LOCATION: 31st Civil Engineer Squadron, Operations Flight/CEO, Aviano Air Base, Italy.
MAJOR DUTIES: The primary purpose of this position is to use varied functions of multiple office automation software
to produce a wide range of documents and to perform clerical support work for the Operations Flight Commander’s office
and Element Chiefs. Uses varied functions of multiple office automation software to include computer programs unique to
CES to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc. Processes and reviews travel orders in the Defense Travel System
(DTS). Uses word processing software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print forms, memos, and letters; uses
existing database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports and uses
graphics software to provide graphs and charts for reports and presentations. Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing
correspondence, materials, regulations, and directives (e.g. Enlisted and Officer Performance Reports (EPRs/OPRs),
Decorations, Performance Appraisals, Civilians’ Time & Attendance and pay, travel orders, training and awards). Works
with Civilian Personnel Office, Military Personnel Office and other activities in updating and maintaining various reports
and documentations. As requested, downloads publications and forms from electronic publications/forms systems and
distributes using electronic mail. Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other
documents. Using automated schedulers or calendars, establishes suspense dates and brings to supervisor’s attention those
that cannot be met by requested date or when there is a conflict. Coordinates, monitors and tracks construction and/or
service project Purchase Requests (PRs) for Flight’s elements using both automated software and manual formats.
Proofreads/edits correspondence and documents for correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and format.

QUALIFICATIONS: Interested applicants must possess 1 (one) year of general experience which is progressively
responsible clerical, office or other work which indicates the ability to acquire particular knowledge and skills needed to
perform the duties of the position to be filled.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: 2 (two) years above High School or 1 (one) year of Italian
university may substitute for 1 (one) year of general clerical experience. Applicants must submit a copy of the certificate
form the recognized university, listing all the exams and grades.
Good command of the English and Italian languages is required, subject to testing.
A qualified typist is required. Minimum typing requirements: 40 words per minute. Subject to self-certification.
