GENERAL CONDITIONS OF APPLICATION FOR FUNDING FROM THE TRANSLATION OF
BULGARIAN LITERATURE (FICTION) FINANCING PROGRAM
Please, do not print these general conditions. They are attached for your information.
WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM SUPPORTS?
 The objective of the Program is to contribute to the promotion of Bulgarian literature abroad.
WHAT ARE THE GRANTS ALLOCATED FOR?
The program will support one module:

Single projects for translation of Bulgarian literary works - fiction
WHO COULD APPLY?
 Eligible to apply for funding from the Program shall be Bulgarian and foreign organizations financed
from public sources, publishing houses or private and non-government organizations with publishing and
translation included in their main scope of business.
 Application is conditional upon signed translation publishing contract (provided that the applicant
organization is not a publishing house).
 If applicant organization is Bulgarian publishing house, professional relationships with foreign
publishing house are required
 Previous translations of the work into the target language are not eligible!
WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBLE EXPENSES?
 The financial support is granted for the translation work only
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A PRIORITY?
 Mid-term programs for publishing Bulgarian literature abroad will be examined with priority

PROJECT ELIGIBILITY AND EXCLUSION CRITERIA














The completed application form in 5 (five) uniform copies accompanied by the mandatory annexes and 1
(one) CD including a copy of all the necessary documents and annexes shall be sent to the National
Culture Fund with delivery receipt (Sofia, 17 Al. Stamboliiski Blvd.) till 4th Sept. 2014 . Documents
received after the deadline for submission shall not be accepted, irrespective of the postal stamp date.
A disc or diskette with the e-versions of the application form and the obligatory annexes must be
attached to project documentation
The expert commission for project support shall only examine applications if they are duly completed
and submitted on the official application form. The application form is available from the websites
www.ncf.bg, www.mc.government.bg
Every publishing house or applicant may apply with not more than one project per session
One translator may apply with not more than one project per session
Only complete sets of documents shall be accepted
The amount requested from NCF must not be more than 80% of total project cost.
The commission may approve or reject a project.
All the submitted documents – the application form as well as the annexes enclosed – are not supposed
to be returned to the applicants.
Tender results shall be published in the site of Ministry of culture – Bulgaria, in NCF’s website –
www.mc.government.bg , www.ncf.bg.
Successful applicants shall be notified following the decision of the Management Board of NCF.
Persons representing the applicant organizations of successful projects shall sign contracts for their rights
and obligations related to project implementation with the Executive Director of National Culture Fund
in one week after the notification.
Project parameters may only be changed upon official approval of the written request to that effect by
National Culture Fund.
The requested funding must be presented in BGN.
EXCLUSION CRITERIA





Organizations or private persons with projects of expired period of eligibility of expenditures, which
have received funding under previous tenders of NCF, are not eligible.
Publishing houses and organizations which have received funding under previous sessions of the same
programme and which have not presented a detailed report about the received funding, including a copy
of the publication supported, are not eligible.
Publishing houses and organizations which have not attached any documents for translation and
publishing rights are not eligible.
Projects rejected in previous tenders of NCF are not eligible.
Candidates, who did not have complete sets of documents are not eligible
