business development team and provides support across the team
whose annual income target is £3.5m pa.

To support in securing significant long term global, international and national partnerships,
including developing compelling proposals, presentations and supporting documentation.

To be the lead on digital communications on behalf of the New Business team.

To cultivate UNICEF UK’s participation in multi-country partnerships originating outside of
the UK;

To liaise with fundraising departments in other UNICEF offices globally to support the coordination of new corporate partnerships, and with UNICEF offices in New York and Geneva.

To liaise with other internal departments, for example media, high profile supporters, internal
design and external suppliers to support in gaining new business.

To lead on specific projects for the Corporate Fundraising team.

To co-ordinate the New Business Team’s participation in and hosting of events.

To support the execution of the New Business Team business to business networking and
profile raising strategy

To support and co-ordinate an appropriate response and communication to new corporate
prospects in the event of humanitarian emergencies

To provide corporate advice and support to other departments within UNICEF UK and work
on cross departmental projects as required

To work closely within UNICEF UK and UNICEF International field offices to identify suitable
projects and initiatives for funding

To work within UNICEF’s International Corporate screening policy and processes for
Corporate alliances

To work with UNICEF international field offices to organise field trips overseas for corporate
partners, where appropriate

To maintain appropriate contact records
