In order to be successful in Social Studies 11, you must complete all assignments. Students who do not complete all assignments will not receive a mark. But, fear not because assignments that are not submitted will receive an “REQ” mark. “REQ” stands for required. If you have a “REQ” you must complete the original assignment within three days of the due date (it will be considered late), after which a different (much harder) assignment will be assigned to fulfill the “REQ.” You must complete all “REQ’S” in order to receive a mark. B. If a parent or guardian contacts me, prior to, or on the due date (604-594-5458) I will consider the later submission. Notes are absolutely worthless!! C. Cheating is unacceptable and dishonest!!!! Do not resort to cheating…you will loose credibility and respect from peers and teachers alike when you cheat. BEHAVIOUR AGREEMENT Parents/Guardians: Please read the Course Outline, Classroom Expectations, and the following Behaviour Agreement carefully and sign below. Disrespect: Disrespectful behaviour towards others will be taken very seriously. Consequence: You will be directed to wait outside the classroom until I am free to speak with you. The direct consequence will depend on the severity of the offence; it might take the form of an essay or a required action to improve the situation, where as in some cases I may need to contact your parent/guardian and the office/counsellors immediately to decide on a more serious consequence. Lateness: If you are late, enter the room silently, close the door gently, and note your lateness in the “Late Binder” located near the door. Consequence: The first time you are late we will have a brief discussion, on the third late you will owe me class time and will be required to make it up at the tutorial, or on a day we have class during the last block. If you fail to make up your time, or you are repeatedly late beyond the third time, I will be contacting your parent/guardian and there will be a more serious consequence. Absent: If you are absent your parents should have contacted the school. Consequence: You are responsible to make up the work that you missed, and you will owe me class time (to be made up in tutorial). If you are repeatedly absent I will contact your parents, and in some cases I may need to have a meeting with your parent/guardian and determine a behaviour contract.
