PT. Maspion and its subsidiaries are the members of Maspion Group, and one of the
largest consumer durable good producer in the world. They possess strong expertise in
marketing and manufacturing wide series of quality houseware products of kitchenwares,
plastic housewares, glasswares, and electrical home appliances. PVC and PE pipes are
also available for residential and household purposes.

The company has become a well recognized OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing)
players in the world, supplies some well known retail stores and wholesalers in United
States as well as other major countries in the world.
Kitchenwares
The kitchenware business units produces a wide range kitchenware products, ranging
from non stick, enamel, aluminium, stainless steel, altogether complete with the kitchen
tools, cutlery, as well as other accessories. These product items have continued to
demonstrate a strong track record, and have been highly acclaimed for nearly a decade, in
the domestic market and fast growing performance in the export market. Principal export
markets include USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, Asean and European. Wide
acknowledged brand names are Maxim, Maspion, Logam Jawa, Aubecq, and Tivoli.
Plastic Housewares
In response of today’s needs that many plastic housewares serve as effective substitute products,
PT. Maspion plastic houseware business unit produces household made from plastics, wide
ranging from cookwares, tablewares, brushes, brooms, containers, cabinets, bathroom series,
piles, and any other accessories, as well as PVC and PE pipes plus its fittings and accessories.
Together with its subsidiary company, PT. Maspion Kencana, the company is the leading
producer of PVC pipes in domestic market.
Glasswares
Through its subsidiary company, PT. Ishizuka Maspion Indonesia, it manufactures and markets
glasswares both for export and domestic markets, both standard and OEM products.
Electrical Home Appliances
This business unit produces both the small ticket items and big ticket items, ranging from
kitchenwares like rice cooker, blender and juicer, toaster, microwave, up to fan, iron, hair dryer,
water dispenser, washing machine, decorative ceiling fan, air conditioner, refrigerator (PT.
Maspion Elektronik), freezer, and water pump. Brand name are ‘Uchida’ and ‘Maspion’. All
products are offered with a life time warranty for service.

The history started back in the year 1962 from UD Logam Jawa, a modest kitchenware
home industry established by Mr. Alim Husin.

HISTORY
In 1962, Mr. Alim Husin and Mr. Gunardi established a home industry business in production
and selling the aluminium kitchenwares called UD. Logam Jawa. Since then, the company has
gradually built up its customer base and gain recognition in the industry as quality and reliable
manufacturer. Today, the company is one of Indonesia's most respected group of companies,
shaped by the expertise in product innovation and strong spirit of entrepreneurship of the
founders. Alim Husin has realized his vision of turning the group into a prominent business force
in Indonesia. This mission is supported by his sons, Alim Markus, Alim Mulia Sastra, Alim
Satria, and Alim Prakasa. In recent years, a number of independent career executives have also
dedicated their efforts to the success of the group. The company employs around 14,000 people
with production facilities spread out in five industrial area in Sidoarjo and Gresik, East Java.
Through the dedication and hard work of its employees, shaped by the strong entrepreneurship
and vision of the founders, the company has been able to maintain its leading position in the
houseware industry, exhibit continued growth, and creating more values for all the stakeholders.
Time Line:
1960’s Foundation of the company
1962 UD Logam Jawa establishment by Mr. Alim Husin as a modest aluminium kitchenware
home industry, with eight employees.
1970’s Establishing the foundation of diversified consumer business
1971 Establishment of PT. Maspion, starting from aluminium cookwares and plasticwares.
1974 Starting to produce plastic made pipes, the PVC pipes, and its accessories.
1975 Expanded into Steel housewares and Electrical home appliances manufacturing business.
1980-90’s More consumer businesses joined the stream, coupled by strategic alliances and
joint ventures, and quality certification.
1980 Stainless steel kitchenware was being added in product lines.
1987 Producing Non Stick kitchenwares. Brand names include Maxim and Tivoli.
1988 Starting to produce Enamel kitchenwares, Panda brand name.
1989 Refrigerator manufacturing business was started through the subsidiary company PT.
Maspion Elektronik. PE pipes, as part of PVC pipe product line extension, and Polyfoam
products as packaging materials, were also produced.
1990 Joint venture company to produce Fluorescent lamps, PT. TFC Maspion Indonesia, and
starting to produce decorative ceiling fan through subsidiary company of PT. Alaskair
Maspion.
1992 Try ply bottom stainless steel kitchenwares joined the stream.
1993 Evaporator as component of refrigerator was commercially produced.
1993 Air conditioners, with Uchida brand name were produced, as well as cutlery products
through subsidiary company PT. Maspion Flatware.
1995 Washing Machine, with Uchida brand name were produced
1996 PT. Maxim Maspion, a subsidiary to produce copper clad stainless steel products was
established using built up plant of ‘Revere’ producer in United States. A new subsidiary
engaged in glassware manufacturing business was also established, PT. Ishizuka Maspion
Indonesia. In addition to those, PT. Siam Maspion Polymers was established to supply the
raw materials requirement of PVC pipe manufacturing business.
1997 PT. Maspion Elektronik received ISO 9002:1994 certification
2000 Non Stick kitchenware division received ISO 9001 certification.
2002 PT. Alaskair Maspion received ISO 9001 certification. PT. Maspion Elektronik received
ISO 9001:2000 certification
2003 PT. Maspion Kencana received ISO 9001 certification.

