Students must have completed at least a semester of calculus. Required text: Serway & Jewett, "Physics for Scientists & Engineers" 6th ed. 2004 We will be covering Chapters 1-9 and 14. Lectures: MW 6:00 - 10:00pm, Physics Lecture Hall (PLH) Food and drink are allowed in class as long as they do not become distracting – use good judgment to keep this priviledge. Note: There is no class on Monday, July 5 due to the holiday. Includes chapters 7, 8, 9, 14 Exam questions will be in short-answer format, and partial credit will be given. On exam days there will be no lecture. Grading: Final grades will be calculated as follows: Attendance & Participation = 5% WebAssign = 25% Take-home questions = 10% Exam 1 = 30% Exam 2 = 30%
