Counselor (October 2003-current)
Counseling Center, University of California, Irvine; Irvine CA. Conduct intakes and individual and group
psychotherapy. Primarily crisis management and brief psychotherapy (approximately 8 sessions). Utilize both
technique- and process-oriented treatment approaches. Work in setting with diversity in staff and clientele.
Specialize in stress management, coping with medical illness, anxiety disorders, depression, body images
issues, college adjustment, and Asian American issues. Give presentations to student groups and interns.

Postdoctoral Fellow (September 2001-August 2002)
Behavioral Medicine Program, Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School; Cambridge, MA.
Conducted intakes and individual and group psychotherapy. Used integrative cognitive-behavioral therapies,
hypnosis, and biofeedback utilizing a biopsychosocial model to treat a wide range of psychological, medical,
and habit disorders. Attended advanced seminars on biofeedback, hypnosis, integrative treatment,
psychopharmacology, and trauma. Diagnoses included anxiety disorders, chronic pain syndromes, mood
disorders, eating disorders, nicotine dependence, and substance abuse. Supervisor: Amaro Laria, Ph.D.
Psychology Intern (August 2000 – August 2001)
Long Beach Veterans Administration Health System; Long Beach, CA. Conducted individual, couples, and
group psychotherapy, administered psychological evaluations, and attended medical rounds. Rotations
included work in the areas of primary care, general medicine, cardiology, spinal cord injury, chronic pain,
infectious diseases, oncology, dialysis, hospice, and neuropsychology. Involved work in outpatient and

Emergency Services Crisis Clinician (May 1999 - August 2000)
Service Net; Northampton, MA. Evaluated psychiatric emergencies, diagnosed presenting problems, and
conducted short-term crisis counseling, level of care assessments, and phone triages. Required knowledge of
community services and involved frequent consultations with psychiatrists, the police department, and/or
