Management, Technical and HSE Training
Global Training Goals and Objectives:
The goal of Management, Technical and HSE training is to develop and implement career
oriented courses for Scomi employees and valued customers. The primary objective is to
establish technical training programs that are content consistent to ensure standardization
across Scomi Oiltools and , to deploy these courses in a regular and timely manner. In order to
compete in a world market, employees need to participate in these technical training courses
and develop competent skills to meet career developmental criteria while realizing their
individual potential within the company. It is important for each employee to gain the skills
and competencies required for Scomi Oiltools to gain sustainable competitive advantages from
this primary Human Capital Investment. The ROI on Human Capital Investment will reap
positive results quickly when coupled with ‘Management Mentoring’ and ‘Job Task Skills
Coaching.’ The core focus is to offer management, HSE Competencies and technical training to
employees that will allow Scomi Oiltools to be competent and to be able to compete in the
global marketplace. For this to work each employee must be able to visualize a career path and
have verifiable competencies for all jobs skills, plus management must be able to have a clear
picture of the human capital available to the organization. Each Manager must be able to know
how succession planning, staff organizational recommendations and mentoring are functioning
to be able to make sustainability decisions for the company.
It is also a core focus area of the technical training group, in partnership with other areas in
SCOMI Oiltools, to create comprehensive technical training programs that will be globally
standardized and where possible recognized by industry approving bodies such as IADC.. This
will contribute to making SCOMI Oiltools technically knowledgeable, environmentally aware and
above all safe
Management, HSE Competencies and Technical Courses Overview:
The focus of Scomi Oiltools training is on courses that pertain to people working in all field
operations plus staff support functions. Management, Technical Training and HSE Courses
developed are already being taught within SCOMI Oiltools and are great in number. These
courses are being taught in various geographic areas. There are a number of management level
course already in place and operational management courses are planned. The courses listed
below are in various stages of development and implementation both in the field and in office
environments.
Furthermore, there are many HSE Competency courses already developed or purchased for use
in all Regions. These are available and standardized and can be used for regulatory
requirements and tender contract compliance.
Training and Development includes continuous improvement, and use of E-learning for
knowledge aspects of HSE competencies and Management and Technical Training to be able to
focus on verification of applied competency skills.
