ANNOUNCEMENTS April 26, 2015 ______________________________________________________________________________ “Our task is to make disciples for Jesus Christ” We welcome you to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Thank you for worshiping with us, as we give thanks and praise to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. If you are new, please introduce yourself to Pastor Katie, sign the guest book and the pew pad. We would love to give you a token of appreciation for worshiping here today. The Sanctuary candle burns in loving memory of Patricia Acee by her husband Abe. The Altar flowers are in loving memory of Rick Hilts by the Hilts family. For April, our Mission of the Month is ELCA Good Gifts and ELCA World Hunger. This year we invite you to help “Provide a Pig” with your donations ($30 buys a pig for a family in Haiti) and color a pig, just for fun. Thank you for supporting the April Mission of the Month – even a handful of pocket change can help. All youth are invited to help with our roadside cleanup on Saturday, May 2nd from 9-11 am. The gloves, bags, shovels and a truck will be here at 9. There will be donuts and juice to energize the workers! If you have any questions, please contact Jenn Rossi at 271-9689. Our next Messy Church is fast approaching on Friday, May 8, 6-8 pm! Hands-on, casual church for everyone, with lots to do. Come for dinner, stay for the fun! Vanderkamp brochures are running behind this year, but there are flyers on the Welcome Table with details about the 2015 season. The theme is “Summer of Peace and Love” to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vanderkamp! Please check out the flyers and consider spending some time in the great outdoors this summer. The Verona Food Pantry is in great need of peanut butter and any type of pasta. There is a box in the narthex for these items. Thank you! We are continuing our can tab collection for Synod Assembly in the large plastic jar on the Welcome Table. Assembly is in one month so the pressure is on! Thanks! Check out the second bulletin board in the hallway for information on Tons of Love, a service project that takes left-behind things from the SU dorms and gives them away to people who need them in Syracuse. Volunteers are needed for this transforming ministry coordinated by First English Lutheran Church. Meet the Bishop at Spring Conference Assembly! The date is Sunday, May 3, 2:30 pm at St. Paul’s in Liverpool. Business will be kept to a minimum so everyone has a chance to converse with him. Let Pastor Katie know if you’d like to go.
