Bring your knowledge of health data standards to the Health Data Branch, Ministry of Health
and Long-Term Care.
We are responsible for the health information needs of the ministry and its clients through the
design and delivery of a range of knowledge products and services related to key health issues
in Ontario.
You will:




provide health data standards advice and support and deliver customer support to
multiple health sectors for multiple data submissions
provide analytical and interpretive assistance for projects and information requests
through the preparation of summary tables and related data products and services
conduct the retrieval, analysis and interpretation of individual records and summary data
and prepare a range of health information summary files, tables and other data-related
products
identify data issues, assist with the monitoring and reporting of Health Data product and
service usage, and provide appropriate recommendations
Location: 5700 Yonge Street, North York, Ontario
What we are looking for:
Technical Skills:
 you have knowledge of health data standards, research methods and relevant statistical
techniques
Computer Skills:
 you have proficiency in the use of business analytics and statistical software (e.g. SAS,
SPSS), MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint to perform data analysis and prepare findings
and reports
 you have the ability to use and operate various health services database programs in
order to retrieve data in support of client needs
Research and Analytical Skills:
 you have retrieved information from databases in support of client data requirements
 you have analyzed and interpreted individual records and summary data relevant to client
needs
 you have identified issues related to use and interpretation of relevant data including
data-quality issues
Communication, Customer Service and Organizational Skills:
 you can prepare summary files, tables and other data related products including briefing
notes
 you have prioritized and managed conflicting service demands and met the needs of
clients
Salary range: $963.66 – $1,130.34 per week
