A Buffy/Angel Epic Mini-Series
Episode 1
Hell On Earth

OPEN on a dark, rainy night in Los Angeles, the city of angels. To
those alert viewers, this will be recognized as the same night of the
Angel finale in Not Fade Away.
INT. AN ALLEY
The surviving foursome of SPIKE, GUNN, ANGEL, and ILLYRIA are standing
there, staring through the rain at an army of advancing DEMONS with
weapons of all sorts. The foursome look ragged, like they have already
been in a fight. A DRAGON flies through the dark sky.
GUNN
(holding a bloody wound in his side)
Okay, you take the 30,000 on the left...
ILLYRIA
(looking at Gunn)
You’re fading. You’ll last 10 minutes at
best.
GUNN
Then let’s make them memorable.
SPIKE
In terms of a plan?
ANGEL
We fight.
SPIKE
Bit more specific?
ANGEL
(steps forward)
Well, personally. I kinda wanna slay the
dragon.
DEMONS arrive.
ANGEL
Let’s go to work.
ANGEL swings a sword at the screen.
CUT TO BLACK.
EXT. LOS ANGELES
The rain is pouring down as thousands upon thousands of DEMONS looking
like ORCS and other creatures that shouldn’t be met in a dark alley.
Horns. Teeth. Claws. Strange-colored eyes. All characteristics of
the charging creatures.
The voice of BUFFY SUMMERS talks over the scene as the DEMONS advance
into the streets in a SLMO-MO shot.
BUFFY
(v/o)
Good. Evil. Wars have been fought
dating back centuries. Civil wars and
world wars fought with a uprising against
the positions of power. In all of these
wars, there was no defining side that was
classified into the categories of good or
evil. The truth was in shades of gray, a
place where all men are presumed to
exist. Ancient prophets and philosophers
predicted the day would come when mankind
would wage a battle with clear and
defining sides of black and white, good
and evil. That day is here.
INT. THE ALLEY – NORMAL SPEED
ANGEL meets a DEMON with a sword slice, cutting off his head. He
spins, slicing another head off. ANGEL elbows a charging ORC before
decking a fourth one.
SPIKE turns into his demon form, immediately leaping at a couple of
charging ORC DEMONS. SPIKE decks one with a right, sending him to the
ground before blocking the left punch of the second one. SPIKE
deflects his arms away before connecting with a roundhouse kick to this
face. SPIKE then backdrops a charging ORC DEMON to the ground,
flipping him through the air and to the ground.
GUNN uses his hubcap staff and slices through a few ORC DEMONS,
spinning around and catching one in the gut before yanking upwards and
shoving the dead one back to the ground. He then spears it forward
into the neck of a charging ORC DEMON before beginning to spin it
through the air, keeping the DEMONS back.
ILLYRIA stares at the approaching DEMONS, her intense gaze concentrated
on them.
ILLYRIA
I look with disgust upon these weak
creatures.
THREE ORCS charge at ILLYRIA as she leaps into the air, flipping
forward as they run past her. ILLYRIA spins around with a back kick to
ORC #1, sending him to the ground.
ILLYRIA jumps up and reverses her motion, connecting with a kick onto
ORC #2 and sending him down. ORC #3 charges as ILLYRIA punches forward
through his head, shattering it into pieces.
It is then that they are mauled by some oncoming DEMONS. THREE DEMONS
grab ILLYRIA and slam her back against the wall, causing her to crumple
into a heap. They begin kicking her and punching her.
GUNN is stabbed in the side with a sword, causing him to yell in pain.
GUNN
No!
GUNN snaps the neck of the STABBING DEMON until another DEMON decks him
with a left. GUNN is sent sprawling to the ground as another DEMON
stabs him in the gut, opening a blood gash on his body. GUNN yells in
pain as they continue to maul him.
SPIKE does a double clothesline on some charging DEMONS as one attacks
him from behind with a sword, whacking him over the hand with the
handle. SPIKE falls to his knees, a shocked expression on his face as
the rain runs down his face. THE DEMON clubs SPIKE over the head,
dropping him to the ground in a heap as the crowd overtakes SPIKE.
ANGEL decks one more DEMON, followed by a front kick to another one.
He swings the sword, only for a slice to his arm from a charging DEMON
behind him. ANGEL howls in pain as DEMONS maul him, nailing him with
punches and kicks to the ground.
ANGEL is held up on his knees as he looks ahead, a blue doorway opening
within the street, as if from another dimension. Through the doorway
comes HOLLAND MANNERS, a smile on his face as LILAH MORGAN follows
behind him with their business attire on as they carry umbrellas over
their heads.
Ah, Angel.

HOLLAND
Thank you for allowing our
The sound of screaming DEMONS are heard running through the streets as
ANGEL is held down for HOLLAND MANNERS.
HOLLAND and LILAH reach them and look down at ANGEL and now SPIKE being
held down against their wills as the rain pelts their faces. HOLLAND
smiles.
ANGEL
(through gritted teeth)
What are you doing here?
LILAH
Oh, Angel. You did play your pivotal
role in the Apocalypse. You actually
started it.
SPIKE
It ain’t over yet, luv.
LILAH
You’re right. The end is just the
beginning. You’ve opened the gates of
hell. Hell is going to spread all across
the land and you’ll be able to take the
credit.
HOLLAND
Starting with the city of angels, the
earth will crumble into his domain.
ANGEL
Whose domain?
Suddenly, a light appears vertically in the street, followed by the
appearance of CALEB, the preacher from Season 7 of Buffy the Vampire
Slayer. CALEB has a smile on his face as he takes a step forward.
CALEB
For all the sinners in the land will
suffer hell on earth...
CALEB suddenly morphs into THE BEAST (Angel, Season 4).
THE BEAST
Fire will rain from the sky...
THE BEAST steps around ANGEL, changing from THE BEAST into WARREN
MEARS. WARREN smirks.
WARREN
The innocent will be slain...
WARREN changes into DANIEL HOLTZ (Angel, S3), completing the circle
around ANGEL, looking down at him.
HOLTZ
The unjust will be redeemed...
HOLTZ steps towards SPIKE, morphing into GLORY.
GLORY
And all my glory will be felt throughout
the world.
GLORY morphs into ADAM (Buffy, S4).
ADAM
The world will be as one in harmony.
ADAM changes into MAJOR RICHARD WILKINS III (Buffy, S3).
WILKINS
You all will be ruled by me and my
minions, under the thumb of oppression.
ILLYRIA is thrown down before WILKINS as he morphs into DRUSILLA,
smiling deviously.
DRUSILLA
Like little cockroaches, scurrying about
and hiding from the crash of my feet.
DRUSILLA morphs into THE MASTER, spreading out his arms over ILLYRIA.
THE MASTER
Behold as the old ones return and our
kingdom come. Bow down and worship me,
for I am The First Evil.
THE MASTER/THE FIRST laughs maniacally as ANGEL is clubbed over the
head and drops to the ground next to SPIKE and ILLYRIA.
GUNN is left in a bloody heap by the alley wall as DEMONS run all over
the streets of Los Angeles, breaking into the nearby store windows and
beginning to tear places apart.
OPENING CREDITS roll with a mixture of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and
Angel themes.
INT. ROME, ITALY
Police cars are scurrying down the street, their unique sounding horns
and lights blaring over the scene as they travel down the cobblestone
streets of the city.
As they zoom off into the distance, we pass by the river, where a canoe
comes slowly coasting out from under a tunnel. Inside, THE IMMORTAL
sits with BUFFY SUMMERS.
THE IMMORTAL is a young Italian male, with long flowing dark hair and a
smoldering gaze. BUFFY smiles at him as THE IMMORTAL plays a small
guitar and sings an Italian love song to her.
BUFFY
Ya know, I don’t care how many times we
take this trip down the river, our time
together never gets old.
IMMORTAL
(Italian accent)
I would imagine it would not. Love like
ours must last forever...just like The
Immortal.
BUFFY
If you keep referring to yourself in the
third-person, I’m gonna start to think
you have multiple personality disorder.
IMMORTAL
Just would be more sides of The Immortal
to love.
BUFFY
To me, it’s just weird. How about we
continue the singing and romantic cruise
and just forget about talking for a
while?
IMMORTAL
Only so that we may see the beauty of The
Immortal and Buffy Summers without words
to spoil the romantic mood.
BUFFY
Exactly.
Suddenly, BUFFY’S cell phone begins to ring and she moans, looking at
the screen to see the name ‘GILES’ on the ID.
BUFFY
Hold that thought.
BUFFY presses the receive button and puts the phone to her ear.
BUFFY
Hey, Giles.
INT. WATCHER’S COUNCIL BUILDING – ENGLAND
GILES is looking out of a tall building while people wander aimlessly
in the background doing their jobs and such. Cut back and forth
between them for the remainder of their talk.
GILES
Buffy, I’m glad I got hold of you. There
have been some developments over in the
states that I think you should know
about.
BUFFY
Can it wait? The Immortal and I are
enjoying our first night together after a
long run of demon-slayage.
GILES
It’s urgent, Buffy. I need you to come
to England immediately.
BUFFY
What’s wrong?
GILES
The end is here.
BUFFY
Giles, you really should stop being so
overdramatic.
GILES
I’m not being overly dramatic.