THE FOUNDER
Mr. Alim Husin
Mr. Alim Husin has established the solid foundation of the Group back in the year 1962 with
strong spirit, enthusiasm, persistence, hard work, and entrepreneurial vision, starting from a small
operation of oil lamp making develops today as one of the largest and prominent business group
in Indonesia, ranging from consumer durable products, industrial products, industrial estate, and
commercial banking. Through his dedication and great passion, he preserve in a great deal the
employees contribution to be part of his successes. He has beliefs that aligned and committed
people help create competitive advantage of the company. His spirit of love and respect for his
work often moves people. Today’s business size and success has become the concrete evidence of
his talents and beliefs.
Mr. Alim Husin has passed away in October 2003, and left so many memorable memories which
has inspired the whole Maspion Group to continue developing and transforming itself into one of
the leading and prominent business group in Indonesia. His honorable vision of company would
still remain lies deep as the anchor of the company journeys, now and forever

Angkasa Rachmawati, Chairman
Indonesia Citizen, served as Commissioner of the company since 1971 until October 2003, and
Chairman thereafter. She currently hold several strategic position such as Chairman of PT Indal
Aluminium Industry and PT Alumindo Light Metal Industry, and also hold strategic position as
Chairman posts in the companies within the Group
Alim Prakasa, Commissioner
Indonesian citizen, Commissioner of PT Maspion. He completed his degree at St. Mary
University, Canada in 1981. Joined with the Group since 1981 as a Managing Director He
currently holds several strategic positions with the Maspion Group, including Commissioner of
PT Maspion Electronik and President Director of PT Maxim Maspion, Executive Managing
Director of PT Indal Aluminium Industry, Managing Director of PT Alumindo Light Metal
Industry and also hold several strategic positions as Commissioner and Managing Director posts
in the companies within the Group.
Alim Markus, President Director
Indonesian citizen, President Director of PT Maspion and Maspion Group. Held the position of
President Director since 1971 and has been with the Group for his entire career. Currently he
holds several board positions in the Maspion Group as well as Vice Chairman Of East Java
Indonesia Chamber of Commerce, Honorary Consul- Consulate of Canada, Chairman of
Indonesia-China Association and also completed the institutional course at Pan Pacific
Professional Management, Taiwan R.O.C, and also hold several strategic positions as Chairman,
Commissioner and Managing Director in the companies within the Group.
Alim Mulia Sastra, Executive Managing Director
Indonesia citizen, Executive Managing Director of PT Maspion. Completed his Business study in
Singapore, 1974. Initially joined with the Maspion Group in 1975, he has held the position as
Managing Director of PT Alumindo Light Metal Industry, Managing Director of PT Indal Light
Metal Industry, Commissioner of PT Maspion Trading and currently also holds several strategic
positions as Commissioner and Managing Director in the companies within the Group.
Alim Satria, Executive Managing Director
Indonesian Citizen, Executive Managing Director of PT Maspion. Completed his business study
at Ngee An Polytechnic in Singapore, 1975. Initially joined with Maspion Group in 1981. He
subsequently hold Executive Managing Director of PT. Alumindo Light Metal Industry, President
Directors of PT Maspion Stainless Steel Indonesia, and also hold strategic position as
Commissioner and Managing Director posts in the companies within the Group.
Gunardi Go, Executive Managing Director
Indonesian citizen, Managing Director of PT Maspion. He has been with the Group since 1965.
He Currently hold several strategic position such as Commissioner of PT Indal Aluminium
Industry and PT Alumindo Light Metal Industry, commissioner of PT Maspion Trading, and also
hold strategic position as Managing Director and Commissioner posts in the companies within the
Group.
Andy Tjandra
Indonesian citizen, Human Resources Director of PT Maspion. Completed his degree in
University of Yos Sudarso, Indonesia in 1989 and began his career with PT Maspion since
1984.In 1984 - 1989 served as a Head of General Department, and afterward appointed as an
Assistant Director in 1994-1998. Mr Andy presently hold position as a Human Resources
Director of PT Maspion since 1998.
MASPION GROUP
Maspion Group is an integrated diversified group, which offers products and services ranging
from consumer durables and electronics, chemicals, packaging materials, metal rolling,
construction materials, property or industrial estate development and contractor, and commercial
banking business. Its significant venture was started by the founders, Alim and Gunardi family in
1962, with its small home industry of aluminium kitchenwares which was then incorporated into
PT. Maspion in 1971. Apart from PT. Maspion which has strong expertise in consumer durables
business, other members of the group also demonstrated a strong track record in metal processing
business and have been listed at the JSX and SSX in 1994 and 1997, i.e PT. Indal Aluminium
Industry Tbk (Indal) in aluminium extrusion and PT. Alumindo Light Metal Industry Tbk (Almi)
in aluminium sheet and foil. Indal and Almi have become the leaders in aluminium processing
industry in the country.
In addition to developing its own companies, the stature of the Maspion Group has attracted
respected multinational corporations to become joint venture partners, i.e: Marubeni Itochu Steel
Inc., Hanwa Kozai Co., Ltd, JFE Steel Corporation, Kanematsu Corporation, Naomoto Industry
Co. Ltd, The Furukawa Electric, Ltd., Toyota Tsusho Corporation Japan, Taiwan Fluorescent
Lamp Co.Ltd, Taiwan, Ishizuka Glass Co., Japan, Srithai Superware Public Company, Thailand,
Weilburger Lacke Handelsges, Germany, etc. There are still many more promising ventures
under negotiations and yet to come.
Today, the Maspion Group is one of Indonesia's most respected groups of companies, totaling of

