“OUTSIDE IN ASPEN” TAKES PLACE JUNE 11 - 13
Two-night Lodging Packages Start at $99 per person
ASPEN, Colo. (June 3, 2010) – Aspen Chamber Resort Association (ACRA) and Outside magazine,
published by Mariah Media Inc., first annual Outside in Aspen, a participatory, adventure weekend in
Aspen for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels June 11 – 13, 2010.
Outside in Aspen two-night lodging packages are available through Stay Aspen Snowmass, and start at
$99 per person based on double occupancy at the following properties: Aspen Mountain Lodge, Limelight
Lodge, Aspen Square Condominium Hotel, Hearthstone House, The Gant, The Sky Hotel, Hotel Jerome
and The Little Nell.
The Outside in Aspen package, which must be booked through Stay Aspen Snowmass, is subject to
availability, based on double occupancy, and does not include taxes or fees. The Outside in Aspen $200
Adventure Passport includes all the following:
Friday – Welcome Party at Sky Hotel with Gift Bag
Saturday (National Get Outdoors Day) – ½ day activity followed by Après Pool Party at the Hotel Jerome
Sunday – ½ day activity followed by Adventure Athlete Panel Discussion* and Lunch
*Panel Discussion: The Right Stuff—How 5 Elite Athletes Got to the Top with Celebrity Athletes: Melissa
Arnot, the first woman to summit Everest three times, Extreme Kayaker Jesse Coombs, World Champion
Free-Skier Chris Davenport, Olympic Gold Medalist Cyclist Tyler Hamilton and Everest Guide Jake
Norton.
Saturday and Sunday – Base Camp festivities featuring Outside Magazines Gear of the Year
Sunday – Outward Bound will be hosting a trail restoration project in Aspen. Sign up at their Base Camp
booth on Saturday, June 12th if you would like to help.
Participants can sign up for the half-day activities including kayaking, rafting, stand-up paddle boarding,
road biking, mountain biking, fly fishing or rock climbing. Aspen Alpine Guides is also offering an
advanced Road Biking Clinic with Tyler Hamilton Training, as well as special high-altitude trail running
and hiking clinics with pro-endurance athletes.
In addition to the two-day package, the organizers announced today a NEW one-day pass for $100 which
will include all activities on that day.

Acclaimed ultra-marathoner Ricky Gates will lead trail running/hiking clinics on both Saturday and Sunday
(offered by Aspen Alpine Guides).
Those who make donations to Leave No trace will be entered into giveaway for prizes from The North
Face, Pentax, Black Diamond, Montbell, Patagonia, Marmot and more.
Outfitters providing activities include the following: Aspen Alpine Guides, Aspen Expeditions, Aspen
Kayak Academy, Aspen Outfitting Company, Aspen Velo, Aspen Whitewater, Blazing Adventures, Sun
Dog Athletics, Taylor Creek Fly Fishing, and Timberline Bike Tours.
Aspen’s stunning mountains, trails, rivers, rock faces and roads will serve as venues for guided adventure
activities for athletes of all abilities. The weekend will also include parties, opportunities to interact with
professional adventure athletes and Outside personalities, including Olympic Gold Medalist Tyler
Hamilton, Everest climber and photographer Jake Norton, big mountain skier Chris Davenport, Everest
mountaineer Melissa Arnot, extreme kayaker Jesse Coombs, a symposium with experts addressing
various adventure topics and the Outside Buyer’s Guide Gear Experience. Leave No Trace is the nonprofit event beneficiary.
