- Title: Sturzebecker Gymnasium Audio System
- Amount: $22,258 – $59,950.
- Purpose: Install an audio system in Sturzebecker gyms 2-5 enabling use by teacher candidates
(primarily incorporating music as part of a lesson), athletics, and after-school activities.
RESEARCH PROJECTS
Status of Walking Instruction in P-12 Physical Education
January 2012 – Present
 Investigating how walking is being taught in P-12 physical education. Walking and its various forms
(leisure, fitness, power and race) are the most popular activity enjoyed by Americans but instruction is
decidedly absent in school PE programs.
 IRB approval for online survey sampling of PE teachers granted in November, 2011
 Creating a comprehensive article as to the status of walking instruction and best practices for
implementing one in schools.
FALCONEST Project
March 2011 – February, 2012
 Collaborative research project with Tab Uhrlich at Townson University examining data from a
$500,000 PEP grant
 Investigating the criteria upon which parents determine the quality of a physical education program.
