The Universe and the Psyche by www.aum-pi.com The Universe and the Psyche Preface A simple cosmic riddle – if we assume the background fields of the universe are space-time-gravity and primal matter then how does a ‘bucket of cosmic mud’ create and sustain a complex universe of consciousness, how did it create us? With this riddle we begin a journey into the universe and the psyche, we begin an exploration of the two primal creation models proposed by the greatest minds from the past five thousand years, the minds of science such as Kepler, Mendeleev, Tesla, Ramanujan and Gell-Mann and the minds of mysticism such as Fu Hsi, Nu Gua, Gautama Buddha, Ramanamaharshi and Nisargadatta. About the Author The author of this book, after the obligatory journeys in India, spent a further two decades pursuing his interests in science, philosophy and mysticism. This book then is the product of these investigations. The author currently lives in Australia. © www.aum-pi.com, 2010 Edition 1 Email: info@aum-pi.com (Note: some images in this book have been sourced from the internet and are assumed to be free from copyright.) Chapter 1 – The Introduction In Europe, in the year 1600AD, Giordano Bruno was burnt at the stake for proposing that every star was a sun with its own planetary system and that the earth was not the centre of the universe. Bruno was sacrificed because he had challenged the orthodox thinking of his time and he had threatened to reduce the ‘cosmic rooster’ of the human ego into a pile of discarded feathers in a forgotten corner of the cosmos. Yet two thousand years before Giordano Bruno the ancient Greek Eratosthenes had also gazed upon the heavens and in a remarkable act of insight he not only deduced that the earth was round but he also measured its circumference, with remarkable accuracy, using a differential of light shadows in two water wells 800kms apart. Both of these men were struggling with the first great cosmic riddle of appearance – ‘that the earth appears to be flat, the sun to orbit the earth and the earth to be the centre of the universe.’ This riddle of appearance captivated us for millennia but we now accept the truth that we dwell upon a round earth orbiting a sun in a universe that is billions of years in age and hundreds of millions of light years across. We have attained a revolution in cosmic perception. However, some of the greatest minds from the last five thousand years, including the mystics from the Himalayan plateau, China and Egypt have suggested that there are a further three great riddles of cosmic appearance currently hidden from our general perception. They also propose that the solution to these three riddles will cost our ego structure dearly, that they will demand a greater and greater price in ‘ego blood.’ The mystic’s three riddles of appearance, plus the fourth riddle of the ‘flat earth’ can be called the four great ‘elephant traps’ of perception because they are vast in size, cosmic in dimension. When entering them our first response is often to simply say, ‘wot elephant trap?’ It is only when we discover ourselves limited by vast cosmic walls and mired neck deep in elephant dung that we say in disbelief, ‘Duh! This is an elephant trap!’ What then are these four cosmic ‘elephant traps,’ the four riddles of appearance, the four riddles which lie hidden within four simple statements? The first riddle of appearance, as we have already seen, states: ‘the earth is flat, the sun orbits the earth and the earth is the centre of the universe.’ The second riddle of appearance states: ‘matter creates consciousness.’ The third riddle of appearance states: ‘the ego is separate from the surrounding universe.’ The fourth riddle of appearance states: ‘the Eternal is simply the three dimensions of consciousness, those of deep sleep, dream and waking.’ The ancient mystics also suggested that these riddles of appearance only arise when we move outwardly from the Eternal and identify with the personal self dwelling within the three dimensions of consciousness. It is an identity then which only arises when we leave the state of ‘I AM.’ When we stare at the last three riddles of appearance proposed by the mystics we can see that we are entering the realms of philosophy and the ‘big questions,’ we are encountering the nature of the universe and the perceiving self, the realms of the catacombs of the cosmos, the ‘lamp of mind’ by which we journey and the ‘Self which holds the lamp aloft.’ Now there are many who say that no-one knows the nature of the universe, it is too big for our minds to grasp, the questions are impossible to answer, so why bother? They say, ‘just live your lives like shadows upon the face of the earth, let death swallow you when the winds of fate call.’ But what if the cosmic questions have been answered, the maps created in great detail by minds which have gone thousands of years before, just as the ancient Greek Eratosthenes measured the circumference of the earth millennia before Galileo took his first breath. Would we not be fools if we did not at least consider the templates of knowledge which have been created by ancient minds such as Lao Tzu, Fu Hsi, Nu Gua and Gautama Buddha? Templates such as the Taoist Yin-Yang symbol and the octet structure of the Ba Gua. Or templates created by the ancient mystics of the Himalayan plateau, China, Egypt and Greece such as the AUM and Pi symbols. Or even the teachings of such modern mystics as Ramanamaharshi, Nisargadatta and Krishnamurti for if we are simply trying to recreate the wheel we are going to be humiliated by the ancient gaze of the ‘Eratosthenes’ of history who lit the way for our journey only to find that we were incapable of understanding their truth. For upon investigation we can discover that there are common threads running from the mystics from five thousand years ago to some of the greatest scientific minds of our current age. Five millennia ago the mystics proposed that there is an octet structure to our universe in the realms of consciousness, psyche, matter and biology. An octet structure to our universe is also proposed by such great scientific minds as Kepler, Newlands, Mendeleev, Tesla, Ramanujan and Gell-Mann and they have inspired discoveries in the scientific realms of the periodic table of elements, the molecular structure, the sub-particle realm of chromadynamics and superstring theory. In China five thousand years ago the mystics Fu Hsi and Nu Gua created the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching, a perfect mirror for the 64 codons of DNA, the source of all complex biological life. Amazingly, the symbol they used for the I Ching is also a photographic replica of the DNA spiral when viewed under an electron microscope. In the seventeenth century the German mathematician Gottfried Leibniz, co-founder of calculus with Isaac Newton was inspired by the binary structure of the I Ching to create the mathematical basis for computer science, five thousand years after the I Ching was created. We also know that the ancient Greek Pythagoras was enchanted by the ‘harmony of the spheres’, by the orbits of our solar system and his thoughts are mirrored by the modern Russian astronomer Molchanov who has proposed that our solar system is a ‘quantum-tuned resonant structure with Jupiter as the conductor of the celestial symphonies.’ John Martineau in his intriguing book ‘A Little Book of Coincidence’ also describes the elaborate and beautiful geometric orbits of the planets, so stunning that he can parody the possibility that they are created simply by chance by using the word ‘coincidence’ in the title of his book. Modern science also proposes that the physical appearance of our universe comprises less than 5% of the total universe, with the remainder appearing as the background fields of dark matter and dark energy. These realms are bewildering for they are nonbaryonic, that is not made from protons and neutrons, the physical stuff of our universe, so the names they are described by appear like the ancient term ‘terra nullius’ or ‘unknown lands’ upon the ancient maps. These hidden dimensions infer that western science has lost the ‘elephant of the universe,’ as if our scientists are now staring at the fabled ‘breaths of dragons’ which many myths say are the causal forces for our universe. The ancient mystics have mirrored these dark matter and dark energy discoveries of western science. Indeed for five thousand years they have proposed that our physical universe in the waking dimension of consciousness is only a tiny part of the whole and for them the background fields of the universe will comprise 97.959183675…% of the total universe. They further propose that these background fields are consciousness and that they are woven from 31 fundamental components. The ancient mystics also described our universe as a creation of light and a branch of modern cosmic physics, Quantum Information Theory, suggests that the basis for our universe is not atoms and threads of DNA but quantum templates of information which tell an atom how to form and a DNA helix how to spiral but as to who wrote these templates and in what dimension they exist this branch of science remains mute. The ancient mystics did not stop there. Five millennia ago they also proposed the input formula for what we would now call the cosmic fractal, the formula of the ‘law of 3 and 7’ which proposes that ‘three primal powers will move through seven steps’ to create octaves of creation. The mystics also described the source of the primal duality, Pi, Phi and the Fibonacci series in mathematics. They described the structure of the psyche and the ‘theory of everything.’ They described the primal motivation for creation and the psychic quest to merge with the dimension of Eternal Awareness, the quest for diamond-mind. This book then is an exploration of the last three great riddles of cosmic appearance, the riddles that matter appears to create consciousness, that the ego appears to be separate from the surrounding universe and that the Eternal appears to be simply the three dimensions of consciousness. In this way this book is an exploration of the universe and the nature of the perceiving self. We can also suggest, from the mystics’ viewpoint, that if we simply focus upon the physical appearance of the universe and forget the nature of the perceiving consciousness that we will be bound within a ‘flat-earth’ perception of our universe, entombed within the vaults of matter, left struggling with the greatest enigmas of our age. What is consciousness? Does consciousness even exist or is it simply a cosmic hallucination created by complex chemistry? What is more real, the physical universe or the nature of the perceiving mind? And if we deny the existence of consciousness, if we decide it is just too hard and focus simply upon the study of chemistry, biology and physics then perhaps we will become deaf to the wisdom of the ancient and modern mystics. We will be left trapped within a nonsensical riddle straight from a mad hatters’ tea party – if the background fields of the universe are space-time-gravity and primal matter then how does a ‘bucket of cosmic mud’ create and sustain a complex universe of consciousness? How did it create you? This book is also based around three simple images created by the author – the images of the universe, the psyche and the ‘theory of everything.’ The Universe The Psyche The ‘Theory of Everything’ These three images contain the essence of all that is presented within this book and with these three images we have the power to describe the universe and to reveal a myriad of its tapestries. Perhaps it seems extraordinary to suggest that we can express the primal nature of our universe and our psyches using only three simple images but with these three images we can describe the nature of the witnessing dimension of the Eternal and the ‘genie's bottle’ of consciousness woven from the three dimensions of deep sleep, dream and waking. With three images we can join such disparate universal philosophies as Animism, Plato, Zen Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Indian yoga, the hero's journey of Joseph Campbell and western science. With three images we can answer some of the most profound riddles of our age – such as the problem of the galaxies forming after the 'big bang' from the initial 'singularity' and the problems of evolution and complex organs arising from 'blind' matter. With three images we can discover that there are profound connections between the speed of light, the structure of our solar system, the conscious vibrations of the human psyche and the sound-tone nature of music. With three images we can suggest that the 8 cycles per minute pulse of our cranio-sacral or spinal minds is connected to the 79Hz vibration of our REM sleep and the 7.83Hz vibration of the Schumann Resonance within our planet's ionosphere, resonances which create a mystical conduit for humanity to ascend through the surrounding fields of cosmic mind. (Note: one cycle per second equals one Hertz or 1Hz.) With three images we can describe the primal mystics’ model of creation, a model which requires 12 powers of the Eternal, 31 powers of consciousness, the fractal nature, the cosmic law of ‘3 and 7,’ the four primary riddles of appearance and the five chains of consciousness to create a play of identity within a vast cosmic theatre of Eternal Awareness. With three images we can describe the game of life and the nature of relationship and we can describe the journeys to wisdom-heart and the dissolution of the identity with the ego. With three images we can depict the mystical journey of 'Alice' as she returns towards the holism of her own 'looking-glass' of consciousness. Chapter 2 - Two Creation Models We can focus now upon the second of the four great riddles of cosmic appearance which lies hidden within the simple statement: ‘matter appears to create consciousness.’ We can explore this appearance with the medieval riddle of the ‘mud and the frog.’ In the middle-ages a group of scientists watched frogs crawling from the mud and believed mud was spontaneously turning into frogs, that matter was spontaneously creating consciousness. However our modern science teaches us this process takes billions of years, with atoms joining to form molecules, proteins, cells and complex organisms through vast evolutionary periods. This modern perspective however does not change the basic medieval premise that 'mud creates frogs,’ that matter creates consciousness and it still leaves us with the peculiar appearance of 'thinking mud.’ This riddle of the ‘mud and the frog’ also confronts us with a primal question, ‘are the background fields of our universe matter or consciousness?’ Here is a quote from the physicist Paul Davies from his book ‘The Big Questions’ as he attempts to solve the riddles of matter and consciousness by discussing whether an intelligent designer for the universe is required. 'Well, you are absolutely right that this argument was demolished by Darwin's theory of evolution, because there is a very good mechanism namely, variation and natural selection that can produce the appearance of design even where there is no design. So if you ask me about features, such as the human eye, which seems so well adapted to its purpose, I wouldn't have said that, as a specific entity, the eye is an example of design. We can understand how, if you have an ensemble of competing organisms, and competing species, then that competition can lead to the emergence of very clever-looking organs. I accept that Darwinian picture.' The greatest minds of humanity, the greatest scientists and mystics have worked on these riddles of matter and consciousness for thousands of years and they have created two possible fundamental answers, the two mother lodes of all universe philosophy, the two great primal models of creation. For simplicity we can call these two creation models the ‘fourblock’ model of matter proposed by western science and the ‘genie’s bottle’ model of consciousness proposed by the mystics. We can also suggest that our true education, our true knowledge of ourselves and our universe does not begin until we are presented with these two fundamental models of creation so that we can make a conscious choice, so that we can open our minds to the truth of our universe. Historically the proponents of these two models have often stood in deep antithesis to one another. On the matter model side stand those remembered primarily as scientists and mathematicians such as Euclid, Archimedes, Eratosthenes, Hipparchus, Copernicus, Brahe, Galileo, Newton, Darwin, Maxwell, Lyell, Watt, Faraday and Einstein. On the consciousness side stand the great lineages of the mystics such as Lao-Tzu, Chuang-Tzu, Gautama Buddha, Socrates, Heraclitus, Bodhidharma, Milarepa, Rumi, Kabir, Krishnamurti, Gurdieff, Ramanamaharshi and Nisargadatta. So let us begin with the first creation model, the four-block model of matter proposed by western science. In this model the essence of our universe can be described using only four simple building blocks. The first block is the space-time-gravitational vault, the second block is primal matter. We