VideoGuard Headend Installation (Linux)
Description: A fully scalable redundant system designed for distributed or centralised
headend architecture. The Videoguard Headend Installation is targeted for specific
hardware and software requirement, RHEL 3.0 update4 and Oracle 10.1.0.4 with selected HP
and IBM servers, PC and laptops.
The RPM packages are encrypted with PGP keys, which can decrypt (GPG) during installation
time (only by few engineers), who use it for live system installation. The installation
does install around 80 RPM’s, which include some of the third party software like Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 3.0, Oracle 10g Standard Edition, Tomcat server etc.
2. SMART Server Installation
Installation should check for the following pre-requisites before installing the files.
If not, should
exit the installation gracefully with proper message.
Pre-requisites:

Description: Installation has to search the path where Tomcat is installed
(CATALINA_HOME), and must do the following:

Backup XML files under CATALINA_HOME (environment variable) path
Update the XML files that are backed up.
Start the Tomcat service
Copy back the updated backed up XML files to their original path.
Copy other files onto different folders under CATALINA_HOME.
3. FoxTel Production Tool Installation
Installation should check for the following pre-requisites before installing the files.
If not, should
exit the installation gracefully with proper message.
Pre-requisites:
1. User privileges
2. Operating system - Windows 2003 Server

Description: Installation needs to create a virtual directory with a custom port number,
create a new website under the virtual directory and copying all files into it.
Uninstallation should remove the newly created website and virtual directories.
4. Platform Hardening Installation

Pre requisite: Should run on Windows 2000, XP, 2003 with required service packs and user
privileges.
Description: The operating system has to be hardened by running the scripts, chosen by
the user, i.e., Hardening A, B or C. and stopping all the default windows services as per
the chosen value. Uninstallation should de-harden the machine and should start back the
services that were stopped during installation.
5. Mac Station Installation
Multiple version support has to be provided, i.e., more than one version of this product
should be able to be installed on the same machine by adding the product name - version
number in INSTALLDIR.
Pre-requisites:
1. IE6 and user privileges.
2. Operating system - Windows XP
Description: The installation has to create a new .cfg file by getting the values from
the user, like Informix Driver name, Server name, username, Password, Database name, port
no etc and to store these values in registry. Should not allow the user to precede the
installation if any of these values are not provided. Installing other version of this
product should pick these values from the registry and populate in the dialog. All the
dll's have to be self registered and the registry entries should not be removed during
uninstallation.
6. Stream Server Administrator Installation

Description: Preparation of multiple installations (4 different msi's) as per the
requirements and launching them by demoshield. Installs hundreds of exe’s, help files,
text and RTF files, dll’s and registry entries. The application created files should also
be removed during uninstallation of the product. Various custom dialogs have to be
displayed with option buttons check boxes and text boxes, and the registry values have to
be set as per the selection of these buttons. Validation is required for text box entries
like, accepting numbers only from 0 to 100. Should pick up these values from registry
when other version is installed and populate in the dialog. Multiple version support is
also required. Should connect to Oracle database at the end of the installation.
