Enrichment Activity
Computing and IT
Course Manager and current students available to
discuss courses on offer in the department and
demonstrate some of the work they do.
Creative Writing
We will be showcasing some of the activities we do in
our thriving creative writing sessions here at college.
There will be a variety of exercises and writing
opportunities to join in with or observe. The group will
also be finalising the last ‘chapter’ of their
collaborative mystery novel, as well as working on the
next edition of the college’s literary magazine ’Create.’
We will provide paper and pens - expect the
unexpected!
Health Promotion Campaign
Students studying Health & Social Care will showcase
their health promotion campaigns on healthy eating,
sexual health, smoking and alcohol. Please use the
opportunity to talk to them about their various work
placements as well.
Labrats (Biology)
This enrichment is a MUST for students considering
careers in a biological laboratory eg biomedical
sciences/micro biology/food sciences. Come and talk
to the students and work alongside them, completing
some laboratory practical’s (naturally, health and
safety rules prevent you from eating or drinking in the
laboratory).
Leaf (Environment Group)
10:00 – 10:30 Students will be pleased to show you around the bio
and
diversity areas they have created in the College

Maths Challenge
10:00 – 11:00 A variety of challenging Maths puzzles and problems,
and
including examples of those from the Maths Challenge

Take a peek at our budding photographers as they
create images for entry into competitions using our
studio and darkroom.
Theological Society
The Theological Society enrichment activities will be

from both theistic and nontheistic religious traditions,

Dostoyevsky's "The Brothers Karamazov."

Book Club
The English Department invite visitors to join in with
discussions of the current Waterstone’s top ten reads,
old and new favourites and some more unusual texts.
Current students will also be invited to join in and give
their literary analysis and a lively discussion is to be
expected!
Dance Recitals
You are invited to watch AS and A2 Dance students
rehearsing for their practical exams. There is a mix of

Economics - the Oligopoly game
This is a fun way of learning about an oligopolistic
market, where several large firms dominate the
market, and the profits of one firm is dependent on the
behaviour of other firms. The objective of the game is
to make as much profit as possible and in each round
of the game you will make one simple choice –
decrease the price of the goods or increase advertising.