The end
BUFFY
In England?
GILES
(sighs)
No, not in England, but it could very
well be if we don’t act now.
BUFFY
Does this mean that I’m gonna have to die
again? Because if it does, we can just
send Rona.
GILES
Can you be serious for one moment Buffy?
BUFFY
Okay, fine, Giles. What happened?
GILES
Los Angeles is being overrun by evil.
BUFFY
What else is new?
GILES
No, you don’t understand. The Circle of
the Black Thorn was assassinated. In
retaliation, The Senior Partners of
Wolfram & Hart have sent their army into
the city. I’m afraid all hell is about
to break loose.
BUFFY
The Circle of the Black Thorn?
GILES
Henchmen of the Senior Partners put on
this plane to carry out their plans.
BUFFY
Who assassinated them?
GILES
Angel.
BUFFY
(suddenly serious)
How do you know this?
GILES
He left us a message on our voice mail
before the plan went down. He wanted us
to be ready should he not make it
through.
BUFFY
(tears forming)
Not make it? What kind of army did they
send?
GILES
Their whole army, I’m afraid. It’s
begun, Buffy. It’s the beginning of the
end.
BUFFY
I’ll be on the first flight out.
GILES
Hurry.
They hang up the phone as BUFFY looks at THE IMMORTAL with a serious
expression.
BUFFY
There’s big trouble in Los Angeles.
Suddenly, a piercing scream echoes over the Roman streets. BUFFY and
THE IMMORTAL turn to see DAWN SUMMERS running down the cobblestone
streets with THREE BRINGERS chasing her, daggers drawn.
DAWN
Buffy, help!
BUFFY quickly dives into the water, swimming through the river’s
current for the surface.
DAWN reaches a park bench and uses it as a springboard, grabbing a
night lamp on the side street. DAWN swings in mid-air, changing
direction as THE BRINGERS try to stop, but trip over each other and
fall to the ground.
DAWN turns to run, but is met by JOYCE SUMMERS, who stands in the
street looking at DAWN. JOYCE reaches out her arms.
JOYCE
Dawn, where do you think you’re going?
JOYCE morphs into CALEB, who smiles.
THE FIRST/CALEB
We’re not finished with you yet.
You again.
DAWN
Butt hole.
DAWN takes off running straight through CALEB/THE FIRST.
FIRST groans.
CALEB/THE
THE FIRST/CALEB
I hate it when people do that!
THE FIRST/CALEB disappears in a ball of light as THE THREE BRINGERS
come charging down the cobblestone road and up a bridge after DAWN.
DAWN is met by BUFFY, climbing out of the water and onto the bridge.
BUFFY turns towards THE BRINGERS, soaked but ready for a fight.
BUFFY
Stay back, Dawn.
THE BRINGERS arrive, but BUFFY springs forward, kicking BRINGER #1 with
a karate kick. BRINGER #2 swings his long knife at her, but she
catches his arm, twisting it and causing a loud crunch as it breaks.
BUFFY decks BRINGER #2 with a right before flipping him over by his
broken arm. BRINGER #2 lands on the ground with a thud.
BRINGER #3 swings a scythe at BUFFY, but she ducks backwards, Matrixstyle, and uses her hands to support herself in an arched position.
BRINGER #3 spins around and swings again, but BUFFY pushes herself up,
catching the handle of the scythe. BUFFY slings the scythe around,
sending BRINGER #3 flying off of the bridge and into the water below
with a splash.
BUFFY flips the scythe and swings it, decapitating BRINGER #2 as he
stands. She then spins around and jams it into the gut of BRINGER #1,
killing him before drops to the ground.
DAWN laughs as BUFFY throws the scythe down.
DAWN
That was cool. I do have a question,
though. Why do they call them Bringers?
Do they actually bring anything?
BUFFY
What were you doing out in the streets
all alone?
DAWN
Looking for you. I saw this big story on
the news about Los Angeles and I thought
you’d like to know.
BUFFY
Giles already told me. What were the
Bringers doing here? Why were they after
you?
DAWN
I don’t know. They were outside the
apartment building when I came out.
Footsteps are heard and BUFFY and DAWN turn to see THE IMMORTAL running
down the length of the bridge.
THE IMMORTAL
You girls okay?
BUFFY
We’re fine. Thanks. Dawn, we’ve got to
get to the airport. We’re going to
England. Los Angeles is about to fall.
DAWN looks at BUFFY with confusion.
INT. THE STREETS OF LOS ANGELES
DEMONS are running through the streets, attacking everything in its
path. Some VAMPIRES pick up a trashcan and throw it through the window
of a department store, shattering the glass.
ANNE STEELE (BtVS 2.7 & 3.1, Angel 2.12, 2.14, 5.22) and RONDELL come
charging down the street as RONDELL shoots a crossbow, turning a
VAMPIRE to dust.
ANNE
Rondell, we can’t be picking fights!
have to find somewhere to hide!
We
RONDELL
We’re gonna have to make a path, Anne!
A piercing scream is heard from a nearby building. RONDELL and ANNE
look up to see MELISSA BURNS come falling from a building, landing in
the street with a thud. VAMPIRES are immediately on her, eating her
remains and devouring her.
ANNE lunges a knife forward, stabbing an oncoming FYARL DEMON as he
leaps at her. THE FYARL DEMON lands on her, taking them both to the
ground. RONDELL quickly re-aims the crossbow and shoots a charging
VAMPIRE, dusting it.
ANNE shoves the dead FYARL DEMON off of her as RONDELL helps her up.
Come on, Anne!
RONDELL
Let’s get out of here!
RONDELL and ANNE take off down an alley as several DEMONS turn over a
car, causing it to burst into flames.
As they go, PARKER ABRAMS (BtVS, Season 4) is seen running down the
street, being chased by DEMONS as he sprints as fast as he can.
INT. THE NABBIT CORPORATION
DAVID NABBIT (Angel 1.20, 1.22, & 2.3) sits behind a desk in his office
as everyone else has gone home for the day. DAVID is looking at a
layout of some floor plans on his screen and he quickly presses the
‘Save’ button. Once it is pressed, he hears a thump from the hallway.
DAVID stands, frowning.
Hello?
DAVID
Is somebody there?
Suddenly, the hallway doors burst from their hinges and hundreds of
DEMONS are charging the place. DAVID’S eyes widen as he puts his hands
up to shield himself.
DAVID
Um, this is trespassing!
THE DEMONS attack him as they devour the office.
INT. AN ALLEY
RONDELL and ANNE come charging down the alley, which is abandoned
except for a figure in the corner.
RONDELL
We have to get to the shelter, Anne!
That’s the only place we can worry about
them not caring about!
ANNE
We’re almost there. We just gotta...
ANNE’S eyes fall over on the FIGURE by the wall.

It is GUNN, in a pool
ANNE
Rondell, it’s Gunn!
RONDELL looks over and sees GUNN.
for a pulse.
He runs immediately over and feels
ANNE
Is he alive?
I think so.
RONDELL
Come on. Give me some help.
ANNE runs over and they both pull GUNN to his feet, each supporting one
side of GUNN’S injured body.
GUNN
Who...
GUNN loses consciousness again as RONDELL checks the streets for
DEMONS. ANNE nods her head.
ANNE
It doesn’t matter. They’re everywhere!
Go!
ANNE and RONDELL carry GUNN’S motionless corpse through the chaotic
streets as windows are heard breaking, people are heard screaming, and
things are seen being destroyed.
INT. ROME, ITALY – BUFFY’S APARTMENT
BUFFY is packing her bags alongside DAWN, who is all ready to leave.
THE IMMORTAL stands in the corner, arms crossed as he watches them pack
their clothes and belongings into suitcases.
BUFFY
We’ll be in England at the Watcher’s
Council Headquarters if you need to find
us.
IMMORTAL
Are you sure you don’t want me along?
BUFFY
Giles would never allow it. I just need
to go see what we can do for Los Angeles.
IMMORTAL
You mean for Angel?
BUFFY
This isn’t about Angel. My father is in
Los Angeles. I have a lot of old friends
there. This is about stopping this
before it spreads across the world.
IMMORTAL
I just want to know where I stand.
DAWN
Angel’s probably dead, anyway.
BUFFY
Dawn!
DAWN
What? The entire demon army is pissed at
him. They’re here because of what he did
and they’re not gonna kill him?
Whatever.
BUFFY
Even is that is the case, our father is
there. Let’s just go. Immortal, I’m
gonna miss you.
IMMORTAL
The Immortal will miss you.
BUFFY reaches up and kisses THE IMMORTAL on the lips. They stare into
each other’s eyes for a second before BUFFY grabs her suitcase and
looks at DAWN.
Let’s go.
BUFFY
The Watcher’s jet is waiting.
DAWN
Bye, Immortal.
IMMORTAL
Goodbye, Dawn.
THE IMMORTAL and DAWN hug. DAWN and BUFFY then exit the scene. THE
IMMORTAL watches them leave before grabbing a phone and dialing a
number. A few seconds go by before—
INT. WOLFRAM & HART – ROME OFFICES
ILONA COSTA BIANCHI answers the phone and speaks into the receiver.
ILONA
Ilona Costa Bianchi, Wolfram & Hart.
IMMORTAL
Buffy is heading to England as we speak.
The Bringers failed at their objective.
ILONA
Ah, The Immortal. So the Bringers failed
at retrieving The Key. Bringers.
Disgusting creatures! I spit on them.
(fake spits) We will have to do this
another way. You will have to expose
yourself...metaphorically, of course.
IMMORTAL
What needs to be done?
ILONA smirks as THE IMMORTAL listens intently.
INT. AFRICA – THE SAVANNA
XANDER HARRIS appears, creeping into the underbrush with a semiautomatic weapon. His hair is scruffy like usual and he wears an eye
patch over his left eye. His good eye is fixed on a whole ahead of him
as he creeps up on it slowly.
A giraffe and an elephant are seen walking by in the background through
the trees. XANDER points his gun down into the hole.
XANDER
Angels, Bosley thinks we’ve found us a
spider demon.
As if on cue, three FIGURES leap from nearby trees, doing flips and
landing on their feet behind XANDER.
CU on VI, the vampire slayer. Her short red hair blows in the wind as
she fixes an intense gaze on the hole in the ground. She has a stake
ready for action.
PAN OVER to COLLEEN, whose flowing black hair and dark complexion
sizzle in the African heat. Her sword is drawn and ready for the kill.
PAN OVER to CHAO-AHN, whose long-flowing black hair blows with the wind
as she brandishes two sai, one in each hand, ready for the strike.
VI
Do we have confirmation?
XANDER
I like to call it instinct.
COLLEEN
If this is the end, Xander, it’s been
great having you watch us.
XANDER
And it’s been great watching you,
Colleen.
XANDER turns and winks at her with his good eye. As he does this, a
loud crash is heard as dirt flies up out of the hole. A huge SPIDER
DEMON launches from inside the hole and leaps down at XANDER.
XANDER
Oh, man.
XANDER immediately drops onto his back and points his gun at the
falling 20 foot-tall spider. Before he can fire a shot, the giant
SPIDER DEMON has knocked his gun away, sending it crashing into a tree.
VI
Attack!
VI leaps into action, running and jumping up at the swift-moving SPIDER
DEMON. A web-like substance is shot out at VI, who is knocked
backwards and into the tree, where she hangs in the giant net-like
trap.
XANDER uses the distraction to roll away from the SPIDER DEMON, but the
SPIDER DEMON crashes one of its legs down at XANDER, spraying him with
its web.
COLLEEN
Xander!
COLLEEN charges forward with a sword, whacking a leg of the SPIDER
DEMON. THE SPIDER DEMON howls in pain, swatting COLLEEN with its large
legs. COLLEEN gains air as she is knocked up into a tree and then
thumps to the ground.
CHAO-AHN just studies the SPIDER DEMON in her crouching tiger position
as THE SPIDER DEMON flexes its “teeth” at XANDER, preparing for the
kill.
VI struggles with the webbing and cries out.
Chao-Ahn!
VI
Help him!
CHAO-AHN stays frozen in crouching tiger position as THE SPIDER DEMON
drools all over the pinned and webbed down XANDER. XANDER shakes his
head.
XANDER
You have nothing on Peter Parker, you
pansy!
THE SPIDER DEMON growls and lunges downwards at XANDER, but CHAO-AHN
whips one of her sai forward, embedding it into the SPIDER DEMON’S eye.
THE SPIDER DEMON cries out as it CHAO-AHN runs forward, jumping into
the air and doing a flip before landing on the SPIDER DEMON’S back,
jamming the other sai into his back.
THE SPIDER DEMON twirls, sending CHAO-AHN flying through the air and
down into a group of bushes.
COLLEEN quickly runs forward, tossing up the sword at VI, making sure
it jams into the tree as she slides forward, baseball-style and grips
the lower sai. COLLEEN yanks upwards, slicing the eye of the SPIDER
DEMON before jamming it into SPIDER DEMON’S head again and jumping
down, ripping a hole in its body as she slides down to the ground.
THE SPIDER DEMON gets off of XANDER and heads after COLLEEN as VI grabs
the sword and cuts through her webbing.
COLLEEN runs underneath VI and the SPIDER DEMON follows just as VI
falls, landing on the SPIDER DEMON’S back. VI grabs the other sai and
slices upwards, blood oozing from within the SPIDER DEMON. VI stands,
balances herself as COLLEEN waits in fighting stance.
THE SPIDER DEMON wiggles as it goes at COLLEEN, but VI yanks her self
up to the head and jams the sai’s blade into the eyes of the SPIDER
DEMON. It howls in pain as it whips VI forward.
VI catches onto some branches, yanking them back as she falls. She
releases them as the SPIDER DEMON comes at her. The branches whip
back, smashing into the SPIDER DEMON and sending it sprawling backwards
to the ground.
VI lands on the ground next to COLLEEN, who nods her head.
COLLEEN
Nice work.
VI
Let’s kill this bastard!
VI and COLLEEN get into fighting stance as THE SPIDER DEMON recovers,
his bloodied body drenching its menacing and angry face. It growls
fiercely as it charges at COLLEEN and VI.
Oh, crap.
COLLEEN
We have no weapons!
VI
We don’t need them.
VI prepares for a fight as THE SPIDER DEMON leaps at them, but machine
gun fire echoes through the African landscape. Bullets riddle the
SPIDER DEMON as it is driven backwards.
XANDER reappears, firing the gun’s ammo straight into the chest of the
SPIDER DEMON. THE SPIDER DEMON takes a few steps back and crumples to
the ground in a bloody heap, taking its last breath.
XANDER, VI, CHAO-AHN, and COLLEEN stand, covered in wounds and blood.
Well, angels.
XANDER
We kicked ass.
COLLEEN
Xander, the way you handled that machine
gun just makes me quiver with excitement.
VI rolls her eyes as XANDER smiles, gulping.
XANDER
You’re gonna quiver...in front of us?
CHAO-AHN
You, horny.
VI laughs as XANDER looks embarrassed.
XANDER
Thanks, Chao-Ahn. Those English lessons
are really paying off, huh?
VI
What was with that thing? We haven’t
seen one of those spider demons in
months.
Um, well.
XANDER
I guess we missed this one.
VI
A twenty-foot tall spider?
would have noticed.
I think I
Suddenly, there is a ringing of a phone. COLLEEN winks at a smiling
XANDER as he answers the phone. It is GILES in England and we cut back
and forth between them.
Yo, Giles.
XANDER
What’s the haps?
GILES
The “haps” is that I need all slayers and
watchers to report back to the council
immediately.
Really?
XANDER
Something going on?
GILES
No. I’m lonely. Yes. Of course there’s
something going on! I’ve sent a

