Visitors to ELSA's booth (Hall A, booth 1L 20) will have an excellent opportunity to view a full spectrum of simulation capabilities, emphasizing Air Crew training, Tactical and Headquarters training solutions as well as the ELSA’s Cyber Simulator training system. Based on decades of accumulated, across-the-board experience in C4I, sensors, ISR and other key technologies coming from its parent company Elbit Systems Ltd., including the legacy assets of BVR Systems, ELSA’s portfolio answers the need for training transformation that meets the growing demand for full spectrum, joint-operation training missions. ELSA’s simulation solutions already support several leading and prestigious military forces around the world. The following will be highlighted in the ELSA booth: Solutions to be presented in the Elbit Systems of Australia booth: Air Crew Training Systems Blending combat experience with today’s innovative simulation technologies, ELSA offers operational and tactical, virtual and embedded trainers and simulators to leading air forces worldwide. Our modular, flexible training solutions for airborne systems are designed to evolve and grow with customer needs. We offer computer-based trainers, partial task trainers, full mission trainers and complete training centers that comprise mission planning systems, simulators and debriefing systems. Our advanced combat training system introduces a cutting-edge training concept for lead-in trainers as well as fighter aircraft, providing customized training and ongoing logistic support solutions for virtually any platform type. Training & Simulation Systems: ELSA is active worldwide in providing military training and simulation systems, for air, land and sea. The Company relies on its cutting-edge technological capabilities, especially in software development for complex systems projects, and on its worldwide leadership in military platform upgrades. ELSA’s virtual environments replicate actual combat equipment, systems and munitions, transforming training to reality. Connecting all levels of operational forces, both in simulators and onboard actual platforms and enabling them to share the same arena, these systems allow interaction reflecting action in the actual battlefield. They provide the tactical distributed mission training and collaborative mission planning necessary to create interpretive, responsive and agile forces capable of meeting future challenges. ELSA’s portfolio is based on over three decades of experience in training and simulation programs offering operational systems that were developed by pilots, tank commanders, infantry commanders and naval officers. This includes acknowledged expertise in providing air crew flight training for the Israel Air Force Flight Academy as well as other international customers. An efficient maintenance concept has been implemented, drastically reducing the number of maintenance personnel while maintaining the highest aircraft availability. The unique combination of actual flight hours together with synthetic training has yielded a cost-effective training solution. ELSA’s portfolio includes training assets such as Helmet Mounted Displays and avionics that allow instructors to monitor trainees' movements and sights, also providing cadet debriefing video. In addition, ELSA uses a unique training management system to monitor trainee trends and advancements correcting flawed flying patterns in real time. The key feature of ELSA’s air-crew training is based on a holistic training system approach as opposed to specific training elements such as the aircraft and simulator. "Total Training Experience" presents ELSA’s innovative, comprehensive training solution, covering basic to operational joint training and eliminating training gaps. From a young cadet to an operational pilot, from training technology to aircraft service provision – ELSA’s solution includes flights school management, logistics services and financing in a cost efficient package. A Full Embedded Training experience can be achieved using the Targo® Helmet Mounted Avionics (HMA) and the EVA (Embedded Virtual Avionics). Targo® is a Helmet Mounted Avionics system that enables pilots to plan, rehearse, fly and debrief using their personal helmets. The systems is easily integrated into any aircraft’s avionics, providing all the benefits of prior helmet mounted display systems, including helmet visor projected imagery and symbology, precision head tracking and cueing. Installing EVA on a basic or advanced trainer aircraft transforms the aircraft into a virtual advanced fighter while maintaining the hourly training costs of a trainer. The EVA virtual avionics suite combined with Targo ® is designed to shorten the large training gap existing today between trainer and modern fighter aircraft. Joint- Live Air, Land and Naval Training Concept: ELSA offers a complete solution for live joint-combined training enabling the unique combination of connected training among pilots, infantry soldiers and naval officers. This concept facilitates efficient live joint-combined training via three live and embedded training systems: Live Combat Training System (LCTS), EHUD® Autonomous Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (AACMI) and Naval Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (NCMI). Live Combat Training System (LCTS). A complete solution for tactical combined arms, force-on-force, live training, the LCTS combines infantry and armoured vehicle laser suites, independent broadband communication and control center capabilities into an integrated, realistic live training solution. It is fully independent and deployable, facilitating efficient training in various terrains and urban areas without the need of sight installation. Key features include a Weapon Engagement System (WES) – live fire with eye-safe laser system, adaptable to any weapon or platform, one laser emitter approach using the automated software controlled adjustable range (A-SCAR) mechanism, high end WiMax communication and realtime control capabilities. A complete solution for urban training includes SUN (Soldier Urban Navigation System), a unique, accurate, independent urban navigation system for dismounted soldiers. Tactical and HQ Training For maintaining and enhancing tactical skills, ELSA’s tactical and collective team trainers are ideal. Combining cutting edge tactical battlefield simulation with actual C4I systems, our advanced concepts adapt to training for high intensity conflicts (HIC) and low intensity conflicts (LIC) scenarios including urban warfare and counter-terror operations as well as any OOTW (Operations Other Than War) and HLS scenarios. Tactical Battle Group Trainer (TBT) combines training of a complete unit or battle group in combined arms and joint operations (armoured/mechanized, infantry, artillery, forward observers, forward air controllers, engineers and logistics). TBT is a highly effective solution for training of commanders and staff from company to battalion and brigade levels. Its unique concept enables battle group leaders to acquire tactical doctrines and to sharpen their command and control skills while practicing various procedures, implementing C4I usage, conducting missionrehearsal and training on an actual geo-specific terrain, in any operational scenario. The system offers cost-effective training, savings in training personnel, shortening setup times and depicting efficient system maintenance. EWTSS – Electronic Warfare Training & Simulation System The EWTSS is a comprehensive solution for training of various Electronic Warfare (EW) systems in diversified battlefield communications scenarios (ground, airborne and naval). It trains the operator how to perform basic as well as comprehensive COMINT procedures, to understand the requirements and implications of each of his/her performed actions and to analyze the results. The EWTSS is comprised of a trainer module and a trainee module. The trainer module allows one to easily define a scenario automatically or manually and even import recordings from the EW battlefield. The trainee module allows the operators to train using the real system Human Machine Interface (HMI). The combination of these two modules results in a well-balanced, diverse and easy to use scenario simulation environment. Cyber Security Simulator ELSA’s cyber simulator was developed specifically for the training of government, military and critical civilian infrastructure cyber defence agencies. It is designed, to enable personal and group training of different users in locating, handling and managing various cyber warfare events and attacks. The simulator also offers training in prevention of cyber warfare events, by simulating network protection scenarios. It includes various network protection scenarios and allows debriefing and evaluation sessions in order to draw conclusions from the trainees’ training performance. The cyber simulator is but one of the number of products developed based upon ELSA’s accumulated know-how and experience in the field. It has attracted much attention from various customers in Israel and abroad, as a result of ELSA’s and its parent company’s extensive experience in land and airborne training and simulating systems and its technological leadership and achievements in the cyber security field.
