Directions, geometric planes, and cavities of the body are presented. Cells, tissues, organs, and systems are discussed. The major organs of each system and how they relate to the overall status of the body are covered. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Distinguish between anatomy and physiology. 2. List the major parts of a cell. 3. Describe types of tissues and membranes. 4. Identify the structural units of the human body. 5. Identify location, direction, planes, and cavities of the human body. 6. Describe the structure and normal function of the systems of the body: Integumentary, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Musculoskeletal, Neurosensory, Endocrine, Gastrointestinal, Genito-Urinary, and Reproductive. Grading Scale: A 90-100% B 80-89% C 77-79% ( 77% is passing grade for this course) D 60-76% F 59% or below Course Grade Determination: Quizzes/Homework – 20% Unit Exams - 30% Comprehensive Final- 50% NO missed Quiz can be made-up.