WILLOW ROSENBERG and KENNEDY are sitting outside a Shaolin temple
meditating as a crystal orb rests in front of them.
The temple stands tall over the scene, tons of stone steps leading up
the entrance of the large structure. Several Buddhist statues and
pictures of dragons are positioned over the scene of the hillside of
the mountains.
KENNEDY
I don’t get it, Will. How is my
concentration supposed to move this rock?
WILLOW
It’s all in your state of mind.
WILLOW lifts her hand and the orb starts to glow as it levitates in the
air. KENNEDY shakes her head as she smiles.
KENNEDY

WILLOW turns and makes the orb fly towards KENNEDY. KENNEDY ducks as
the orb shatters like a light bulb at some charging BRINGERS. They
cover the area where their eyes would be as KENNEDY kips up to her
feet.
KENNEDY turns and kicks a BRINGER in the gut before decking him in the
face. THE BRINGER falls to the ground in a heap as another BRINGER
charges her.
WILLOW stands, extending her arm as her white robe flows brightly. She
shoots out a bright blue stream of light, knocking down a whole row of
charging BRINGERS.
KENNEDY decks the charging BRINGER with a right, sending him falling
down the steps of the temple.
KENNEDY then spins around, twisting into the air, and greets another
BRINGER with a kick to the face.
WILLOW’S fill with darkness as she extends her arm at the recuperating
BRINGERS surrounding the area.
WILLOW
Goddess Hecate, work thy will!
KENNEDY leaps forward with a scissors kick and knocks down the first
charging BRINGER.
WILLOW
Before thee, let the unclean things
crawl!
WILLOW shoots some streams of light that envelops all of the BRINGERS,
simultaneously turning them all into rats. They make mousy noises and
scurry away as KENNEDY turns to WILLOW with a smile.
KENNEDY
I could’ve kicked their asses, you know.
WILLOW
I know. I just figured that Amy’s spell
oughta be good for something.
Rat bringers.
KENNEDY

WILLOW
Weird sounding. Sounds like someone who,
you know, brings you rats.

Vast desert land is spread out as sand is covering the landscape in the
dark night. A rattlesnake snaps a mouse off of the ground.

The large military base is in business as several camouflage-wearing
SOLDIERS come jogging in unison towards the building.
INT. THE INITIATIVE COMPOUND
MAJOR ELLIS is watching a large screen as news reports are playing on
their satellite feed. MAJOR ELLIS shakes his head as SOLDIERS are
darted around in a panic, reacting to the crisis at hand.
RILEY FINN comes walking with purpose towards MAJOR ELLIS and stops
next to him as ELLIS holds up his hand.
REPORTER
(On TV)
The city is in shambles here in Los
Angeles as strange creature sightings
have been reported all over the city.
The president is expected to address this
issue in his presidential address as soon
as possible. The mayor of California is
recommending that everyone stay indoors
and barricade yourself inside until—
Suddenly, a vampire, SHEILA MARTINI (BtVS, 3.2), attacks the REPORTER
from behind, biting into his neck. THE REPORTER yells as he slumps to
the ground. SHEILA pops back onto the screen, baring her fangs at the
CAMERA.
THE POV (CAMERA MAN) takes a few steps back, but SHEILA grabs the
camera, looking straight into it.
SHEILA
Where you goin’? Look at me.
SHEILA grabs the camera and stares into the lense at us.
SHEILA
It’s time to choose sides, bitches. The
war is coming. It’s all ending. It’s
time. Hide in your houses all you want.
You have to come out sometime.
SHEILA breaks the camera and it goes to static as MAJOR ELLIS bows his
head before turning to RILEY.
ELLIS
Agent Finn, sound the alarms and gather
your men.
RILEY
Are we headed to aid the people of Los
Angeles, sir?
ELLIS
I want you to head the squad. Take your
best men. We have to stop this before it
spreads out of that city.
RILEY
Yes, sir. I’ll have them fully locked
and ready to roll.
ELLIS
Have them at the launch pad at 2300
hours. You leave immediately.
RILEY
Yes, Major.
RILEY and ELLIS salute each other as RILEY heads off down the hallway.
RILEY passes a holding cell as he goes.
INT. HOLDING CELL
ETHAN RAYNE (BtVS 2.6, 2.8, 3.6, & 4.12) is peering out of the square
window in the door, looking around in confusion.
ETHAN backs up into his room and runs his fingers under his chin.

INT. THE STREETS OF LOS ANGELES
CONNOR (Angel, Seasons 3-5) is running through the streets, looking for
a place to hide. His face is one of concentration as TWO VAMPIRES
charge at him.
VAMPIRE #1
Fresh meat!
CONNOR dodges a right hand, grabbing the arm and using it to spin into
the air and kick VAMPIRE #2 with a drop kick. VAMPIRE #2 goes
staggering back as CONNOR lands on his feet and shoves VAMPIRE #1 into
the wall.
VAMP #2 leaps into the air at CONNOR, who hip tosses him forward,
slamming him onto his back. VAMP #1 lunges out with a kick as CONNOR
leaps backwards onto the hood of a nearby car.
VAMP #1 leaps onto the car with him and swings, causing CONNOR to block
the blow and lift him into the air, slamming him back first onto the
car. The windows break as VAMP #1 moans in pain.
CONNOR leaps back up and jumps off of the car, grabbing the street lamp
and twirling around the post, connecting with a kick onto VAMP #2,
sending him back to the ground.
CONNOR grabs a broken piece of wood on the ground and spins, lodging
the tip into the heart of VAMP #1, turning him immediately to dust.
VAMP #2 charges, but CONNOR turns and gives him a backwards stake to
the heart, turning him into dust. CONNOR glances around at the streets
as DEMONS turn over a car nearby. Some more DEMONS are seen yanking A
MAN off of a fire escape, where he was hiding out of reach. They
mangle him quickly as CONNOR shakes his head.
CONNOR
This is nuts.
CONNOR backs up and turns, seeing a sign nearby that reads Caritas.

CONNOR walks inside, seeing the place empty except for a figure by the
bar pouring a drink. CONNOR frowns as he stares at the bar.

morphs into DARLA (both shows), who smiles down at them.

Take them and throw them in the jail
cells built below the building.
ANGEL and SPIKE are jerked up by their coats as SPIKE jerks his
shoulder away.
SPIKE
Watch the coat, you ninny!
DARLA/THE FIRST looks at them.

ANGEL
I’m already looking at one of them.
DARLA/THE FIRST
Take them away.
SPIKE and ANGEL are taken away as THE DEMONS follow them out. HOLLAND
and LILAH watch on in silence. HARMONY steps up to THE FIRST/DARLA and
holds her hand up in the air shyly.
HARMONY

THE FIRST/DARLA
Harmony, go do whatever you want.
HARMONY

Cool!
HARMONY giggles and runs off, leaving HOLLAND, LILAH, ILLYRIA, and
DARLA/THE FIRST in the room. DARLA suddenly morphs into FRED BURKLE
and smiles at ILLYRIA.

Illyria, I know that we’re looking alike
and all right now, but I’m not gonna just
hand over the kingdom without you proving
yourself. You have to destroy some
humans before I let you gain back what
you’ve lost.
ILLYRIA

INT. ENGLAND – INT. THE WATCHER’S COUNCIL HEADQUARTERS
XANDER, VI, COLLEEN, and CHAO-AHN enter the building, having a glance
around the place. People are coming to and from areas as they go about
their daily jobs.
XANDER
Well, angels. Welcome back to our home
turf, where the powerful all gather
to...do whatever powerful people do. I
wouldn’t really know, considering my
ability consists of having a strangely
refocused right eye that sees stronger
than it used to.

KENNEDY glares at OZ before walking off. OZ doesn’t show any
expression whatsoever as WILLOW looks at him, biting her lower lip.
WILLOW
Sorry about that. Kennedy gets a little
jealous sometimes.
OZ
I hadn’t noticed.
WILLOW
So, what kind of job did you get here?
OZ
Well, the band and I were touring through
England a couple of months ago when we
all had a falling out.
WILLOW

OZ
Devon and I thought it would be cool to
make money while touring.
WILLOW

OZ

INT. WOLFRAM & HART PRISON SYSTEM
ANGEL and SPIKE are led down some corridors by a group of BRINGERS.
They walk past the cell of MATTHIAS PAVAYNE, medieval serial killer,
who has been restrained in his own cell and unable to move.
SPIKE smirks.
SPIKE
Here we are, being locked into purgatory
with the banes of this earthly realm.
BRINGERS open the cells and throw ANGEL and SPIKE into a dungeon,
slamming the steel doors shut.
ANGEL bangs on the door, trying to get out, but SPIKE rolls his eyes
and has a seat in the corner.
SPIKE
I don’t know what the bloody hell you’re
doing. We ran the bloody place. We made
sure demons couldn’t get out of these
cells.
ANGEL
Dammit!
ANGEL stops pounding and has a seat, frustrated.
him and shakes his head.
SPIKE looks over at
SPIKE
I never figured Old Blue for pulling a
Ben Arnold.
ANGEL
I knew we should have never trusted her.
SPIKE
Never trust a demon with no soul.
ANGEL

is looking better every second.