can shrink these two blocks to a tiny point of no-thingness and then explode them as the ‘big bang,’ the source of the appearance of our universe. The third block is the underlying physical laws such as the ‘tendency to complexity’ and natural selection. The fourth block is the appearance of consciousness arising finally as a ‘hallucination’ created by complex chemistry. In this model the background fields of the universe are spacetime-gravity and primal matter, including their associated realms of dark matter and dark energy, realms which comprise more than 95% of our universe. (We can note in this creation model that we are using the term ‘space-time-gravity’ as a generic term to describe all the underlying components of the universe which can be defined as neither consciousness nor Awareness.) The second creation model, created by the mystics, is the ‘genie’s bottle’ model of creation. This model proposes that in an Eternal dimension of Pure Light and Awareness there arises a vault of consciousness woven from the three dimensions of deep sleep, dream and waking, with the reflected light of our physical universe appearing within the dimension of waking consciousness. This physical universe contains the reflected light of the personal mind and creates a cosmic riddle or koan, ‘how can the reflected light of the ego find the Sun which lights all, yet cannot be seen?’ In this model the three dimensions of consciousness appear as descending octaves of one another, with each octave containing seven internal steps so that deep sleep dimension appears as a realm seven times as powerful as dream dimension which in turn is seven times as powerful as waking dimension. This means that our physical universe in the waking dimension of consciousness will comprise only 1/49 or 2.040418163265...% of the universe. These two creation models, the ‘four-block’ model of matter and the ‘genie’s bottle’ model of consciousness are perhaps the greatest creations of the human mind from the past five thousand years. The two models represent the two fundamental ways of looking at our universe and they are the two mother lodes of all philosophy, religion and science. Which then of these two great creation models reflects the facts for our universe the best? And does humanity know of any other plausible creation models which are not just simply variations of these two fundamental models of creation? In response to the existence of these two creation models the author of this book proposes a simple ‘$AUD10,000 Universe Challenge.’ To collect the prize just be the first person to describe a plausible creation theory which is not simply a variation of one of the two models presented above, or through simple logic, prove to the author that the matter creation model fits the facts of our universe better than the consciousness model. To help us with this ‘$10,000 Universe Challenge’ we will now explore in detail the two great creation models of matter and consciousness. Chapter 3 – Exploring the Matter Model Science has sought to prove its ‘four-block’ model of creation by examining the universe in intricate detail and it has found surprising patterns within its data. On a biological level science has discovered that the myriad forms of life are based upon a biological language of 8 by 8 or 64 codons of DNA. There is also a second language, the RNA creation sequence which uses 20 biological amino acids, plus a stop and start codon in each sequence, to create protein structures which turn the templates of DNA into physical life forms. It is possible then, on a basic level, to say that biological life is based upon two languages of 64 and 22 letters, a premise proposed by Michael Hayes in his book ‘High Priests, Quantum Genes.’ Further, on the molecular level science has discovered the elements of the periodic table are based upon seven families, with their properties changing every eighth element. On an atomic level the electrons move around the nucleus in seven shells, forming in octet patterns, with a maximum of eight electrons in the outer valence shell. Beneath the periodic table of elements lies the chromadynamic level of the sub-particles. This level has been called the ‘eightfold-way’ by the noble laureate Gell-Mann because the sub-particles arrange themselves into families with eight members. Eight baryon particle/waves form as an octet, eight pions join as another and eight vector-mesons as a third. These particle waves in turn are made from three smaller particles, triplets called quarks which are woven from superstrings made simply from space. It is proposed that this fundamental space is limited to 64 degrees of movement. It seems then, surprisingly, that our universe is woven from mathematical repetitions of the numbers 3, 7, 8 and 64. Science has also discovered that in a high energy plasma field a single quanta – that is light plus information – through looping interactions with charged particles can create a trillion electrons with the weight of a billion hydrogen atoms. In this way all matter appears to be simply the creation products of light quanta. In these sub-particle quantum realms electrons can appear as a cloud woven from an infinite number of possible electrons which then act together as if they share a single mind. It is a realm where photons can act at a distance and appear in two or more states at any one time, where the universe is in communication with itself even over vast cosmic distances as if time and space no longer exist. It is a realm where our universe appears to be simply confined waves upon an ocean of unfathomable depths. In a new branch of physics called Quantum Information Theory the basis for our universe is no longer matter and energy but information which tells an atom how to form and a DNA helix to spiral. However, in which dimension these parchments of information exist and as to who wrote them this branch of science remains mute for in these realms our seemingly solid universe becomes little more than a strange mirage blown through the hookah pipe of a character from ‘Alice in Wonderland.’ On this quantum level our dilemmas seem to be the same dilemmas that we would experience if we were characters within one of our movies who developed the self-awareness to examine our movie nature. We would then discover that our reality was simply a bewildering mirage of flickering light moving in random and chaotic fashion, with no causality, nor prediction of position. It would be a strange cosmic sorcery created from an unknown dimension, trapping us within a prison of perception, unable to cross the abyss of the dark theatre to find the source of the light which creates our world. On all these aspects of matter and quanta it seems that science has run into a vortex of dilemmas. The old Newtonian model of creation has collapsed, the ‘four-block’ model no longer describes the nature of our universe. Is it possible then that the second creation model of consciousness can explain these cosmic appearances, even though it is a model which is now at least five thousand years old? Do the cosmic solutions now lie with the ancient ‘genie’s bottle’ model of consciousness? Chapter 4 - Mystics' Model Expanded The mystics agree with the scientists and their descriptions of the quantum information field but when the mystics travel beyond this realm they diverge from the ‘four-block’ model of matter and ascend into their vaults of consciousness, ascend into a model which can be called the ‘genies bottle’ model of creation. This model suggests that in a pure dimension of Eternal Light there appears a vault of consciousness, perhaps best described as a ‘genie's bottle’ which is woven from the three dimensions of deep sleep, dream and waking, with the reflected light of our universe appearing within. In this model the background fields of our universe are consciousness and it is consciousness which creates the appearance of matter. The model also proposes a primal koan or riddle for our universe, ‘how can the reflected light of the ego find the Sun which Lights All, yet cannot be seen?’ We can look at this ‘genie's bottle’ creation model from the perspectives of seven of the world’s philosophies. Firstly, Plato suggested that all we perceive is simply a shadow play in a cave, a house of reflections, with the creating light behind us. We can see this is a good description of the ‘genie’s bottle’ model of creation. Secondly, Animism describes all things in the universe as having consciousness or spirit. Thirdly, Tibetan Buddhism describes the death process as ‘the earth aspect returns to water, water to fire, fire to air and air into the darkness. Then one travels through the Rigpa. If one has sufficient merit one passes through the transparent film into the Great Luminosity.’ This description of earth to ether is simply the reverse process of the creation chain of the 'big bang.’ The Rigpa is mind, the waters of consciousness. The transparent film is the vessel of the ‘genie's bottle.’ The Great Luminosity is the Light of the Eternal. Fourthly, Zen Buddhism and a mystical riddle. ‘A goose is hatched within a bottle. In time it grows. How then does one release the goose without breaking the bottle?’ The goose is the personal self growing within the womb of consciousness, seeking at last to merge into the Eternal. To accomplish this it must recognize its pure nature was never imprisoned in the first place. The appearance of the self within the bottle is simply the reflected Light of the Eternal Nature. This recognition is the awakening. Fifthly, Indian yoga. ‘Firstly one focuses one's self upon image or deity. Then in time the sense of self is lost, only deity remains. Then deity too is lost, there is simply void. Then at last there is union with the Beyond.’ This is union with waking dimension, then dream dimension, then deep sleep dimension, then the fourth dimension of the Eternal. Sixthly, the hero's journey of Joseph Campbell describes the progression from ego-centred consciousness to the union with the divine. It is the journey within the ‘genie's bottle.’ Finally, western science has discovered matter is not real in our usual perception; it is more like a multitude of particles, perhaps woven from superstrings, in turn woven from eleven dimensions spun from a mathematical point of no-thingness. In other words the universe becomes an appearance, an illusory reality. Perhaps something within a ‘genie's bottle?’ In ancient India the ‘genie’s bottle’ model was depicted by the symbol Aum, representing the three dimensions of consciousness, with the inflexion above symbolising the hidden fourth dimension of the Eternal. The dimensions of consciousness in this model appear as octaves of one another, with each octave containing seven internal steps so that deep sleep dimension is seven times as powerful as dream and dream is seven times as powerful as waking. Waking dimension and the physical universe will then comprise only 100/49 or 2.0408163265...% of the universe, with the remainder becoming the 97.9591836735...% of the universe known to science as Dark Matter and Dark Energy. Deep Sleep + Dream + Waking = 100% of the universe of consciousness. Dream + Waking = 100/7 = 14.285714285...% of the universe. Waking = 100/49 = 2.0408163265...% of the universe. Deep Sleep and Dream (or Dark Matter/Energy) = 100 - 100/49 = 97.9591836735...% of the universe. The mystics have also mapped the powers of consciousness which create the three dimensions of deep sleep, dream and waking. Five thousand years ago the Chinese mystics Fu Hsi and Nu Gua proposed the Taoist symbol of the Yin/Yang which depicts the universal duality. When this Yin/Yang polarity is woven to the three primal creation powers it creates the eight trigrams of the Ba Gua, the seed formula for the universe. We can note that the Ba Gua contains the Fibonacci series of 1,1,2,3,5,8,13.. and its implicit Phi ratio which are two of the greatest mathematical building blocks for the universe. (From the One arises the Two. The One plus the Two becomes the Three. The Three plus the Two becomes the Five. The Five plus the Three becomes the Eight. The Eight plus the Five becomes the Thirteen… creating the Fibonacci sequence 1,1,2,3,5,8,13..) This Ba Gua formula in turn flowers into the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching. This I Ching structure mirrors the 64 codons of DNA. Both of these templates are based upon polarity, the I Ching upon the polar aspects of Yin/Yang, DNA upon the plus and minus threads of the double helix. The two three-line hexagrams of the I Ching also have the same tri-part structure as the DNA codons. In this way the I Ching suggests the structure of the quantum mind and the DNA codons the templates of physical form. In ancient Egypt the Ba Gua was depicted as the ‘law of three and seven,’ a law which states that ‘three creating powers will move through seven steps’ to create octaves of manifestation, with each eighth step in turn becoming the first step in a higher or lower octave. Three consecutive overlapping octaves create a template of 22 letters, a template we can describe as a triple-creation codon, a term first suggested by the author Michael Hayes in his book ‘High Priests, Quantum Genes.’ In ancient Greece the three consecutive octaves were known as Pi. We often use the Pi value of 22/7 in geometric calculations that is 22 notes over 7 steps within an octave - but as each of the 22 letters varies in value, like the notes within our musical octaves, then together these letters create the transcendental Pi number of 3.14159265… This triple-creation codon of Pi is far more than an intriguing number, in reality it is the source for our entire universe, it is the input formula for the cosmic fractal. If we imagine the dimensions of the ‘genie’s bottle’ of creation as an ocean then the triple-creation codon of Pi forms as every droplet within, appearing as the musical structure upon which the labyrinths of octaves are suspended, from the tiniest atoms to the vast oceans of cosmic consciousness. It is the transcendental nature of the triple-creation codon which creates the complexity and apparent chaos of our universe through ‘fractal paintings’ which appear upon these octet structures. In historical Egypt each of the three primal octaves flowered into three further octaves to create the nine overlapping octaves or 64 letters of the Thoth Code, a term first proposed by Michael Hayes in his book ‘High Priests, Quantum Genes’ in memory of Thoth, the Egyptian God of Wisdom. This Thoth Code mirrors the I Ching and the 64 codons of DNA. In Egypt the interlocking spheres of the triple-creation codon of Pi became the source for the creation chains of existence. In the Egyptian creation model proposed by the author Drunvalo Melchizdek the triple-creation codon of Pi was depicted by the overlapping circles of the Flower of Life. From the Flower of Life arose the Fruit of Life and Metatrons’Cube. From Metatron’s Cube arose the five Platonic Solids. From the five Platonic Solids arose the geometric shapes which became the basis for our universe, such as the myriad aspects of molecular geometry, cellular life and the ascents of evolution. Let us pause here. Is this ‘genies bottle’ model of creation valid? Does it explain the structure of our universe? Is it plausible that the background fields of our universe are not space-time-gravity and primal matter but consciousness? Is it an elegant solution to some of our greatest modern scientific dilemmas such as the following three perplexing riddles. Firstly, how does matter create consciousness? We can see in the ‘genie’s bottle’ model that matter does not create consciousness, it is consciousness which creates matter. Secondly, how do complex organs arise from the blind forces of evolution? We can see complex organs manifest because they are precise expressions of the hidden powers of consciousness. Thirdly, what is the 'unified field theory' which Einstein struggled with towards the end of his life? We can see the 'unified field theory' is a signpost pointing to the fourth dimension of the Eternal, the source of all the disparate aspects of consciousness and matter. This ‘genie’s bottle’ model of creation suggests then that we should pause when faced with the incomprehensible riddle of ‘if the background fields of the universe are space-time-gravity and primal matter, then how does a ‘bucket of cosmic mud’ create and sustain a complex universe of consciousness?’ Indeed, we need to suspect that there are hidden dimensions of consciousness surrounding us which are not immediately perceivable to our physical senses and our personal minds. To discover these realms we must move into the witnessing states of meditation, the quiet contemplation of the ‘buddhas.’ We must move our attention to the nature of consciousness itself and the fundamental question ‘who is the perceiving consciousness’ or ‘who am I?’ We can suggest then that the greatest revelation of our age will be the discovery that we dwell within an overflowing ocean of consciousness, not an empty vault of space-time-gravity. We will then discover that the three dimensions of deep sleep, dream and waking are the source of all that we perceive. Chapter 5 - Two Models Combined What would a mature creation model look like? A model which could stand for a thousand years as a signpost to the energetic truth for our universe? A model which is a marriage of the past five millennia merged with the insights of our present moment? Can we combine the matter and consciousness creation models for our universe so that they are not in antithesis to one another but simply two ways of seeing the one cosmic unity for science has explored the minute detail of our physical universe and the mystics the grand poetic panorama of the causal forces for creation and consciousness. Can we look with the wisdom merged with these two perceptions? If we were to present a model of unity as a pyramid structure perhaps we could begin at the apex with the three images of the universe, the psyche and the ‘theory of everything.’ These three images are a trinity of keys with which we can explore the myriad catacombs of the universe, they are three images which contain the condensed truth of all that will follow. The Universe The Psyche The ‘Theory of Everything’ Beneath these three images we could array a series of ancient symbols which have carried the truth for millennia. These images would begin with the AUM symbol of the Himalayan plateau, the pure pictogram of the consciousness theory of creation. Beneath AUM we could arrange the Chinese symbol of the Tao, the duality of the Yin/Yang in the endless dance of creation. Beneath the Yin/Yang we could present the Ba Gua, the primal hexagram or octave of creation from which we can derive Pi, Phi and the Fibonacci series. Below the Ba Gua we could present the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching, the flowering of the Ba Gua into the octaves of creation. Beneath these Chinese Taoist images we could arrange the 22 letters of the triple-creation codon of Pi from Egypt and Greece, the input formula for the cosmic fractal. Beneath this level would lie the Thoth Code, the Egyptian mirror for the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching. In Greece this could have been called the Hermetic Code after Hermes, the Greek name for Thoth, the Egyptian God of Wisdom. Beneath this level we could arrange the Egyptian symbols for the chains of creation – the Flower of Life.. The Fruit of Life and Metatron’s Cube.. The five Platonic solids.. These are the creation chains which create the octet structures of consciousness, psyche, matter and biology. Beneath these levels we can arrange the symbols created by western science, discovered through the use of its profound tools of universal exploration. Such as the octet structures of DNA.. and RNA.. The periodic table of elements.. The molecular structure.. The octet levels of sub-particle chromadynamics, the quantum nature, superstrings and the realms of dark matter and dark energy. We can see now that the two creation models have united in synthesis, a union which has absorbed the two polarities into one model of cosmic truth. It is a model of unity which could light the human path for the next millennia. Chapter 6 - The Psyche The mystics have not only mapped the causal forces for our universe but they have also explored the structure of the human psyche so in the ‘genie's bottle’ model we can now zoom into the reflected light of the cosmos to reveal the image of the psyche portrayed below. If we look at this image we can see the body-psyche is like a magic tapestry of consciousness woven from seven psychic centres which form vibrational octaves to create the journeys of personal psyche. These journeys appear because the human body is like a miniature ‘genie's bottle’ which we enter within our mother's womb. We enter this bottle through the fontanelle, the opening at the crown of the head as a plume of pure consciousness before we descend the spine until we reach wisdom-heart, where we dwell awaiting our birth. At birth we find ourselves cast in a great arc of psychic destiny, 'falling' through the 'front' of the heart in a descent to the feet, where we draw upon ourselves a shroud of forgetfulness, the dreaming nature of the personal self. This act creates an individual journey, the ascent through the psychic centres suspended upon the spine until we eventually return to our remembrance at wisdom-heart. In this way there is a chronology written upon the body so that during early childhood we psychically dwell at the feet, ankles and calves; by the age of six we have psychically reached the knees; by ten or twelve we have reached the pelvis and puberty. We must then ascend through the adult aspects of feeling upon the lower abdomen, mind at the belly and ego-structure at the liver to return to wisdom-heart. It may seem peculiar to place the 'centre' of mind at the belly but this is the source of the subtle mind impressions which eventually become our 'stream' of thought. This is why stopping the breath stops the thought processes too. If we understand this psychic panorama we can see that when we dwell beneath wisdom-heart we will experience ourselves as a personal self existing within the fields of pleasure and pain, of life and death, but when we dwell at wisdom-heart we will experience ourselves as pure spirit, the state of 'I AM', a witnessing self no longer trapped in identity with the changing fields of consciousness, a self free from the tenacious clasp of the five primal chains of consciousness. The chains are forgetfulness, the loss into sexual polarity, the entrapment at the 'woundings' of childhood and sex and pride, the identity with personal mind and the dwelling beneath the ego-structure at the liver. We can see now that wisdom-heart is the profound meeting point for the psyche. We can see it is the place where we connect our feet and crown in one pure column of universal knowing so we are at last free from the journeys of becoming and can simply love 'what is.’ We can see it is the union point for the two inner sex streams so it is the psychic goal for our relationships. We can see it is the union point for the personal and universal minds so it is the doorway to meditation. We can see it is the place where the grit of sand of ego sense falls from the eyes and we can at last perceive the panorama of our divinity. We can see it is the place of clarity where we are free to walk in and out of the pure mirror of consciousness, the doorway between forgetfulness and remembrance. We can see it is the source of our wisdom, the hiding place of our spirit in a cosmic game of 'hide and seek.’ We can see it is the temple where the warrior lays down his sword to become the 'lamb of God.’ We can see it is our sacred home in a sea of life and death. Further, if we understand this journey in consciousness, we can see that the act of standing vertically has two aspects to its nature. Firstly, to stand vertically in physical form, allowing the flowering of the brain-spinal stem. Secondly, to stand vertically in consciousness, to rise from the ego-centre at the liver until we dwell at wisdom-heart. In this way we can see the holy grail of our myths is simply the spinal column of consciousness radiating its clear perception. Our very nature then has been the grail that we have mythically sought and we have been travelling with the grail strapped to our backs in a peculiar state of existential forgetfulness! We can also see that the chakras or psychic centres have appeared upon the spinal column like a stairway to heaven. The chakras have appeared in ascending order as firstly matter/creation/sex, then feeling, mind, ego-sense, universal heart, causal/spirit realm and transcendence. These chakras have appeared as an expression of the ‘law of octaves’ or the 'law of 7' which suggests that there are seven steps occurring within many universal sequences before each sequence repeats itself as an octave of higher or lower resonance. In this way the base chakra of creation/matter vibrates at about 7Hz and each ascending chakra increases this vibration by an exponential factor of seven, to create the following table of psyche. Creation (spine base) - 7Hz Feeling (abdomen) - 49Hz Mind (belly) - 343Hz Ego (liver) - 2,401Hz Love (heart) - 16,807Hz Being (throat) - 117,649Hz (We can note that the female elephant in rut calls to the bull elephant with a tone of 17Hz.) In the ‘genie's bottle’ creation model we can also see that the body has appeared within the waters of consciousness as a holographic droplet of the surrounding universe. We can see this because the body mirrors the creation chain of the 'big bang,’ the chain of ether, air, fire, water