PERSONAL OBJECTIVE / PROFILE
It is my aim to pursue a career within the industry as a yacht engineer and with this next opportunity I will begin working
towards the MEOL certification. I am practically minded and have an excellent approach to problem solving. Fully
committed to gaining experience, I wish to develop myself through further training and professional qualifications. I have
advanced IT skills and have in mind to become proficient with satellite communications and technologies.
A professional self-motivated individual, who has an adaptable and proactive work ethic with the determination to succeed
and progress, having worked as part of a team both within the hospitality and professional sectors I am able to foster good
working relationships with other team members.

Engineers Assistant
Preparation and readiness of the boat for survey inspections. Duties included; cleaning out of chain
locker and removal of the wooden sides and all rusted metal – Removal of some freshwater pipe
work and pumps – Preparation and painting of various pieces of mechanical equipment – Cleaning
under engine drip trays – Assisting where necessary.

My responsibilities and duties included the full pre and post delivery ship reports, recording defects
and damages. Familiarisation with ships systems and emergency procedures, daily engine and
gearbox checks. Provision of ships stores and spares for the passage. Watch keeping and galley
duties. Final handover to the Oyster agent at Foxes Marina.

As a crew member on board I assisted with all pre-departure inspections including rigging and sail
wardrobe. Replacement of defective batteries prior to departure. Insured correct stowage of nonessential items and was responsible for the protection and covering of the interior cabins. Watch
keeping and galley duties. Cleaning and preparation of ship prior to handover to the Beneteau agent.

Growing up in Saudi Arabia from a young age I have developed an interest in different cultures and peoples, I am
a resourceful and independent person who enjoys travelling and variety.

Practical with my hands I have designed and installed kitchens, bathrooms and central heating systems. I have a
basic knowledge of domestic electrics.

Car mechanics, repair and restoration: experience with petrol and diesel engines – body panels – Spot and MIG
welding – fibre glass repair and full body re-spray.

Excellent I.T. skills: experience with networks – servers – software and website development – advanced user of
Microsoft products including Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista, Server 2000, Exchange Server, Office and a growing
knowledge of Linux.

Interested in Art & Design: I have a hands on approach and enjoy being creative – experience of working with
wood, mild steel and composites – have been successful in designing and making clothing that has been used
walking in the mountains and at sea, using a range of insulating and breathable fabrics.

I enjoy outdoor activities such as rock climbing, mountain sports, cycling, canoeing and mountaineering. I possess
sound leadership skills and have planned and executed a number of expeditions in the Scottish Mountains with
friends and family and have always remained safety conscience.