ANGEL
And we’re going nowhere fast.
ANGEL stares through the demon-proof glass and out into the hallways,
where LAWYERS and DEMONS walk.
INT. THE STREETS OF LOS ANGELES
DEMONS, VAMPIRES, and MONSTERS are scouring the streets, a few tearing
people into bits and devouring dead bodies already laid to rest in the
chaos. Suddenly, a large bomb hits the street, causing a few VAMPIRES
to dust due to the large amounts of fire engulfing them.
INT. JET COCK PIT
RILEY FINN smiles and speaks into his radio.
RILEY
I got a few with that blast!
INT. ANOTHER JET COCK PIT
SAM FINN smiles.
That’s my man!
Captain Finn!
SAM
Dropping mine now,
SAM FINN flies overhead and drops some bombs from her jet. DEMONS look
up as the bombs come towards them, exploding into fireballs and walls
of fire, evaporating several DEMONS and VAMPIRES below.
INT. JET COCK PIT
GRAHAM MILLER looks out the side with very little expression as he
drops a bomb into the streets, causing a large building to fall down
onto a gathering of DEMONS. A thunderous roar echoes as the DEMONS are
buried under brick and fire.
GRAHAM
Red leader, going in for the ground
assault!
RILEY
(v/o)
Agent Goodman and Agent Brown are
stationed at the base of operations down
below with their crew! Once you’ve
landed, go straight for the tanks! Watch
yourself! There are innocents down
there!
Yes, sir.

INT. SAM’S JET
SAM shoots her guns at some DEMONS below, killing them in a spray of
bullets.
SAM
We’re right behind you, Graham!
SAM turns her steering down towards the ground as RILEY and the others
descend towards the ground, firing their guns at the MONSTERS below.
INT. A DESRT HIGHWAY
The streets aren’t covered in demons here, but it is obvious that
people are concerned, as several cars are seen pulling away from Los
Angeles.
LORNE comes walking down the road, his hat pulled down to conceal his
demon appearance. He still looks sad as he walks along, his hands in
the pockets of his coat.
A bottle comes flying out at him, smashing against his head. LORNE
turns and looks to see DONNY MACLAY leaning out of a car, holding his
hands in the air in triumph.
DONNY
Demon scum! Who do you think you are,
coming into our world?!
LORNE just lowers his head, shaking it as he continues to walk away.
DONNY throws a few more things at him, as do other HUMANS.
DONNY
We’ll kill you all, you green bastard!
Don’t walk away from me!
DONNY climbs out of the car as the traffic sits at a standstill.

DONNY’S cousin BETH is driving as she leans over to DONNY, trying to
pull him back inside.
BETH
Donny, get back in the car!
DONNY
No way! These demon scum are the reason
we have to evacuate our own city!
DONNY swats BETH’S hand away as he charges after LORNE, smashing the
crowbar over LORNE’S head. LORNE grunts and falls to the ground as
BETH gets out of the car and runs after him.
We’ve gotta go!

Traffic is starting to
DONNY uses his foot to turn LORNE over, standing above him with the
crowbar. DONNY smiles sadistically down at LORNE as he pats the
crowbar in his hand.

DONNY’S eyes grow full of rage.

DONNY swings the crowbar down at LORNE, who catches his arm and flings
him away and to the ground, stealing away the crowbar in his hand.
LORNE stands as BETH jumps onto his back from behind, causing him to
stumble forward.
DONNY jumps up and decks LORNE in the stomach with a right to the
stomach as BETH screams, choking LORNE.
BETH
Don’t you touch my cousin, you fiend!
LORNE doubles over, causing BETH to fall to the ground with a thud.
DONNY decks LORNE with a right, dropping him to the ground. DONNY then
kicks LORNE in the ribs, causing LORNE to roll over a few feet.
DONNY stomps on LORNE’S hand, causing him to yell in pain and rips the
crowbar from his hand.
DONNY
Demons are gonna die, bastard!
DONNY swings the crowbar down and nails LORNE on the side of the head.
LORNE howls in pain as BETH gives him a few kicks to the face.
CLEM
(o/s)
Hey, guys.
DONNY and BETH turn back towards the car, where the voice came from.
DONNY and BETH’S POV
CLEM, the flabby-skinned demon from BtVS Season 6-7, waves at them from
his car.
POV changes to behind CLEM. Suddenly, long tentacles protrude from his
face and he growls. DONNY’S and BETH’S eyes widen as they turn and run
away, jumping into the their car. They immediately slam on the gas,
nudging the car in front of them before tearing off through the desert
to get around the other cars.
EXT. THE CAR
LORNE crawls to his feet, covered in sand as the moon shines down over
them. He holds the side of his head in pain as he glances over at
CLEM’S car with confusion.
CLEM waves at him with a smile from the car.
Hey, there, pal.
CLEM
You okay?
LORNE
Only if having a Big Bopper-sized
migraine is okay.
CLEM
Need a ride somewhere?
LORNE
Where are you headed?
CLEM
(shrugs)
Does it matter?
LORNE stumbles forward, grabbing the door handle.
LORNE
No, I guess not.
LORNE opens the door and falls into the passenger seat, still dazed.
CLEM laughs as LORNE pulls the door shut and situates himself in the
car. CLEM looks at the other cars on the road, where HUMANS can be
seen glaring at them from their cars.
CLEM
It doesn’t look good for us peaceful
types. I mean, demons and humans are
dividing. If you’re not down with the
power, you’re the boys without a home.
LORNE
I guess this world has lived out its
rootin-tootin’ welcome. How do you feel
about Texas?
CLEM
I like it just as well as any other
place, I guess.
LORNE
I have a friend that moved there a couple
of years ago. She may be able to help us
out with that whole survival thing.
CLEM
Sounds good to me. Does she have
kittens?
LORNE
I’m, uh, really not sure.
CLEM
God, I hope so. Good food is gonna be in
short supply, too. Let’s get moving
before a lynch mob shows up. I know a
shortcut.
CLEM steps on the gas, going around the gridlocked cars and into the
desert sands. As they drive off, a limousine pulls up into their spot.
The limousine quickly backs up and follows CLEM’S car into the desert
without a sound.
INT. DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES – NIGHT
RILEY, GRAHAM, and SAM are leading a squad into a ground attack on the
DEMONS invading the city.
GRAHAM is firing a machine gun at a group of charging DEMONS. He
watches as they all are blown dead back to the ground. Glass is heard
shattering in the buildings as fires have begun burning all over the
city. GRAHAM yells out as he turns and fires upon some more charging
DEMONS and VAMPIRES.
SAM charges a VAMPIRE with her gun, firing shots into its chest. THE
VAMPIRE staggers back as SAM leaps into the air, a flying front kick
into the VAMPIRE’S chest. THE VAMPIRE is sent flying back into a pile
of debris, where a wooden beam stakes him and turns him to dust.
SAM then whips another handgun out of her ankle holster and stands up,
extending her arms in both directions as she fires upon some DEMONS,
shattering their brains and chests.
GRAHAM
Riley, there’s gonna be too many of them!
RILEY
We’re driving them back!
GRAHAM
For now!
GRAHAM fires his machine gun once again, taking out a row of DEMONS.
RILEY fires his handgun, shooting a charging DEMON in the chest, but is
caught off guard when a SPIDER-LIKE VAMPIRE leaps from a building down
at him.
RILEY turns and fires, but the SPIDER VAMP pounces on him. RILEY kicks
the SPIDER VAMP off of him, kipping up to his feet as he turns. SPIDER
VAMP throws a right hand at RILEY, but RILEY ducks underneath it and
removes a hunting knife from his sheath, spinning around, and burying
it into the VAMPIRE’S neck, slicing through it. THE SPIDER VAMP howls
and dusts as he is decapitated.
RILEY
Graham, I’m going for the headquarters!
Cover me!
SAM
I’m with you, Finn! Go!
RILEY takes off running through the heaps of dead DEMONS as VAMPIRES
come after him.
GRAHAM blows a few VAMPIRES away with his M-16, blowing a path for
RILEY to run through. SAM charges after RILEY, shooting a DEMON as it
charges from the other side.
RILEY leaps over a stack of crates and props himself close to the wall,
his gun drawn. SAM quickly follows with the same technique, gun
raised. SAM smiles at RILEY as GRAHAM continues to fire away.
SAM
This is just like our honeymoon.
RILEY
And you say I’m never romantic anymore.
RILEY turns and kicks the door to the army base open, entering with his
gun drawn as SAM quickly follows. The door slams shut behind them.
INT. THE WATCHER’S COUNCIL HEADQUARTERS – ENGLAND
GILES comes walking down a hallway with ANDREW WELLS following closely
behind like a flunkie, with a set of books in his hands.
ANDREW
All kidding aside, my Qui-Gon. Tell me
the plan. I’m a watcher now, just like
you.
GILES
Oh, heavens. Don’t you ever call me QuiGon again. In addition, you are not just
like me.
ANDREW
Oh, no! The pupil has angered the
teacher! I offer my life in penance for
my error.
GILES
Oh, shut up. You’ll find out with the
rest of the crew what we’re going to do.
ANDREW
Not even a morsel of a hint, Mr. Giles?
GILES
No.
GILES enters the boardroom with ANDREW close behind.
INT. THE BOARD ROOM
It is filled with WATCHERS and SLAYERS, all speculating on the
meeting’s purpose.
The WATCHERS sit in seats around a long circular table. There’s ROBIN
WOOD, XANDER HARRIS, ROGER WYNDHAM-PRYCE (Angel, S5), WILLOW ROSENBERG,
and GILES’S friend ROBSON (BtVS S7) are at the table, all waiting with
anticipation as the SLAYERS talk behind them.
BUFFY SUMMERS, KENNEDY, RONA, VI, COLLEEN, CHAO-AHN, CARIDAD, SHANNON,
and others all surround the room.
GILES and ANDREW look around.

Hart’s Senior Partners unleashed their
army upon the citizens of Los Angeles.

Oh, my God.
XANDER
When you say Army, do you mean...
GILES
Hundreds of thousands of demons were sent
into this dimension to devour the entire
city.
BUFFY
Angel did this?
WILLOW
Has he turned into Angelus again?
GILES
No. My source inside Wolfram & Hart has
informed me that Angel led an uprising
against the Senior Partners.
BUFFY
Have you heard anything from Angel?

U.S., it will no doubt continue to spread
across the globe. Once this happens,
this world is ripe for takeover. By

widespread Hell on Earth, ruled by The
First Evil, who will return in corporeal
form as his army takes over the earth.
XANDER, COLLEEN, VI, and CHAO-AHN look uncomfortable as XANDER shakes
his head.

have to do with The Senior Partners?
GILES
The prophecies all point to a return of
The First. The Senior Partners, The
Bringers, the vampires. All of them
exist only because of The First.
Therefore, all armies of evil belong to
The First. The Turok Hans couldn’t get
it done, so now The Senior Partners are
not only paving way for themselves, but
The First is the one pulling the strings.

