In addition, it contains information related to the evaluation of temporary faculty. Errors or omissions should be promptly called to the attention of Donna Geib (x 3541) in the Provost's Office. The purpose of this memorandum is to identify the names and dates for which action is required during the academic year. For more complete information regarding the renewal/non-renewal and tenure processes, the appropriate sections of the CBA and Governance Manual should be consulted. In compliance with Article 12 of the CBA, the department evaluation committee and the department chairperson shall provide the FACULTY MEMBER with a reasonable opportunity to discuss his/her evaluation. Temporary Part-time Faculty-Academic Fall 2008 Only Hire Normally, TPTF's hired for the Fall semester, who are subsequently hired for the Spring semester, only require the complete review to be conducted in the Spring semester. However, there are instances when a Department may not be aware that a TPTF hired for the Fall semester only will then be needed for the Spring semester as well. In these cases, the TPTF's will be treated as a Full Year hire, and the performance review conducted in the Fall (if a complete review and deemed effective) will be sufficient. For Spring 2009 semester appointments only, the CBA specifies that evaluations shall be conducted using the procedures described in Article 12, Section C and the schedule described in Article 12, Section H.1. The CBA specifies that the following materials should be included in the written evaluation of temporary faculty members: a. Student evaluations in all classes. b. Peer evaluations by the department evaluation committee and the department chairperson. Only one (1) classroom observation from either the department chairperson or a member of the department evaluation committee shall be required. c. The Provost’s Office will provide a copy of the vitae included in the temporary faculty member’s file. However, an updated vitae may also be submitted. d. Any other pertinent data the temporary faculty member wishes to submit. e. The evaluation process for temporary faculty with work assignments outside of their department shall be conducted by the department in the unit where the work is performed and forwarded to the faculty member’s department for inclusion in his/her total evaluation. f.