The company manufactures carton sheets and cardboard boxes to provide packaging needs of
major industry, including Maspion Group.
PT. Indal Steel Pipe
Steel pipe manufacturer
Specializing in manufacturing of Double Submerged Arc Welded steel pipe with wide range
dimensions and accompanied by international standards, the company has been the partner of
various projects, from water to oil and gas transmission line. Pipes lined with polyethylene and
conventional methods like coaltar, epoxy painting and cement lining are components of its
product range.
PT. Shanghai Maspion Oleo Chemical Industry
A joint venture company between PT. Maspion Investindo and Shanghai Soap Factory Co. Ltd
and Shanghai Light Industrial Corporation for Foreign Economic & Technical Cooperation,
where both partners are from China, specializes in soap manufacturer, with well known brand of
“Bee and Flower”. It also produces other branded bath soaps as well as tailor-made bath soap for
hotels and other various customers.

The company specializes in toothpaste manufacturing business, with main brand name of
“Maxam” under license from China. It was established as a joint venture company between PT.
Maspion Investindo and Shanghai Toothpaste Factory Co Ltd and Shanghai Light Industrial
Corporation for Foreign Economic & Technical Cooperation, both from China.

Joint venture between PT. Maspion Investindo and Cementhai Chemicals (Singapore) Pte Ltd., a
subsidiary company of a prominent group in Thailand. Located at Maspion Industrial Estate area,

materials.

textile industry.

Singapore National Academy, the International School
As part of its social commitment and responsibility, Maspion Group has developed Singapore
National Academy, an International school based on the Singapore curriculum. The school
provides the best western and eastern pedagogy, starting from the earliest stage of children’s
education in playgroup up to high school. English is the primary language of instruction, and
Chinese and Indonesian as second languages. All children shall be provided with an education

In recognition of its continued support and outstanding services in the development of
Federated Department Stores, Private Brands and Labels, PT. Maspion has received a
Five Star Award, from Federated Merchandising Group, USA for the service year of
2003.

19 October 2003: Mr. Alim Husin, the founder and Chairman of Maspion Group has
passed away in Fuqing, China. Funeral ceremony was on 2 November 2003 at the same
location. In company organization structure, Mr. Alim Husin position has been replaced
by Mrs.Angkasa Rachmawati, formerly the commissioner of the company.

On 11 July 2003, PT.Maspion has raised a Rp 500 billion bond, listed and traded on
Surabaya Stock Exchange with fixed interest rate of 13.5%p.a The Maspion Bond I, Year
2003 will expiry on 8 July 2008, and has amortization schedule of Rp 100 billion on 8
July 2006, Rp 150 billion on 8 July 2007, and Rp 250 billion on 8 July 2008. Around Rp
250 billion of the bond is entirely used for refinancing program to lower the effective
interest rate, and the rest is for working capital purposes. As of 31 March 2004, all funds
have been fully utilized. Net gearing level of the company is around 90-100%. The bond
is rated idA with stable outlook by Pefindo (Indonesia Rating Agent, in association with
Standard and Poor). Prior due diligence meeting and Public Expose on this bond offering
is launched on 27 May 2003, at Hilton Hotel, Jakarta, Indonesia.

2 November 2002 – Soft Opening Maspion Square, a shopping center at Raya Margorejo
Surabaya, Indonesia, owned by the company. Situated in an area of 57.000 sqm, has one
biggest tenant of Giant Hypermarket. Products of the company are also sold in the
complex through Giant Hypermarket and Maspion Bazar, as well as Maxim Housewares.

PT Maspion has been named as a Sears Partner in Progress for 2002. This prestigious
award is presented annually to a select group of vendor companies that supply Sears,
Roebuck and Co. with quality products and services, from apparel, appliances and tools
to marketing, transportation services and technology. More than 10,000 sources
competed for this award in 2002. Prakasa Alim, Tarno Lo were honored on April 8 at an
event hosted by Sears Chairman and CEO Alan J. Lacy at Sears headquarters in Hoffman
Estates, IL. In the same year, PT. Maspion has also been named as Vendor of the Year of
the same customer.
