Consider the following dimensions of culture as you describe the impact of culture on communication within company: high-and low context styles, individualism and collectivism, and power distance. As the bakery grew, the changes in the demographic makeup started to appear in the cultural differences and in many other demographical aspects. For example, Cultural impact on communication exposed Sundown management to have challenges on delivering a message more efficiently. 2. How would you describe the early organizational culture of Sundown? How has the culture changed as the company grew? Consider the issues listed on pages 64-65 as you answer question. When Sundown Bakery was a simple organization, the organizational culture was a theory Y- type and the communication was informal. When Sundown grew, the communication became formal and organizational culture became more bureaucratic ( theory X- type). 3. What advice would you give to Sundown’s management team about how to maintain the most effective culture in the face of the company’s growth? I would suggest Sundown bakery to maintain organizational culture so that it would satisfy employees to work hard and achieve more.