ANDREW stares off at the ceiling as he takes a sip of a Capri Sun drink
he has in his hands. WILLOW shakes her head.
WILLOW
Ah, let the geek have his fantasies.
BUFFY
Here’s what we’re gonna do is put
together a group to go find Faith. I’m
leading the charge. If you need to get
hold of your families in Los Angeles,
now’s the time. Think about whether you
want to go on this mission while I tie up
my affairs. You might not be coming
back. Any questions?
No one says anything.
BUFFY
I’ll see you in a while.
BUFFY turns and walks away. All of the others disperse in their own
directions as GILES looks solemnly out the window.
GILES
They will find you, Faith.
INT. A DUSTY HIGHWAY IN DALLAS, TEXAS
A tumbleweed blows across the empty road as the single headlight of a
Harley-Davidson motorcycle comes into frame. The rider is covered in
the shadows and by a black helmet as the bike pulls onto the side of
the road, kicking up gravel as it goes and pulls into a gas
station/convenience store called “STOP N GO”.
THE RIDER

FAITH LEHANE is revealed behind the helmet. FAITH looks
she takes the gas cap off of her bike and turns on the
pump before walking inside.
INT. THE GAS STATION
FAITH enters the empty station, seeing LORRAINE ROSS sitting behind the
counter of the gas station reading a book. LORRAINE stops reading and
stands up as FAITH enters.
LORRAINE
Good evening, ma’am. Is there anything I
can help you with?
FAITH
Nah, I’m cool.
LORRAINE
Let me know if you need anything. We
here at Stop N Go look to provide service
with a smile and look to gain
appreciation from our customers.
FAITH nods, frowning at her strange optimistic attitude as she walks to
the back of the store and tries to decide which type of beer she wants.
Heavy laughing and yells are heard as a group of motorcycles pull up
outside the gas station and come to a stop, a number of bikers on them.
FAITH looks outside and smirks as they laugh. The man in charge, LYLE
GORCH, a large man wearing a cowboy hat, looks over at FAITH’S bike.

LYLE and a horde of BIKERS enter the store as LORRAINE stands back up
and smiles.
LORRAINE
Good evening, sirs. Is there anything I
can help you with?
LYLE turns and smiles.
LYLE
Ya know, I like me a polite woman. As a
matter of fact, you can help me. I’m
lookin’ for a feisty little spitfire that
might have come in here.
FAITH hides back behind a food aisle.
looks around the store.
She listens intently as LORRAINE
LORRAINE
Of course, sir. Are you able to describe
the woman you are seeking?

LYLE
Brown hair, ass like a
LORRAINE looks back into the area and into the corner round mirror,
where she sees FAITH is hiding in the aisles. She frowns before
smiling and turning back to LYLE.
LORRAINE
I don’t believe I’ve seen anyone that I
can describe in that manner.
LYLE
Whose bike is that out there fillin’ up?
LYLE looks at LORRAINE, who looks a little uncomfortable.
over to her with a smile.
He leans
LYLE
You’re lookin’ mighty nervous, ma’am, if
I do say so myself. I think you’re a
liar. I think that the woman I’m lookin’
for is here right now.
LORRAINE
Why are you looking for her?
She’s my girl.
LYLE
We had a fight.
INT. THE AISLE
FAITH makes a ‘yuck’ face.
INT. THE FRONT COUNTER
LYLE leans over and grabs LORRAINE gently by her blouse.
LYLE
But, maybe, just maybe, she’ll adhere to
her true calling.
LYLE’S face turns into a VAMPIRE as LORRAINE’S eyes widen.
LORRAINE
Oh, my God!
LYLE grabs LORRAINE and jerks her over the counter, biting into her
neck and causing blood to spurt from the wound. LORRAINE yells in
agony as FAITH comes charging down the aisle.
FAITH
Hey, tubs!
LYLE stops biting and turns towards FAITH with blood dripping from his
teeth. FAITH jumps into the air and connects with a kick to LYLE’S
chest. LYLE is knocked back over the counter and hits the ground with
a thud.
FAITH catches LORRAINE as she falls.

LORRAINE looks at her with
LORRAINE
What’s going on?
LORRAINE’S eyes close as FAITH puts her on the ground. FAITH looks
disappointed as she turns towards the other BIKERS, who have now turned
into VAMPIRES. They growl with a demonic smile on their faces.
LYLE GORCH stands up behind the counter as FAITH holds out her hands,
inviting a fight with an intense look on her face.
FAITH
You gonna stand there all day or are we
gonna lay the smack down?
LYLE
Get the slayer bitch!
THE 3 BIKERVAMPS charge her, causing FAITH to jump up and connect with
a kick to the forerunner’s face.
FAITH decks BIKERVAMP #2 with a right as BIKERVAMP #3 swings at her
with a left. FAITH ducks, spins around and connects with a left on
BIKERVAMP #3.
FAITH then leaps into the air and connects with a karate kick to
BIKERVAMP #3’S face, sending him sprawling into the potato chip rack,
knocking it over as he falls.
BIKERVAMP #2 swings, but FAITH ducks, decking him in the gut with a
right before jumping into the air and pouncing down with a left.
BIKERVAMP #2 hits the ground with a thud.
LYLE GORCH yells and shoves the ice cream cooler forward, slamming it
into FAITH and shoving her back through the store with a wicked grin as
he slams her into the beer cooler, breaking the glass and causing it to
shatter onto FAITH.
LYLE laughs sinisterly as FAITH tries to stand, but LYLE rams her again
with the cooler, knocking her back against the rack with a thud.
LYLE
The Slayers are an endangered species,
bitch.
LYLE shoves the cooler out of his way, slamming it against the shelves
of candy and causing them to topple. FAITH is woozy as she falls back
against the rack of beverages.
LYLE
Starting with you, ending with Buffy!
LYLE charges her. FAITH, soaked in her own blood, quickly reaches up,
grabbing a beer bottle and cracking LYLE over the head with it.
LYLE staggers back as FAITH grabs another bottle, slamming it against
the cooler and showing the sharp jagged edges to LYLE.
LYLE growls as FAITH holds it out in front of her, keeping him at arm’s
length.
FAITH
The only thing endangered here is you,
cowboy.
LYLE
Think again, baby.
BIKERVAMP #1 leaps at her from the aisle, causing her to swing the
broken bottle around. She jams the bottle through his neck, causing
him to howl as he turns to dust.
LYLE decks FAITH with a right and grabs her by her hair, tossing her
twisting into the air and over a shelf. FAITH hits the other shelf
across the aisle and it collapses in a heap. BIKKERVAMPS 2 & 3 coming
creeping down the aisle as LYLE walks slowly towards FAITH, who is
moaning in pain.
LYLE
Had enough, little girl. I can make it
easy on you if you just wave the little
white flag.
FAITH
I’ll just wave this...
FAITH kips up, yanking a metal base of the shelf with her and nailing
LYLE in the head with it. LYLE is sent sliding back first down the
aisle and smacks his head against the cooler.
BIKERVAMP #2 swings as FAITH moves the shelf in front of her, causing
him to punch the metal object. BIKERVAMP #2 howls in pain as FAITH
tosses the shelf to BIKERVAMP #3, who catches it and stares at it with
confusion.
FAITH leaps into the air and kicks the shelf, knocking it back into
BIKERVAMP #3’S head, sending him to the ground. FAITH catches the
shelf as he drops it and swings it like a bat at BIKERVAMP #2, sending
him flying through the air and into the slushie machine against the
wall, shattering the machine as BIKERVAMP 2 slides to the ground.
FAITH turns and slings the stocking shelf through the air, shattering
the glass the leads outside.
FAITH
Catch you later, boys.
FAITH runs and leaps through the air in a swan-like fashion through the
window.
EXT. THE GAS STATION
FAITH lands and rolls, getting to her feet quickly as she runs towards
her motorcycle.
INT. THE STORE
LYLE and BIKERVAMPS 2 & 3 get to their feet and look outside.
yellow eyes frown as he points at her.
LYLE’S
LYLE
Get her!
BIKERVAMPS 2 & 3 go charging out the window.
EXT. THE GAS STATION
FAITH yanks the gas pump out of her bike and throws it to the ground,
quickly closing the cap. She jumps on the bike and starts it quickly,
taking off out of the gas station.
BIKERVAMPS 2 & 3 come charging out after her as she pulls away, leaving
a gas trail behind her.
LYLE comes charging out.
EXT. THE ROAD
FAITH stops, turns, and looks back at them with a smirk on her face.
She closes the cap on her motorcycle as LYLE, BIKERVAMP #2, and
BIKERVAMP #3 frown in confusion.
LYLE
What the hell is that little heifer
doin’?
FAITH holds up a lighter she had in her pocket and flicks it on.
LYLE’S eyes widen as he looks down at the gas-covered ground where the
pump has been left running.
LYLE
Oh, hell...
LYLE turns and begins running as FAITH tosses the fiery lighter into
the air.
SLO-MO as LYLE leaps through the air and as the lighter falls, hitting
the ground.
The fire ignites, causing a fire trail to go up towards the gas pumps.
BIKERVAMPS #2 AND #3 frown in confusion as it passes them and hits the
gas pump.
THE BIKERVAMPS’s eyes widen as the gas pump explodes, lighting up the
dark sky. They yell as the fiery explosion consumes them, causing them
to yell out as they turn to dust before our eyes.
FAITH just stares darkly at the flames as her brown hair is hanging
slightly over her face.
FAITH
Go to hell.
FAITH turns her motorcycle and takes off into the night down the
deserted highway. LYLE GORCH comes walking from the ditch as he looks
at the burning store.
Aw, hell.
LYLE
It’s on now, babe.
LYLE climbs onto his motorcycle and begins riding into the night after
her. The gas station burns brightly in the background.
INT. A CAR – ENGLAND
BUFFY is frantically dialing a phone number as KENNEDY and WILLOW
ROSENBERG sit in the front seat and XANDER sits back by BUFFY.
BUFFY looks at them with worry.
BUFFY
No luck?
XANDER
I’ve tried my parents’ cell phones, their
home phones, and their e-mails.
Nothing’s working. They’re either not
home or the lines are down.
Same here.
WILLOW
No answers.
BUFFY
It’s just ringing...
Suddenly, there is an answer.
INT. A HOUSE – LOS ANGELES
HANK SUMMERS answers his phone, looking ragged in his bathrobe and hair
is a frizzy mess.
HANK
Hello?
Dad?!
Buffy?
BUFFY
Is that you?
HANK
Why are you calling so late?
BUFFY
Have you not been watching the news?
HANK
I’ve been asleep. What’s going on?
BUFFY
Look out your window, but don’t panic.
INT. HANK’S HOUSE
HANK shakes his head.
HANK
Buffy, what’s this about?
BUFFY
Just look!
HANK sighs and walks over to the window, opening his blinds. Outside,
he sees houses burning, people screaming, creatures running through the
streets. A VAMPIRE throws a bottle bomb into a car, causing it to
burst into flames.
HANK’S eyes widen.
HANK
Oh, my God!
BUFFY
Dad, don’t panic, okay?
BUFFY
What the hell is going on, Buffy?!
BUFFY
It’s the end of the world.
HANK
What are those things?!
Vampires, dad.
BUFFY
Vampires are real.
HANK
It can’t be. This a dream. A very
strange and bad dream. You’re a figment
of my imagination.
BUFFY
No, dad! This is real! Listen to me!
You need to stay inside the house. They
can’t come inside unless you invite them.
As long as you stay inside the house,
you’re safe. I’m flying out to Los
Angeles to get you, okay? I’m gonna help
you.
HANK
Stay inside so that they can get me?!
Are you crazy, Buffy?!
BUFFY
I used to think so, but all along, I’ve
known this was coming.
This isn’t real.
minute now.
HANK
I’m gonna wake up any
BUFFY
The sooner you accept that this is real,
the sooner you’ll be able to act! Now,
listen to me! Stay inside!
Suddenly, a VAMPIRE jumps out from HANK’S bushes, staring straight at
HANK through the window, his yellow eyes almost glowing as he growls
and bares his fangs at him.
HANK
Oh, shit!
THE VAMPIRE lights a rag sticking out of his bottle and throws it
through the window. HANK drops the phone as he dodges the flaming
bottle.
The bottle smashes into the ground and immediately lights the floor on
fire, spreading out across the room.
HANK yells.
HANK
They’re torching the house!
INT. A CAR – ENGLAND
BUFFY looks worried as tears form in her eyes.
BUFFY
Dad?!
Dad?!
HANK
The house is on fire!
Click and a dial tone.
with her hand.
Buffy!
BUFFY’S eyes widen and she covers her mouth
BUFFY immediately begins dialing frantically as KENNEDY looks at her
with worry.
KENNEDY
Buffy, what is it?
BUFFY
My dad. They set his house on fire,
They’re gonna get him! I gotta call him!
BUFFY finishes dialing the number and listens.
beeping “busy signal”.
She gets that loud
BUFFY
No!
BUFFY throws her phone against the window and it bursts into pieces.
BUFFY covers her mouth as tears well up in her eyes and she looks
frantic. XANDER looks down at the phone in the mirror.
XANDER
Okay, that’s not gonna help.
BUFFY
They’ve got him, Xander!