and earth, with ether or primal sound appearing at the throat, air at the lungs, fire at the gastric level of the stomach, water at the level of the bladder and earth at the bowels. The universe also has a duality nature for it needs a polarity of energies to manifest - even an egg requires a polarity separation to exist. This duality is revealed within the body when we fold the body along a vertical line, creating the polarity separation of the two lobes of the brain, the two breaths of the individual lungs and the two polarities of the sexual nature. In this way an orgasm is simply a 'spark' jumping between the left and right sides of the body, between the anima and the animus. We can also fold the body horizontally just below the level of the liver so that the crown of the head bends down and touches the feet. We can see then that the liver has merged with the belly, connecting ego-sense and mind, the heart merges with the lower abdomen, connecting heart and feeling, the mouth and sex centres have established a strong energy connection and the base of the spine which runs in a horse’s tail of fine nerves all the way to the feet is now connected to the crown centre, forming a primal polarity. We can also see that the personal consciousness has a colour nature which mirrors the rainbow spectrum of the cosmos. We can see this for we often talk of the psyche in terms of colours: 'I felt red with rage, green with envy and blue with sadness.’ This psychic spectrum is the rainbow dreamcoat streaming from the brain-spinal stem. It appears as the 'red' of survival and sexuality at the base of the spine, the ‘orange’ of emotionality and instinct at the lower abdomen, the ‘yellow’ of mind at the belly, the ‘green’ of ego and personal will at the liver, the ‘blue’ of subtle heart at the chest, the ‘indigo-violet’ of the causal/spirit forces at the throat and as the 'White Light' which emanates from the crown when the colour spectrum is merged in union. All these aspects of the psyche indicate that the body is a mirror droplet of the surrounding oceans of the universe and this affirms the ancient maxim 'as above, so below.’ We can suggest now that when the journey of psyche naturally flowers it will effortlessly move through three octaves of psyche with each octave manifesting as a period of seven years. The first octave from birth to the age of seven will involve the establishment of the personal self. The second octave from the age of seven to fourteen will involve puberty and the establishment of the sexual self. The third octave from the ages of fourteen to twenty-one will involve the natural awakening to diamond-mind and the ‘buddha-nature.’ We can also now understand the nature of meditation and the basic structures for mind. The first structure is the personal mind which is connected to the inbreath/outbreath pulse of fifteen cycles per minute. It moves as the feeling sense of 'I am myself' in the fields of desire, fear and accumulated knowledge. The second structure of mind is the brain-spinal stem which pulses softly at 8 cycles per minute in a vertical direction, in the realm of 'now and presence.’ It is connected to the feeling sense of 'I-AM.’ This cranio-sacral mind is in turn profoundly connected to a planetary vibration called the Schumann Resonance, a standing wave of electro-magnetic vibration of 7.83Hz which travels through the ionosphere surrounding the earth. This earthionosphere expanse has been poetically called the planetary mind of Gaia with the Schumann Resonance as its heartbeat. We unite with this mind when we move into the 7-9HZ of our REM dreaming. We can also note that many hallucinogenic drugs create chemical vibrations in consciousness corresponding to 8 cycles per second or 8Hz so they have been used by shamans for 'connecting us to the gods.’ Also many healers when they enter their 'stream' of healing have been found to enter a brain-wave pattern of about 8 cycles per second. It is the underlying linkage between the three minds of the personal mind, the cranio-sacral mind and the mind of Gaia, with its mystical conduit of the Schumann Resonance which allows the human possibility of union with cosmic mind and the profound states of meditation, healing and awakening. Meditation or 'stillpoint' then is the psychic-space which arises when the personal mind unites with the vertical-mind of the spinal column, creating a profound union which allows us to enter our deep well of knowing and intuition, where we know instinctively who we are and how we should act in the present moment. This 'stillpoint' at the centre of the cyclone of consciousness is the same space we enter during deep sleep and during our times of insight and healing. It is the union of these minds which creates the possibility for a revolution in consciousness, a state the mystics call diamondmind. Diamond-mind arises when the centre of our attention moves from the endlessly changing oceans of consciousness to unite with the ‘glass’ or diamond of the ‘genie’s bottle’ of consciousness. Diamond-mind becomes possible when the vertical column of the psyche is cleared of all psychic impediments, when the mind has stilled so that it becomes a metaphysical conductor, producing no resistance to the powerful flows of the cosmic mind. Chapter 7 – The Solar System Psyche It is an ancient premise that our human psyche is a cosmic mirror for our solar system and that both are structures of consciousness. This seems to be a bizarre concept yet it has resonated with the human mind for millennia, with endless musicians creating musical compositions to reflect the ‘harmony of the spheres.’ We can also see this premise reflected in the work of such scientists as the Russian astronomer Molchanov who said that ‘our solar system is a quantum-tuned resonant structure with Jupiter as the conductor of the celestial symphonies.’ We can also see the premise reflected in John Martineau’s book ‘A Little Book of Coincidence’ which presents the amazing beauty of our solar system orbits. We can also see this premise of a conscious universe expressed within the vast spirals of our Milky Way galaxy, with the presence of spirals suggesting a background consciousness. In ancient Egypt each life form was believed to be surrounded by a MerKaBa or ‘living energy field’ which was its source of consciousness hidden deep within the background dimensions of deep sleep and dream, such as in the image of the human form below. or in this image of a galaxy In 2010 NASA scientists discovered two huge bubbles of gamma rays either side of our Milky Way galaxy and they are among the largest structures ever found. Are our scientists now staring at the outer expression of a galactic MerKaBa? Let us look into this further. The formula E=MC2 suggests that the speed of light is the basis of energy and energy is the basis for matter. This infers then that our universe is a matter-energy hologram created by the speed of light. Is it possible then that our cosmos is also a matter-consciousness hologram created by the speed of light, the expression of a fractal endlessly mirroring itself through a myriad of dimensions, an image which has been depicted in the multi-headed form of the Hindu god Shiva. Are there profound connections then between the speed of light, the structure of our solar system, the sound-tone nature of music and the conscious vibrations of the human psyche? Is it a coincidence that the earth is 150 million kms from the sun, the vibration of middle 'C' upon the piano is 256HZ and the vibration of the human mind upon the spinal column is about 200Hz? Let us investigate this further. The speed of light is believed to be a universal constant of 299,792,458 metres a second so using this unit of light we can now measure the orbits of our solar system planets in millions of kilometres from the sun: Mercury 58Mkms, Venus 108Mkms, Earth 150Mkms, Mars 228Mkms, Jupiter 778Mkms, Saturn 1470Mkms, Uranus 2870Mkms, Neptune 4504Mkms, Pluto 5913kms. If we look at these solar system orbits it is easy to see that there are two Fibonacci sequences written into their structure. A Fibonacci sequence is a mathematical formula upon which much of our universe is based. The sequence says that after the first two numbers the next number will always be the sum of the previous two numbers: such as 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34.. Let us look at the first four planets and their orbits: Mercury (58Mkms), Venus (108Mkms), Earth (150Mkms) and Mars (228Mkms). We can see these mirror the Fibonacci sequence of 50,50,100,150,250. The next planet in the