company and to mentor more junior staff to become more effective in
both the workplace and in life in general.

Engineering Technical Specialist
 Directly managing team reservoir engineers (3 people) overseeing the
miscible enhanced oil recovery operations of three tertiary miscible floods
in Rainbow Lake Alberta.
This was part-time(three days per week), doing the job of a recently
retired “Manager of Enhanced Oil Recovery”. It also included managing
projects related to acid gas injection and NGL sales for the Rainbow
Lake area.

 Directly managing team of geologists, geophysicists, production, reservoir
staff (22 people) as well as field operations staff (125 personnel).
Field operations included a major gas plant and oil battery processing
170 mmcfd of raw gas, 20 MBbls/d of oil and 60 MBbls/d of water, and
injecting 16 MBbls/d of NGL’s, 100 mmcfd of gas and 25 MBbls/d of
water to enhance oil recovery. It also included both operated and nonoperated sweet gas gathering and processing facilities.

Supervised three Project Leaders, with a group of nine engineers and
technologists and three co-op students, evaluating oil and gas leases for
drilling and acquisition.
 Completed an engineering review of the Willesden Green miscible flood
and managed of oil properties including waterfloods.

Held various positions, starting with field engineer, in Edmonton, then
reservoir engineer and completions engineer in Calgary.
 Became Supervisor of Petroleum Engineering, which conducted
reservoir studies, prepared government applications, designed and
started new waterfloods, prepared waterflood and unit operations reports,
and sat on joint interest technical committees. This included all of Gulf
Canada operated fields and pools.

1. Industry Advisory Committee – U of C Petroleum Engineering
Program – participated in discussions of curriculum and other
issues and opportunities related to the U of C Petroleum
Engineering Department.

2. PTAC – served as a Director for one term and sat on the “Increased
Recovery Steering Committee” – advising and directing research
aimed at increasing recovery of conventional oil and gas.
3. Petroleum Society of CIM – Served on the Technical Subcommittee
for five Annual Technical Conferences and one Horizontal Well
Conference, serving as the Technical Chairman in one Annual
Technical Conference. Also, co-chaired six sessions and judged
student papers in three sessions. Served two terms as a Director of
the Petroleum Society (four years), acting in the capacities of
Treasurer, Director of Publications, Technical Program Director
(monthly technical meetings), and Administration Director.
4. Served as Director of the Petroleum Recovery Institute for two terms
and as an active participant, representing Husky on two PRI
Technical Advisory Groups.
5. Active participant in the DEA-44 Horizontal Well Drilling research
project, including chairing of the Organizing Committee of one
annual meeting.
6. Coordinated and participated in many inter-company synergy
meetings with ExxonMobil and Imperial for the Rainbow Lake area
and acted as Chair of the Mobil/Husky Rainbow Lake Operating
Committee for four years. Also, attended several meetings of the
Swan Hills Synergy Group during discussions of EOR activity with
Alberta Department of Energy.
7. Taught a three day course on Hydrocarbon Miscible Flooding to the
Japanese National Oil Corporation.
