As we seek to grow our business, we are recruiting for an Affiliate Marketing and online Business Development professional to help lead the efforts in supporting the customer acquisition and growth initiatives of our eCommerce Department. What will you be doing for us? You will have the opportunity to make a difference in this hands-on role. As the Affiliate Marketing and Online Business Development Specialist, you will lead the effort to grow our overall business through growth in third-party relationships, including Affiliate Marketing, strategic online partnerships and new business development and project management. Part producer, part rainmaker, and all go-getter, this role has broad responsibilities that include analyzing opportunities, developing channel and project goals/ budgets/ P&Ls, creating and managing new project plans, recruiting and retaining affiliates and other online business and advertising partnerships, and optimizing related programs based on key metrics. This important business growth role encompasses: Affiliate Marketing Owns, develops, and manages affiliate program from end to end, achieving aggressive revenue goals and ROI target for program. Develops strategy for affiliate program, including awareness, acquisition and retention tactics to achieve program targets. Manages and builds relationship with affiliate management service (Commission Junction) to ensure partnership in a growing program. Identifies, recruits, and develops relationships to former and new potential affiliates. Optimizes current affiliate network and partners, develops relationships with key affiliates, and negotiates for better placement and visibility. Serves as primary contact for affiliate relationships including assisting affiliates with HTML links, promotions, reporting, and commission payments. Manages all affiliate communications and responds to and resolves affiliate inquiries and concerns. Performs ongoing best-practices analysis of other merchant affiliate programs, and makes recommendations for enhancements for overall program. Online Advertising and External Partnerships Analyzes, recommends, and oversees participation in new third party advertising programs and eCommerce partnerships, such as online co-registration programs, display advertising (Yahoo, AOL, Facebook, etc.), ad and link barters and exchanges, etc. Advises and directs existing external advertising, marketing and vendor partnerships to ensure maximization of results (eBay, contests, etc.). Monitors all external partner data feeds and makes recommendations to optimize. Manages optimization of website for partnership performance, recommending new promotions, web pages, content, and categories to maximize results with top partner programs. New Initiatives Research, Analysis and Project Management Identifies new markets and strategic eCommerce partnerships to extend our online business. Analyzes and prepares program proposals and budgets, complete with P&L projections. Performs research on techniques, tools, products, and promotions to enhance overall eCommerce performance. Leads contract negotiations to ensure favorable results for Collections Etc. Develops and manages new initiative projects to launch. What do you need to bring to the table? We require a strong, extroverted individual who is result driven and able to identify, recruit, and maintain relationships with affiliates and other external partners. This individual must be creative and able to provide us with strategies, techniques, tools, and ideas to offer unique programs to our partners compared to other merchants. Required skills/experience: o Demonstrated success growing a successful eCommerce Affiliate Marketing program (Commission Junction preferred) from an advertiser (merchant company) perspective. o Experience negotiating contracts and proven ability to influence internal and external partners. o Experience with strategic marketing planning and program management, product feed management and optimization. Ideal candidates will possess: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Communications, E-Commerce or related discipline strongly preferred. Experience in Catalog industry or high-volume e-tail a plus. Strong initiative and a self-starter who actively works to optimize programs and look for new growth opportunities. Willingness to actively recruit, network, and maintain affiliate and partner relationships. Demonstrated familiarity with online marketing and advertising business concepts, contracts and terms, and ability to lead negotiations with vendors on new business and manage the contract review process. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with a diverse audience; strong interpersonal skills. Good planning, organizing, and time management skills. Effectively handles multiple tasks in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. Ability to work well in a team environment. Excellent project management, analytical, and decision making and problem solving skills, including ability to develop budgets and formal project plans. Superior follow-through and attention to detail and accuracy of own work. Strong computer skills including advanced MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, familiarity with other MS Office software, basic HTML knowledge, database programs, and report writing required.
