AP World History - Final Project
Congratulations on nearing the end of AP World History. Before you move on, a final project
must be completed. There are several options that are available for your final project which
include a PowerPoint Presentation, Historical Skit, or Historical Song…
1) PowerPoint Presentation:
 Create a “This Day in History” PowerPoint presentation
 Research and present an event that took place on a particular day in history –
this must be related to WORLD history, not U.S. related (If you are unsure,
run it by me first!).
 The presentation should highlight key facts, include at least 10 graphics
(maps, graphs, and other visuals), and average 15 slides
 You may work with ONE partner, but the requirements are increased to 15
graphics and 20 slides (no more than 2 people per presentation).
 Helpful internet link for days in history:
http://www.historyorb.com/today/index.php
 Please refrain from using extraneous sounds in your .ppt – also make sure the
text is readable for an audience
2) Historical Skit:
 Create a humorous, fact-filled, 6 minute skit (please try to not go over this
time limit) between 2-4 characters that might have occurred in a historical
setting. For example, the Ottoman Harem, Chinese court, European saloon, UN
Security Council, World Bank, a gathering of Old Testament prophets, or some
other acceptable historical setting (run ideas by me).
 The skit can be group project of 2-4 people, MAXIMUM.
 You must visually record your skit and be able be able to play it on the LCD
projector through a laptop in class (e.g., MPEG, iMovie, MovieMaker, etc., on a
flash drive or CD-R).
 Make sure your skit is appropriate, clean, and respectful (no foul language or
content).
3) Historical Song:
 You may write/record an original song in which the lyrics tell of a historical
event or person.
 The song can be group project of 2-4 people, MAXIMUM.
 You should record your song so it can be playable through a laptop PC and
projected through the class LCD projector (e.g., MPEG, iMovie, MovieMaker, etc.,
on a flash drive or CD-R).
 Make sure your skit is appropriate, clean, and respectful (no foul language or
content).
Scoring Guidelines and Due Dates:

The final project is worth a total of 60 points – have fun with it, but
please take the grading seriously as this is the last class
assignment.

intro, body, and conclusion (15 points)
Presentation Component = 45 points
 Written Summary Component = 15 points
 Total = 60 points

