Main Responsibility:
To attend to all emergency cases as well as OPD cases.
Overall Responsibility: To provide a quality comprehensive nursing care, institution of emergency
therapeutic management and procedures to all patients under her care.




















Provide emergency treatment and care to all patients irregardless of religion, social
status, nationality, political affiliation.
Attend to the patient conscientiously using his knowledge and skills and attitudes
utilizing the nursing process.
Do all possible nursing care during an emergency demanded by the patient such as
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and other emergency treatment as ordered by the
doctor.
Collects and sends samples for laboratory investigations.
Takes accurately vital signs observes significant changes and informs physician about
patient condition.
Admits patients seeking admissions per doctor’s orders.
Assisting the physician in performing minor cases, suturing wound drainage and others.
Administers medications, parenteral injections, IV infusion under supervision of the
doctor on duty unless otherwise he/she has completed the course on IV therapy.
Render service in out-patient cases, performs ECG and other special procedures using
special equipments.
Assisting the physician in the examination of the patient and allaying fear of patients by
explaining the procedures to be done.
Maintains confidentiality of patient’s records.
Makes accurate reporting, recording in the chart.
Maintains goal interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
Must have a friendly relationship with the patients and relatives.
Transfers and endorses patient to the nursing unit of his condition, medications, and
treatments procedures done.
Coordinates with other members of the health team to meet the needs of the patient.
Makes the necessary reports to the head nurse for any problems that arises during his
tour of duty.
Participates actively in meetings and in service training programs, continuing education
program for the nursing staff for professional growth and development.
Accepts delegated work from his/her supervisor.
Performs additional duties assigned.