They’re gonna
XANDER suddenly looks serious and puts his arms around her in comfort.
XANDER
It’s gonna be okay, Buffy. We’ll go out
to L. A. and we’ll find him. Your dad
had to pass on some of those genes that
you have, right? He could escape.
BUFFY
You think?
WILLOW
Of course. He’s probably going toe to
toe with those vamps right now...
BUFFY suddenly looks worried again.
WILLOW’S eyes widen.
WILLOW
...or not. It was a prank. Yeah, a
prank. Good old Mr. Summers, always
pulling your leg. He’s at home laughing
at your gullibility...if that’s a word.
If not, he’s laughing at the actual word.
BUFFY
I appreciate what you’re trying to
do...although you’re doing it very badly.
We have to continue on with our plan. We
can’t let this personal stuff distract us
from the mission.
XANDER
Are you sure about that, Buffy? We can
be on the first flight to Los Angeles.
BUFFY
No. We need to go home and get Dawn.
Then, we’ll figure out our next move.
KENNEDY
You’re the boss.
KENNEDY continues to drive as BUFFY stares worriedly out the window.
INT. HANK SUMMERS’S HOUSE
HANK watches the fire spread around his house as VAMPIRES begin
creeping into his yard. He shakes his head in fear as they wait for
him to run outside. HANK runs into the other room and begins turning
on all of his water faucets. He plugs them and runs to the bathrooms,
turning on the bathtub, plugging them as water rises.
HANK then grabs a fire extinguisher and sprays it around the house,
fighting the fire for his life.
HANK yells as the fire continues to burn.
EXT. THE HOUSE
THE VAMPIRES smile sinisterly as the entire neighborhood seems to be
burning. They wait, their yellow eyes glowing.
INT. THE L. A. ARMY BASE
RILEY, GRAHAM, SAM, and some INTIATIVE SOLDIERS are coming out of an
office with AGENT GOODMAN and AGENT BROWN.
GOODMAN
Aim precisely. We don’t want any
civilian casualties.
RILEY
Of course. I’m assuming that you all
know what is at stake.
BROWN
We’re all out in the field with you,
Finn. This is the most important
obstacle we’ll ever face.
GOODMAN
We’ll be right by your side.
RILEY
See you in the field, agents.
GOODMAN and BROWN salute him and exit as RILEY turns to GRAHAM and SAM.
He shakes his head.
RILEY
Graham, I want you up top with your gun.
Sam, you drive. I’ve got the cannons.
GRAHAM
Yes, sir.
SAM
Which one are we taking?
RILEY points behind them to the Army tank parked behind them.
RILEY
This one. Load up, soldiers.

EXT. THE ARMY BASE
DEMONS and VAMPIRES have the building surrounded. Suddenly, a tank
bursts through the doors. GRAHAM is seen coming out of the top hatch,
aiming his machine gun at them. He fires, DEMONS begin being blown
back by the blasts as the tank squashes a few demons that get too brave
and charge.
Several other tanks roll out, with AGENTS GOODMAN and BROWN in the top
of them, firing shots. DEMONS are dropped as machine guns fire.
INT. THE TANK
SAM is steering at the front, looking out at the DEMONS.
the cannon on a group of VAMPIRES and fires.
RILEY turns
THE VAMPIRES are consumed in a ball of fire as DEMONS are blown back to
bits.
GRAHAM continues to fire the bullets into the DEMON HORDE, dropping
several of them as the number of DEMONS in the streets isn’t seeming to
shrink.
GRAHAM
Die, you evil bitches!
GRAHAM yells as he fires his machine gun into the horde once again.
EXT. GILES’S HOUSE – ENGLAND
DAWN SUMMERS is sitting on the porch in the countryside, catching the
view. She stands with anticipation as a van pulls up into the
driveway. DAWN immediately stands in anticipation.
DAWN
Buffy?
DAWN jumps down off the porch and runs over towards the van, just as
the doors open.
THE IMMORTAL steps out of the van, smiling down at DAWN.
DAWN frowns.
IMMORTAL
Dawn, how good to see you.
DAWN
Immortal, how did you get here?
IMMORTAL
The Immortal could not let my two
favorite girls go against evil alone,
could he? The Immortal is here to help.
Climb into the van. The Immortal shall
protect you.
DAWN frowns as THE IMMORTAL is acting strange.
pulls into the driveway and comes to a stop.
Suddenly, another car
BUFFY, XANDER, WILLOW, and KENNEDY emerge from the car, looking over at
DAWN and THE IMMORTAL.
BUFFY
Dawn, what’s going on?
Suddenly, ILONA COAST BIANCHI leans her head out of the window and
yells at THE IMMORTAL.
ILONA
Grab her and let’s move!
THE IMMORTAL suddenly decks DAWN, knocking her unconscious. He catches
her and throws her into the back of the van as BUFFY frowns in
confusion.
THE IMMORTAL tosses DAWN into the van and slams the sliding door shut.
XANDER
Hey!
XANDER charges and swings at THE IMMORTAL with a right. THE IMMORTAL
catches XANDER’S fist and twists the arm, causing XANDER to cry out in
pain. THE IMMORTAL tosses XANDER through the air and into the side of
the house with a thud.
BUFFY
What are you doing?!
ILONA slams on the gas, peeling back out of the driveway. ILONA points
a gun outside the van and shoots the tires on their car as she goes
past and out into the road.
THE IMMORTAL smirks as WILLOW raises her arms and shoots a bright blue
lightning bolt at THE IMMORTAL, who holds up his hand and redirects it
at KENNEDY, shocking her and causing her to collapse to the ground.
THE IMMORTAL then flips forward through the air and kicks WILLOW in the
chest, sending her back through the air and into a tree.
BUFFY swings at THE IMMORTAL, who raises his arm and blocks it. THE
IMMORTAL and BUFFY are locked in a gaze as BUFFY looks at him with
hurt.
BUFFY
What are you doing?
IMMORTAL
Never trust a being without a soul,
Buffy. The Key is ours.
THE IMMORTAL decks her, sending her rolling to the ground. THE
IMMORTAL turns and darts through the yard as WILLOW shoots balls of
light at him. THE IMMORTAL dodges them and uses WILLOW as a stepping
stone to leap through the air and land on top of ILONA’S van.
ILONA slams on the gas and peels off down the road as BUFFY recovers
and goes charging down the road after them. It is pointless, however,
as they disappear down the road into the distance with THE IMMORTAL
waving goodbye sarcastically from the top of the van.
INT. DALLAS, TEXAS – EXT. A HOTEL
LORNE and CLEM are walking along the dusty road as people look at them
strangely.
CLEM
They’re gonna make us choose, ya know.
mean, demons won’t take kindly to our
kind. We’ll be Uncle Toms to them.
I
LORNE
I know. The feel-good vibes of love and
harmony are finished and done. How did I
get myself stuck here?
CLEM
Well, ya know what?
LORNE
What is it, Clem?
CLEM
(breaks into song)

/And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed/

/The raindrops keep falling on my head, they keep falling/
LORNE looks at CLEM with fear.
He backs away, holding up his hand.
LORNE
What are you doing? Stop that. Stop
singing. Your future...it’s...oh, God.
Another man comes into the picture, holding out his arms as he sings.
MAN
(singing)
/The sun won’t come out/
/Tomorrow/
/Bet your bottom dollar/
/That Tomorrow/
/There’ll be no sun/
LORNE shakes his head, staring at the guy in fear. He backs away as
groups of people walk by, singing an old Beatles song. All around,
people start singing and dancing.
LORNE covers his ears and begins shaking his head. He drops to his
knees as he catches a glimpse of EVE (Angel, S5) standing by a car,
gazing at LORNE with anger.
LORNE
No! No! Stop this! You’re all in grave
danger! Stop it! STOP IT!
EVE begins walking towards LORNE as the people continue to sing. CLEM
prances off as he does a spin move. EVE reaches LORNE and stands over
him, an angry look on her face. She pulls out a gun and points it at
LORNE, smirking as people all around are breaking into song.
LORNE
What is going on?!
EVE looks down at him with an extremely angry gaze.
EVE
Thought I’d let you get away scott-free,
huh, Lorne? It’s time for vengeance.
What do you think, Sweet?
EVE looks behind LORNE, who turns to see SWEET, a red demon in a red
suit with an extremely pointy chin (BtVS, S6, Once More With Feeling).
SWEET
Now that’s...entertainment!
SWEET does a kick move, connecting with LORNE’S head and knocking him
unconscious. FADE TO BLACK.
INT. THE HOMELESS SHELTER
GUNN comes walking out of his room, aching in pain as chaos is still
happening out in the streets. Fighting, yelling, glass breaking, etc.
is heard through the streets as GUNN enters the main lobby, where ANNE
and RONDELL now sit with several HOMELESS PEOPLE, including old friends
CHAIN and JAMES, all looking grim. RONDELL looks flushed as beads of
sweat are pouring from his forehead.
Ah, man.
GUNN
The old crew!
GUNN walks into the room as ANNE stands up, looking concerned about
him. GUNN hobbles over to them and does his homeboy greeting, a halfhug, half-handshake.
ANNE
Gunn, are you sure you should be up
walking around?
RONDELL
Ah, don’t worry. That’s a flesh wound to
Gunn. We been cut up worse than that,
haven’t we, man?
GUNN
Of course.
What’s up, dawg?
GUNN and RONDELL slap hands as GUNN reaches him.
and frowns.
GUNN
Dude, you’re burning up.