sequence should appear 400Mkms from the sun but Jupiter is 778Mkms from the sun. The natural cosmic step is missing and where this 'mythical' planet should be we discover the major asteroid belt orbiting between 300Mkms-600Mkms from the sun, as if they are the remains of a foetal planet. However, once we attain Jupiter we can see a new Fibonacci sequence begins: Jupiter (778Mkms), Saturn (1470Mkms), Uranus (2870Mkms), Neptune (4504Mkms) and Pluto (5913Mkms). A pure Fibonacci sequence would be: 800,800,1600,2400,4000,6400. We can now make a prediction. If there is a planet beyond Pluto and assuming our solar system is the expression of a matterconsciousness hologram created by the speed of light then that tenth planet will orbit about 10-11 billion Kms from the sun. This is the orbit of Neptune, 4504Mkms, plus the orbit of Pluto, 5913Mkms, which equals 10,417Mkms. We can also suspect that the tenth planet will have a strong affinity to a cosmic meridian of consciousness which runs 117 billion 649Mkms from the sun, corresponding to the throat chakra of deep sleep, a vibration of 117,649Hz. In March 2004 it was announced that a tenth planet, eventually named Sedna, had been discovered beyond Pluto moving in a huge flattened ellipse around the sun. The closest point of its orbit to the sun is 10.9 billion kms. The furthest point of its orbit is estimated to be 110 billion to 130 billion kms from the sun. The expanded Fibonacci sequence has now become: Jupiter (778Mkms), Saturn (1470Mkms), Uranus (2870Mkms), Neptune (4504Mkms), Pluto (5913Mkms) and Sedna (10,900Mkms). A pure Fibonacci sequence would be: 800, 800, 1600, 2400, 4000, 6400, 10400. We can now see that the ‘genie's bottle’ model of creation has not only predicted the existence of the 'dark matter' which surrounds our cosmos and measured its exact volume but the model has also predicted the elliptical orbit of the tenth planet Sedna simply through the use of Fibonacci sequences and the 'law of octaves.' These are remarkable acts of prediction. Let us look now at our system of western music and imagine that we are playing notes upon the keyboard of a piano and describing them in terms of their relationship to the octave of middle 'C', creating the following table of vibrations: (Note: 1Hz = one cycle per second). ‘A’ two octaves down 55Hz (Mercury orbit 58Mkms), ‘A’ one octave down 110Hz (Venus 108Mkms), ‘D’ one octave down 146Hz (Earth - 150Mkms), ‘A sharp’ middle octave 233Hz (Mars - 228Mkms), ‘G’ one octave up 783Hz (Jupiter - 778Mkms) and ‘F sharp’ two octaves up 1480Hz (Saturn - 1470Mkms). We can see there is a profound serendipidity between these two sets of figures of Mkms and Hz vibrations of sound and if our solar system is the expression of a matter-consciousness hologram created by the speed of light, with the planets creating cosmic sound tones as they move through the background fields of consciousness, then it suggests that we have intuitively created our musical systems based upon the solar system orbits, upon the Pythagorean 'harmony of the spheres.' If this is so then it infers that when we play music we are playing the speed of light in the form of sound and we can suspect that the high vibrations of Neptune, Pluto and Sedna have become the silences of the heart and the soul. Further, long before the time of Eratosthenes and Pythagoras it was believed that each planet expressed a different aspect of the cosmic psyche and that the planets and our individual psyches were divine and mortal mirrors of one another as portrayed in the following list of our current solar system: Pluto/Sedna - power/transcendence, Neptune - heart spaces, Uranus - new states of being, Saturn - wisdom and separate self, Jupiter - high mind and harmony, Mars - will, Earth - earthly consciousness, Venus - feeling nature and Mercury - creation mind. Is it possible then that one million kilometres of solar system distance not only corresponds to a vibration of one cycle per second in music but that it also corresponds to one cycle per second in consciousness? Let us look at the list of the chakras: being (throat) purple, love (heart) blue, ego (liver) green, mind (stomach) yellow, feeling (abdomen) orange and creation (spine-base) red. Now we have discovered that there is a mystic journey through these psychic centres, an ascent through the tapestries of consciousness from the physical feet to the crown so if we knew the vibrational level of each chakra we could measure the psychic distances we must travel as we ascend the vertical column of the spine. We already know that the vibration which integrates and disintegrates matter is about 7Hz so we can now do something that is extraordinarily simple, something we have already seen in the previous pages. We can take the base chakra of 7Hz and multiply each ascending level of consciousness by 7 - the number of steps within a musical octave - to create the following list of psyche vibrations: Creation (spine base) - 7Hz, Feeling (abdomen) 49Hz, Mind (belly) - 343Hz, Ego (liver) – 2,401Hz, Love (heart) – 16,807Hz and Being (throat) - 117,649Hz. These figures give us the pure vibration tones of the chakras but the chakras in reality exist as broad 'bands' of overlapping vibration. This suggests that the 'bands' of wisdom-heart and spirit-throat will be immense in size because of their vast transcendent nature so we can imagine the experiential chakra 'bands' will look like the following list: Being (throat).. 5000Hz upwards, Wisdom-heart.. 2000Hz upwards, Separate self (liver).. 900-3000Hz, High mind (low liver).. 300-1000Hz, Mind (stomach).. 100-400Hz, Feeling (abdomen)... 20-200Hz and Creation (survival).. 0-80Hz. We can see that this suggested table of 'bands' of consciousness mirrors the solar system orbits in millions of kilometres and it suggests that the speed of light is not only profoundly linked to matter, energy, the structure of the solar system and the sound-tone nature of music but also to the nature of the psyches which appear upon the crucible of the earth! They suggest that the cosmos is a matter-consciousness hologram created by the speed of light and they suggest that the universe is not simply an empty wasteland of primal matter but that it is the vast body of a conscious being. This means that we have discovered the 'footprints' of the gods in the 'sands' of Eternity and it also means we have discovered one of the most beautiful and elegant formulas in the cosmos: 'Each one million kilometres of solar system distance creates the cosmic appearance of one Hz vibration in music and one Hz vibration in consciousness.’ In summary we can see that the planets of our solar system are laid out in two Fibonacci sequences which mirror the string of pearls of the chakras or psychic centres upon the human spinal column and it means that the missing planet between Mars and Jupiter will have profound effects upon the psyches of our earth's life forms, creating the solar system appearance that we dwell within an empty void of matter, a realm of cosmic estrangement. This explains why the mystic journey requires supreme acts of faith, prayer and the still witnessing of meditation. It also suggests that humanity will need to learn to tone a vibration of about 450Hz so that we can 'recreate' the missing planet or missing psychic centre as we collectively ascend upon the mystic journey. This panorama of solar system mind also suggests that the solar system is being created by the speed of light as an expression of an underlying fractal, a geometric shape which can be endlessly divided with each part becoming the same form as the whole and it means that hidden within these simple figures of solar system orbits and psychic vibrations we have discovered a mathematical proof, just as Pythagoras believed, that we are children of the cosmos! At last we can see that the speed of light is a cosmic 'paintbrush' held in the hands of vast powers of consciousness, a 'paintbrush' which robes itself within a myriad of forms such as matter, energy, the solar system distances, the sound-tones of music, the rainbow colours of the psyche and the vibrations of individual consciousness. Chapter 8 - The ‘Theory of Everything’ Beyond the image of the psyche, beyond the vistas of AUM-Pi stands the mystics ‘theory of everything,’ the forty-three powers of the Eternal and Consciousness which we can use to describe the nature of our universe. These forty-three powers are based upon the thirty-six creation powers or Tattvas of the yogic philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism. This mystics model of the theory of everything requires 12 powers of the Eternal, 31 powers of consciousness, the ‘law of three and seven,’ the four primary riddles of appearance and the five chains of consciousness to create a play of identity within a vast cosmic theatre of Eternal Awareness. In this creation model the dimension of deep sleep contains 15 powers. They are the primal Duality, the Trinity, ego-sense, the two powers which form the projecting film and the impressions upon it, the five powers which form the reflecting screen, the power of universal mind which is the self-knowing aspect of the universe and finally, the space-time-gravitational vault of ether. Below deep sleep dimension lie the two dimensions of dream and waking, woven from a further sixteen powers of consciousness. They are firstly creation mind which takes the subtle impressions and creates a universal reality and secondly personal mind which identifies with a particular stream of thought-feeling and says ‘this is myself.’ There are also the five powers of action - breathing, sexuality, voicing, digestion and movement. There are also the five powers of sense - touching, tasting, seeing, hearing and smelling. And finally, the last four of the five powers of manifestation which are collectively described as ether, air, fire, water and earth. In this model the primal trinity garbs the individual self in five etheric robes. They are the robe of deep sleep, the two robes of universal and creation minds and the two outer robes of the physical body and the personal life force, robes which send the individual self out on its journey of destiny. These three dimensions and thirty-one powers can be described as a genie's bottle of consciousness but when the powers are absorbed in union they simply form as a pure Mirror, a Mirror reflecting the Light of a fourth dimension, the Eternal. In this state of balance the Eternal is simply Aware of the Eternal and all the dreams of consciousness have evaporated like mists before the morning sun. This Eternal nature in turn is woven from a further twelve powers for each Eternal Sun with its intrinsic three dimensions of consciousness is simply a single droplet in a vast ocean of Illusion woven from five Eternal powers and beyond lies a sixth, the primordial seed of Illusion itself, a seed which is known on the Himalayan plateau as the goddess Maya. Above these powers dwell five Blue powers, those of Pure Being, Bliss, Knowing, Power and Unlimited Form, the highest expressions of all the powers of the Eternal. This Blue dimension eventually fades to become a tiny Blue Pearl before disappearing into an endless ocean of Darkness, the ocean of the Unmanifest, the Unknowable which is the last step in all the realms of creation and manifestation. We have now before us an extraordinary panorama of consciousness and the Eternal and if we grasp this vision we can understand why the genie’s bottle model theory of everything has 43 powers in its sacred formula, a formula based upon the creation powers or Tattvas of the yogic philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism. These powers have Sanskrit names so if we take their initial letters, plus the letters from some English terms, we can then create the fabled ‘theory of everything’ formula which can be printed onto a T-shirt. A Formula for the ‘Theory of Everything’ CHI + AN + IC + JA +KRI + MAY + KA + KAA + NI + RAG + VI + AW + YI + YA +SA + TA + RA + EG + CH + MA + G + RAA+ RU + SH + SP + UI + CI + PI + M+ B +V + D + SE + SEE + T + TO + S + H + E + A + F + W + EA = the powers of consciousness and Awareness which surround the darkness of the Absolute. Where (CHI + AN + IC + JA +KRI) = Supreme blue powers (Eternal Being, Bliss, Power, Knowing and Form) (MAY) = Illusion itself (KA + KAA + NI + RAG + VI) = Veils of Illusion (AW) = Awareness, the Droplet within the Eternal Oceans (YI + YA) = Primal Powers of Duality (SA + TA + RA) = great Trinity of consciousness (EG + CH + MA) = primal power of ego-sense, impressions upon the causal film, the causal film itself (G + RAA+ RU + SH + SP ) = powers of the reflecting screen (UI + CI + PI ) = universal mind, creation mind, personal mind (M+ B +V + D + SE ) = five powers of physical action (movement, breath, voicing, digestion and sexuality) (SEE + T + TO + S + H ) = five powers of physical sense (seeing, tasting, touching, smelling and hearing) (E + A + F + W + EA ) = five creation powers (space-timegravitational vault of ether, gaseous realm of ‘air,’ combustion of ‘fire,’ liquidity of ‘water’ and physical matter.) This formula appears at first to be incomprehensible to the western scientific mind but its essence has stood the test of five passing millennia and it has been verified by some of the greatest mystical minds which our planet has produced. Perhaps these mystics too would suggest to the perplexed scientific mind that the primary error of the matter creation model is that it is impossible to deduce the totality of consciousness and the Eternal simply by studying primal matter and the etheric vault of space-time-gravity. The ego-mind can also find itself staring at such a formula with a mixture of rage and despair because it reduces its perception down to a ‘pile of rooster feathers in a forgotten corner of the universe’ but what if the Eternal has simply robed itself with the personal form so that it can go on an adventure within consciousness, so that it can explore the aspects of itself? To do so it must enshroud itself in the dreams of forgetfulness using perhaps the greatest act of wizardry of all, the power which creates the perception that the ego structure is separate from the surrounding universe. What if the Eternal and the ego are simply two faces of the one power? Chapter 9 – A Final Summary Let us now summarise the terrain of the universe and the psyche which we have crossed. Firstly we now know that the Eternal nature has two primal aspects, those of the Eternal Light and the clear translucent nature of the ‘genie's bottle’ which can also be described as the pure mirror of consciousness. Secondly the ‘genie’s bottle’ contains the oceans of consciousness woven from the three dimensions of deep sleep, dream and waking, dimensions which also contain the reflected light of the personal self. When our identity is merged with the personal self we experience ourselves as dwelling within the ocean of life and death, of desire and fear but when our identity is merged with the pure mirror of the ‘genie's bottle’ we experience ourselves as the Witness, the state of 'I AM' which exists in a separate dimension to the changing fields of consciousness. In this way it is possible to move from identity with the personal self to become the Eternal mirror untouched by the 'stain' of the universe. To attain this transformation of perception we need to enter wisdom-heart space in full wakefulness. To do so we must throw the five primal chains of consciousness. The chains are forgetfulness, the loss into sexual polarity, the entrapment at the 'woundings' of childhood and sex and pride, the identity with personal mind and the dwelling beneath the ego structure at the liver. We can suggest now that if this ‘genie’s bottle’ or AUM-Pi creation model gains general acceptance within our communities we will then be ready to explore the tapestries of spiritual relationship, healing, esoteric music and all the sciences of consciousness. And if the discovery of a round earth created a revolution in our cosmic perception then the discovery that the background fields of our universe are not matter but consciousness also has the potential to ignite an incredible awakening. Indeed it gives us the opportunity to begin to act in ways of collective responsibility that we have previously been unable to attain for we will now understand that we dwell within a cosmic fractal, with everything appearing as a mirror droplet of the one great ocean. Our destructive patterns of war and violence will then become an existential absurdity. They mean only that we have been trying to destroy our own shadows or impale ourselves upon our own swords. This acceptance of the ‘genie's bottle’ creation model will inevitably awaken within us a profound interest in the state of diamond-mind, a state where we awaken ourselves from the deep oceans of forgetfulness and return to the profound states of Being. It is then we will remember that before our first footfall into the oceans of consciousness we dwelt as the mystical state of 'I-AM.' This will also be our state when we return again to the surrounding realms of Awareness and the Light of our Eternal Nature.
