Mr. DeMonico is responsible for managing Commonfund's marketable alternative funds of funds, including its hedge, absolute return, index plus and global hedged programs. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2002, Mr. DeMonico was Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for Citigroup Alternative Investments, where he was on the management team responsible for $2 billion in hedge fund investments for eight diversified multi-strategy and single-strategy funds. From 1991-2001, he was Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager for CDC Investment Management Corp., a subsidiary of Caisse Des Depots Group where he managed mortgage hedge positions and relative value trading strategies for eight mortgage backed securities funds with about $2 billion in assets. Mr. DeMonico also built and managed the CDC Global Relative Value Fund, and was the Executive Vice President supervising Proprietary Trading and Treasury for CDC Capital. Mr. DeMonico earned his M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Political Science from Columbia College. Marina Lewin Managing Director Bank of NY Alternative Investment Services Marina Lewin heads the Relationship Management team for Alternative Investment Services and coordinates the Bank's global marketing support efforts for hedge funds. In this multi-faceted management role, Marina is also a frequent speaker at industry events and serves as a media spokesperson for the Bank's hedge fund business. Marina spearheaded for the Bank of New York the whitepaper "Institutional Demand for Hedge Funds: New Opportunities and New Standards" in conjunction with Casey, Quirk & Acito LLC. Prior to her involvement in the alternative asset arena, she was responsible for product delivery for Exchange Traded Funds, which included the NASDAQ 100 Exchange Traded Trust (QQQ) and the S&P Mid Cap 400 Trust (MDY). Before joining the Bank, Marina was with JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank and had a variety of roles in the securities industry business line, including operations management, product management and product development. She has also had extensive experience as a senior manager for key business integration projects. Ms. Lewin graduated from Barnard College and received her MBA in Finance from New York University. Dr. Sun joined Fund I in 2001-2002 and currently serves as a Principal. Previously, Dr. Sun was an entrepreneur co-founding a disease management company for patients on blood thinners. In addition, Dr. Sun was an Adjunct Instructor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Sun currently serves as a director of CeNeRx BioPharma, Inc., MAP Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and as a board observer to SkinMedica, Inc. Dr. Sun received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and his M.D. from Temple University School of Medicine with A.O.A. honors.