RONDELL
I don’t know. I think one of those
demons got me with their teeth or
something. I’ll be cool.

GUNN
Chain, James.
What’s happening?
CHAIN

GUNN
Could be better, man.
RONDELL
Don’t we know it. It’s gone mad out
there, man. I don’t think we gonna be
able to walk the streets for a while.
Annie stocked up this place good, like a
nuclear bomb shelter. We’ve got food for
a while and water stored that she had put
aside for all the homeboys when they
stayed here.
GUNN
I suppose we’re gonna be getting more
roommates before this is all over.
ANNE
As many as we can fit and maybe more.
LES comes running from the front door with CALLIE.
LES
Someone’s trying to get in the door!
CALLIE
It could be vamps!
GUNN and RONDELL immediately charge towards the front door with ANNE
not far behind.
INT. THE MAIN ROOM
The front door bursts open and JACKSON, (Angel, S2, The Thin Dead Line)
THE DRUG DEALER, comes barreling through the door, pointing his gun
around the room. GUNN immediately catches his arm and slams him back
against the wall as RONDELL kinda staggers forward, sweating heavily.
GUNN
What the fuck are you doing here, man?!
JACKSON
Trying to find a safe place!

GUNN takes the gun away and shoves JACKSON back.

JACKSON
This is the only place that ain’t burning
here, man. I need a place to crash.
ANNE

ANNE

BUFFY, XANDER, WILLOW, and KENNEDY, all looking ragged, walk into the
conference room as GILES is going over some documents with ROBSON.
ROBSON
No problem, Giles. I’ll look into it
immediately.
GILES
Thank you, Robson.
ROBSON exits the scene as GILES turns to BUFFY.
Hello, Buffy.

BUFFY

GILES

BUFFY
What else is new? I meet this perfect
man without a soul and then I’m surprised

WILLOW
Where do you think they’re taking her?
BUFFY
Los Angeles. It’s the center of this
thing. That lawyer, Ilona Costa Bianchi,
works in Rome for Wolfram & Hart’s branch
there. I’ve had a few run-ins with her.
If they’re taking her anywhere, it’s
there.
GILES
Did he say why he took her?
BUFFY
I don’t know. He mentioned her as The
Key, though. I thought she had stopped
being The Key.
GILES
That was the assumption. I suppose I’ll
have to do more research on The Key and
see if there’s more information than
we’ve previously uncovered.
KENNEDY
I want another shot at that guy after
what he did to us.

BUFFY
Where’s my team?
ROBIN WOOD walks through the door with a smirk.
WOOD
I guess that would be us.
Following WOOD are VI, CHAO-AHN, COLLEEN, and ANDREW.
XANDER

You didn’t really think you were going
anywhere without us, did you?
COLLEEN
I’m not letting you out of my sight, Big Z.
COLLEEN winks at XANDER, who blushes.

Big Z. I spell my name with an ‘X’, but
now I’m thinking of changing it.
CHAO-AHN

XANDER, COLLEEN, VI, and the others all turn and look at her with
confusion. BEAT.
XANDER
Anyways, let’s get moving.
ANDREW
I’m here to be the brains of the
operation. The symbolic inspiration for
your epic quest.
BUFFY
Carry our bags.
ANDREW
Yes, ma’am.
ANDREW walks over and grabs some suitcases in the corner, giddy with
excitement as he picks up the bags and exits. BUFFY looks over at
GILES. She half-smiles with sadness.
BUFFY
What if we don’t make it back?
GILES
You will. You always do. I’ve learned
to never doubt your strength. You
overcome everything that’s put before
you. This time will be no different.
BUFFY
Thank you, Giles.
BUFFY hugs him.
WILLOW steps forward.
WILLOW
Buffy, we can’t really waste any time.
GILES
You all be safe...safe as you can be, I
suppose.
XANDER
Take it easy, G-Man.
WILLOW
Bye, Giles.
KENNEDY
Later, boss.
BUFFY, XANDER, WOOD, WILLOW, KENNEDY, VI, COLLEEN, and CHAO-AHN turn
and exit as GILES watches them grimly.
EXT. A HIGHWAY
FAITH is riding along on her motorcycle, the wind blowing her long hair
behind her.
However, immediately, the sound of more motorcycles are heard. FAITH
looks in her mirror, seeing four BIKER VAMPS riding along behind her.
Leading the pack is none other than LYLE GORCH, his demonic yellow eyes
staring ahead at FAITH’S form.
FAITH’S eyes widen as they close in on her.
with a big smile on his face.
LYLE pulls up beside her
LYLE
Hey, there, slayer girl! It’s time for
this buckin’ Bronco to throw you off!
LYLE removes a lasso-tied rope from his jacket and twirls it into the
air. THE FOUR BIKER VAMPS pull up behind her as FAITH slams on the
gas, picking up speed.
LYLE twirls the rope and slings it forward, missing FAITH, but catching
on the steering wheel. LYLE yanks it backwards, causing the bike to
swirl around. FAITH continues forward as the motorcycle stops.
FAITH flies through the air and hits the pavement with a thud, rolling
along the side of the road and with multiple thuds.
LYLE and the others watch FAITH’S motorcycle bounce up and down the
highway and laugh as FAITH rolls off the side of the road and down a
hillside.
EXT. THE HILLSIDE
FAITH rolls down the hill, making “ouch” noises and getting roughed up
as she hits the bottom of the hill and barrels through a wooden fence.
She is then motionless on the ground, several cuts and bruises evident.
FAITH looks woozy as she looks up to the top of the hill in pain.
Whooping and hollering is heard as LYLE and his BIKER VAMPS peer over
the hill at her. FAITH looks scared.
LYLE
She’s ours now, boys.
Let’s rodeo!
LYLE and the BIKER VAMPS come walking quickly down the hill, as they
are overlooking a large ranch, with horses grazing and cattle locked
behind fences.
FAITH tries to crawl a few feet, but is too injured to go far as LYLE
gets closer. As LYLE reaches her, a large rifle is shoved into his
face, backing him up just a bit.
LYLE looks up to see ROGER BURKLE standing there holding it.
ROGER
I don’t know what you boys are doin’ on
my property, but there ain’t gonna be no
funny business happenin’ here.
LYLE’S face morphs into its vampire form as ROGER’S eyes widen.
LYLE
You really think that gun is gonna help
you?
ROGER looks worried, but TRISH BURKLE comes into the scene, wielding a
cross and a pepper spray vial. She points it at LYLE’S face, causing
him to growl and back off.
TRISH
No, but this will.
LYLE
Ah, a feisty little housewife.

Whatcha
TRISH
Enough holy water to burn a hole right
through your head.
TRISH sprays it, connecting with LYLE’S hands.
his skin begins to burn.
LYLE howls in pain as
ROGER quickly reaches down and pulls FAITH up as TRISH holds them off.
ROGER
Come on, Trish. Let’s get inside. They
can’t come in unless they’re invited,
right?
LYLE
But we can hang around outside until you
come out.
TRISH
At least until the sun comes up.
ROGER and TRISH both help a weakened FAITH stand as they back up into
the farmhouse, closing the door behind them. LYLE looks angry as the
other BIKER VAMPS stand there.
LYLE
Anybody got a match?
INT. THE HOUSE
ROGER and TRISH help a limping FAITH over to a bed and lay her gently
into it. FAITH opens her eyes as ROGER and TRISH find a wet rag and
put it on her forehead.
ROGER
It’s okay, girl. We’re gonna make sure
everything works out for ya.
FAITH
Thanks.
TRISH

broadcasting as chaos goes on in the background.

The chaos here in Los Angeles is quickly

the nation concerning this matter any
minute now. For now, it is recommended
that everyone stay inside their homes and
maintain cover!
The noise of the television drowns out as FAITH moans in pain.
FAITH
What is going on out there?
ROGER
Demons are running all over California.
Started in Los Angeles and is now
reaching the state border. We’re right
in the line of fire.
TRISH
We haven’t heard from our daughter.
lives in Los Angeles.

ROGER
It’s okay, Trish. Fred will get in touch
with us as soon as she can find a safe
place.
TRISH
I hope you’re right, because otherwise, I
fear the worst for our daughter.
ROGER
There’s always hope, Trish. Fred’s a
fighter. She’ll make it through.

She’s just so helpless.
INT. THE ARIZONA DESERT
A member of THE INITIATIVE goes flying through the air and into the
side of the building with a thud. ILLYRIA appears and grabs the
SOLDIER by the throat, her bright blue eyes looking at him with rage.
ILLYRIA
You tell me where he is and I will
consider letting you live.
SOLDIER
In the holding cells...
ILLYRIA
Thank you.
ILLYRIA snaps his neck as she drops him to the ground as she walks into
the INTIATIVE COMPOUND.
INT. THE COMPOUND
MAJOR ELLIS is walking along the corridors as people are watching
monitors and communicating with other soldiers around the world.
MAJOR ELLIS shakes his head as the place looks frantic, people talking
on headsets as images of war in Los Angeles fill their screens.
RILEY and SAM FINN are seen on one screen, driving the tank as GRAHAM
fires his gun out of the tank.
RILEY
We’re pushing them back!

Watch them on
Onscreen, SAM turns the tank’s cannon to the left and fires, emitting a
huge burst and sending an explosion rocking through the rows of DEMONS,
taking out a large portion of them.
ELLIS
(putting on a headset)
Finn, what’s the estimate?
RILEY
Sir, there are too many of them!

ELLIS
The local sector is more than enough to
combat these creatures!
RILEY
They just keep coming! It’s like they’re
pouring out of a never-ending pool!
SAM
It’s crazy, Major Ellis!

(rubs his chin in thought)
Well, I’ll gather a group of men and—
A SOLDIER comes flying through the air and smashes against a power box
on the wall, sending sparks flying into the air. ELLIS shields his
eyes as a burst of flame comes from the SOLDIER’S corpse and begins to
burn. ELLIS turns as several SOLDIERS come charging with guns drawn,
pointing down the main corridor.
ELLIS looks into the corridor and sees ILLYRIA, standing before the
group of SOLDIERS with a determined expression.
ILLYRIA
You feeble men should move out of my
path.
ELLIS
What the hell is going on?!
SOLDIER #1 aims his gun as ELLIS walks over to them, facing off with
ILLYRIA.
ELLIS
Who are you?!
ILLYRIA
I have come for Ethan Rayne. Hand him to
me and I won’t leave your palace in
ruins.
ELLIS
I’m not handing anything over to you.
What the hell is this about?
ILLYRIA
I need not explain myself to the likes of
a human.
ELLIS
(taking out his gun and cocking it)
I think you need very much to explain
yourself.
ELLIS points his gun at ILLYRIA, who cocks her head the sight of the
gun.
ILLYRIA
You wish to harm me with your modern
weapons?
Who sent you?
Rayne?
ELLIS
Why do you want Ethan
ILLYRIA
I hate repeating myself to lower beings.
I’ve not time for this.
ILLYRIA leaps into the air, does a flip and kicks TWO SOLDIERS on her
way down, sending them flying backwards. She spins and kicks MAJOR
ELLIS in the chest, sending him back against the wall before using one
of their own machine guns to blow away all of the charging SOLDIERS.
ELLIS charges out of the corner, leaping onto ILLYRIA’S back.
RILEY
(on the TV screen)
Major Ellis, what’s going on back there?!
ELLIS
You can’t have our prisoner!
ILLYRIA
I take what I want, mortal.
ILLYRIA slings ELLIS through the air and onto a group of charging
SOLDIERS.
ILLYRIA walks forward, connecting with a right on one of the SOLDIERS,
sending him flying backwards.
ILLYRIA then yanks a grenade off the belt of one of the fallen SOLDIERS
and tosses it into the main control room, where most of the SOLDIERS
are working.
ELLIS’S eyes widen.
ELLIS
Oh, shit!
ELLIS is blown backwards as the grenade explodes, sending several
INTIATIVE members flying through the air before landing with a thud.
ILLYRIA stands victorious over a sea of bodies within the compound.
ILLYRIA walks down the corridors, yanking doors off of their hinges as
DEMONS come pouring out of their cells.
INT. A HOLDING CELL
ETHAN RAYNE peers out of the window with glee as DEMONS go running by
his cell, growling and yelling with ferocity.
Suddenly, the door to his cell comes flying off and is thrown against
the nearby wall. Standing outside of his cell is ILLYRIA, blinking her
eyes at the warlock.
ILLYRIA
You are Ethan Rayne.
ETHAN
Why, yes. I certainly am.

