Project Description The objective of Microsoft/GP Strategies: Social Enterprise Learning Project (the Project) project is to develop 8 courses related to Social Enterprise Management by March 15, 2013. Content will be designed to meet the following standards: Content is contextualized: Courses are contextualized to the development/relief sector, including scenarios and design approaches that reflect the operational environment of NGOs. Content is accessible: Each course topic includes curricular materials in four formats that allow users to select the format that best address the needs (and constraints) of the learner: o Self-led format: e-Learning content that people to learn, practice and assess new skills. o Face-to-Face format: resources that allow facilitators to lead workshops. o Facilitated On-line Synchronous format: resources that allow facilitators to lead courses in an on-line virtual classroom. o Facilitated On-line Asynchronous format: resources that allow facilitators to instruct groups via on-line asynchronous communities. Content is shared free of charge via the internet with individuals and organizations working in the sector. Content is customizable: LINGOs member agencies interested in organization-specific deployment have the option of accessing and modifying source files. 2. Objectives and High Level Activities Objective One: Project Design Complete for 8 courses (January 7, 2012) o Source Materials and Guidance documents distributed o Scope of courses identified o Learning Objectives and Course Completion Assessments developed Objective Two: Self-Led Learning Modules complete for 8 courses (February 15, 2013) o Course output files will be SCORM compatible, built using a standard template provide by the Microsoft and GP Strategies teams. Guidance on the development of self-led content is available in the Last Mile Learning Guidelines and Norms for Self-Led Learning Resources. o Upon completion of the self-led course, learners who complete a 10-15 question end of course learning assessment will receive a personalized .pdf certificate of completion. o Individuals and organizations with low- or no-bandwidth access will have the option to access content via two options: CD-ROM versions of Last Mile Learning content available to individuals/organizations who lack internet access. Downloadable Access: Organizations/individuals with low-bandwidth or intermittent connectivity will have the option to download materials in a webcompatible format that can be loaded to LANs. Objective Three: Facilitated Learning Modules complete for 8 courses (March 5, 2013) o Facilitated Learning Resources will be made available in three formats: F2F, blended online synchronous and blended on-line asynchronous. o Facilitated Learning Resources are developed using the same learning objectives and end of course learning assessment questions as the Self-Led Learning Module. o Guidance on the development of facilitated content is available in the Last Mile Learning Guidelines and Norms for Facilitated Learning Resources documents.
