Algebra II Honors Curriculum and Pacing Guide Revised June, 2007 Curriculum and Pacing Guide Mathematics: Algebra II Honors Textbook: Algebra and Trigonometry Structure and method: McDougal Littel General notes: 1. For classes taught in the fall term, SAT / PSAT review should be concentrated in August and September. For courses taught second term, these reviews should occur in May during AP testing and other schoolrelated activities. 2. All tests are cumulative. For each chapter after the first, assign important review problems and include similar ones on the test. Research indicates that recall and retention will be enhanced. 3. As much as possible, make lessons relevant with real-world applications and examples. NCTM publications and websites are excellent resources. 4. Use graphing calculators as a resource for exploration and enhancement. Students should master algebraic processes by hand first, then on the calculator. 5. Benchmarks and FCAT test question type are indicated as appropriate. Include a few FCAT-type questions on tests, quizzes and worksheets. Supplement the curriculum with FCAT review of Strands B, C and E.
