Message Testing Findings on International Business Agenda
Rich Thau, President & Founder of Presentation Testing has developed a
fascinating message platform based on the findings of recent work he completed for the
Business Roundtable. The Roundtable has graciously agreed for Rich to present their
findings to our group. His work focuses on demonstrating what language works and
what doesn’t to various target audiences. As we head into next year’s atmosphere of
change in D.C., now is the time to ensure we are effective champions of international
engagement.
10:30 AM Preparing Your Company for Congressional Scrutiny
This session will focus on how a company prepares itself and specifically, its top
executives, for a time when it might become the focus of congressional debate, hearing
or legislation. As U.S. subsidiaries of foreign companies, there are unique challenges
for internal approval for proactive steps on Capitol Hill, choosing a corporate
spokesperson and speaking with the news media. Our panel will share some
fascinating case studies.

Best Practices Session
A mainstay at all OFII Conferences, we have set aside time for participants to discuss
areas of mutual interest that aren’t on the program. One specific topic we will cover is
how many U.S. subsidiaries of foreign companies are explaining their presence and
defining their role in the United States via documents and the internet. This open
forum style is intended to allow for a peer-to-peer sharing of experiences and
brainstorming on solutions to shared problems.
2:30 PM
Latest Trends and Challenges on PAC & Grassroots Endeavors
Our panel will start off our discussion by sharing their companies’ recent experiences
with large scale grassroots efforts and organizing/maintaining a Political Action
Committee. After their remarks, we will open the conversation up to other participants
to offer thoughts on their own experiences in this area. We will also make sure to cover
any unique issues facing U.S. subsidiaries of foreign companies (i.e., how do American
employees feel when a U.S. subsidiary asks them to be politically active on the
company’s behalf?).