I am to take you to Los Angeles.
ETHAN
Oh, really?
ILLYRIA
Really...
ILLYRIA quickly grabs ETHAN by his shoulder and yanks him out of the
cell as he screams.
INT. THE MAIN CONTROL ROOM
MAJOR ELLIS is crawling along the floor, blood dripping from his
severed hand as he reaches up and talks to RILEY on the screen through
the receiver.
ELLIS
Finn, we’re...under attack.

You’re...on
Suddenly, DEMONS run in and attack ELLIS, biting and clawing at him,
chewing him to bits. He screams loudly as they devour him. Formerly
captive DEMONS are seen running through the compound, taking it over as
they attack the SOLIDERS within the walls.
RILEY
(o/s)
Major Ellis? Major Ellis, do you read
me? Major Ellis?!
INT. LOS ANGELES
Dead bodies are strewn throughout the streets as DEMONS are running
rampant all around the city.
INT. LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
DETECTIVE KATE LOCKLEY is busily taking phone calls as POLICE OFFICERS
all around are busily taking reports over the phone.
KATE
Yes, sir. We are trying our best to get
the situation under control. I assure
you that the LAPD aren’t really the
demons in disguise. We have several
officers in the streets with full riot
gear. (pause) I don’t know when we can
get to your report. We’re swamped, sir.
There are hundreds of thousands of
creatures running rampant in the streets!
We’ll get to you as soon as we can.
KATE hangs up the phone and sighs in frustration.

KENDRICK
Good to be back, Lockley?
KATE
Is it too late to reconsider my position?
KENDRICK
Unfortunately.

We’ve got calls coming in nonstop and it
doesn’t seem to be letting up.
KENDRICK
Welcome to the end of the world.
KENDRICK exits as the phone begins ringing again.

KATE’S face gets an attentive look on her face.
INT. HANK’S HOUSE
The house is still burning, as HANK fights to put out the flames while
holding his cell phone to his ear. From here on out, we cut back and
forth between the two in order to save some page space.
HANK
I’m trapped in a burning house! There
are things out there, trying to get in!
KATE
Where are you, sir?
HANK
Hank Summers. 2342 Mockingbird Lane.
Help me. Please.
KATE
Sir, I’m sure that you’re in a great deal
of trouble, but it’s hard for us to even
get out of the precinct. I’m afraid that
there’s little we can do at this point.
Please!
HANK
I have a daughter who needs me!
KATE looks concerned as she holds the phone close.
KATE
A daughter, you say?
HANK
She’s young, beautiful, and very
independent. I can’t go without telling
her how sorry I am for not being there
for her, to tell her how proud I am of
her strength. You see, her mom died, and
I wasn’t there. She handled everything
and it was her that was the strong one,
not me. We were too distanced from each
other to just reach out. I just want the
chance to make it up to her.
KATE is quiet, tears forming in her eyes.
KATE
I’m sure that she would love to hear
that.
HANK
Can you help me?
KATE hesitates.
KATE
I’ll make it there as fast as I can.
KATE hangs up the phone, grabbing her gun off the desk and cocking it.
She puts it into her holster and grabs her keys, heading for the door.
KENDRICK tries to stop her.
KENDRICK
Where are you going? We’ve got phones to
answer!
KATE
You answer them. I’m going to actually
do something and save lives.
KATE walks out the door, leaving KENDRICK shaking his head and going
back to his desk.
EXT. THE POLICE STATION
KATE LOCKLEY comes charging from the building and heading towards her
car. A DEMON pops out from behind it, causing KATE to fire her weapon,
blowing the DEMON’S brains out the back of its head.
THE DEMON slumps to the ground as A VAMPIRE leaps out of the shadows,
lunging at KATE. KATE spins around, kicking the VAMPIRE in the chin
with a right. THE VAMPIRE spins in the air and smashes into the ground
as KATE runs and leaps, jumping over the hood of her car before opening
the side door and getting into it.
KATE starts the car as THE VAMPIRE gets back to his feet. THE VAMPIRE
charges the car as KATE slams on the gas. She slams into THE VAMPIRE
as it catches the window, leeching itself to the front of the car. It
growls at her with its fangs bared.
She then slams on the gas once again, slamming into the VAMPIRE and
drives over his neck, decapitating him and turning him to dust.
INT. CARITAS
CONNOR is watching the chaos from the stairwell, enough to stay within
the confines of the non-violence spell. He has a sad look on his face
as DEMONS are tearing into buildings, sirens are heard squealing, and
people are laying dead in the streets.
Suddenly, his hair starts blowing as a helicopter is heard hovering
over him. CONNOR glances up to see the chopper lowering itself into
the middle of the street. THE DEMONS scatter, not wanting to get hit.
CONNOR watches it with fascination as the blades stop whirling and come
to a stop while the chopper rests.
The door to the chopper opens and outs steps ILONA COSTA BIANCHI,
looking around at the chaos.
ILONA
Unbelievable! Dirty Americans!
disgust me! I spit on you!

ILONA fake spits on the street as THE IMMORTAL emerges with DAWN’S arm
gripped tightly by him.
IMMORTAL
We have to get her to the firm.

IMMORTAL

All an act to keep tabs on you and your

DAWN tries to hit THE IMMORTAL, but he catches her arms and shoves her
to the ground, standing over her fallen form.
THE IMMORTAL
Don’t you ever try to hit me again!
THE IMMORTAL reaches down and grips DAWN by her throat, yanking her to
her feet with force.
IMMORTAL
You are a feeble person, Dawn.
DAWN
(crying)
Please, let me go.
CONNOR
(o/s)
You heard the girl. Let her go.
THE IMMORTAL, ILONA, and DAWN turn to see CONNOR, his face concentrated
on them as he stands, his hair hanging down over his face.
Oh, look.
THE IMMORTAL
You have a savior.
ILONA
Such a skinny little rat. Why would you
be so stupid as to speak against The
Immortal?
CONNOR begins walking forward, a look of anger on his face.
CONNOR
You underestimate me.
DAWN
Help me!
IMMORTAL
I’ve not time for this!
ILONA steps out to stop CONNOR, but he catches her fist and twists her
arm, causing her to flip through the air and smash into the helicopter
before falling to the ground with a thud.
IMMORTAL
How dare you!
THE IMMORTAL leaps into action, jumping at CONNOR with teeth bared.
CONNOR does a back flip, catching THE IMMORTAL on the chin and causing
him to flip through the air.
CONNOR and THE IMMORTAL both land on their feet, ready to strike. THE
IMMORTAL lunges out with a right, but CONNOR dodges the blow, swatting
THE IMMORTAL forward, spinning, and elbowing THE IMMORTAL in the back.
THE IMMORTAL howls in pain as CONNOR does a cartwheel, catching THE
IMMORTAL’S head in his legs, lifting his hands and flipping forward,
slinging THE IMMORTAL flipping through the air to the ground with a
thud.
CONNOR runs and grabs DAWN’S hand, pulling her away as she glances back
at the standing IMMORTAL.
CONNOR
Come on!
CONNOR and DAWN take off into the demon-filled streets as THE IMMORTAL
runs after them.
THE IMMORTAL
Get back here! I’m not letting you go!
THE IMMORTAL charges into the chaos as CONNOR and DAWN retreat.
INT. A HELICOPTER
BUFFY, WILLOW, XANDER, KENNEDY, WOOD, VI, CHAO-AHN, ANDREW, and COLLEEN
are seated on the chopper. They are all looking anxious, except for
COLLEEN, who is twirling her hair while smiling at XANDER.
WOOD
I don’t know what you guys are expecting
once we get to Los Angeles, but I’m
telling you, from what I’ve seen on the
news today, it’s gonna be bad.
You know it.
XANDER
Ooh, ooh.
You know it.
WILLOW
Xander, now’s not the time for the
Michael Jackson jokes.
COLLEEN
Your jokes are funny, Xander.
XANDER
You really think so?
VI
She can think?
KENNEDY
How are the nine of us gonna make any
kind of impact in that huge city of
demons?
BUFFY
Kennedy, we just have to believe. I’ll
move heaven and earth to save Dawn from
harm.
ANDREW
Our epic quest is about to hit a zenith
in its development. Will the heroes
triumph or will they be martyred before
their time?
Everyone looks at ANDREW, who takes a sip of his Capri Sun.
XANDER
Can you please stop narrating?

CHAO-AHN nods her head, smiling acting as if she’s skinning a cat by
making hand motions.

You need to be scared, Xander. This is
one trip we might not all make it back
from.
COLLEEN
You mean I’d die a virgin?
XANDER
Not unless you really want to.
XANDER and COLLEEN continue smiling at each other as KENNEDY rolls her
eyes and shakes her head.
KENNEDY
What’s the plan once we get there?
VI
My guess is to kill anything with fangs
or horns.
BUFFY
How much farther do we have, Wood?
WOOD
Not long. We should be over Los Angeles
in about 20 minutes.
BUFFY just nods her head and stares out at the clouds surrounding them.
WOOD looks at her closely.
WOOD
What’s going on in that head?
BUFFY
I’m just thinking about Dawn and my
father, hoping that they’re okay.
WOOD
I’m sure they’re fine, Buffy. The
Immortal seemed to go to a great deal of
trouble to get to Dawn. I doubt he did
it all just to kill her the minute he got
his chance.
BUFFY
You’re probably right.

I don’t know.
BUFFY
He’s in Los Angeles...somewhere.
WOOD
Buffy, I understand your desire to save
your father, but we have to save the
world first.
BUFFY
Trust me, Wood. I know I have to stay
focused. Let’s land this thing. We have

Good to hear.
INTERCOM VOICE
Please take your seats. We will be
landing in Los Angeles soon.
Everyone begins buckling their belts.
INT. THE STREETS OF LOS ANGELES
Chaos has taken over the streets as CONNOR ducks into an alley with
DAWN on his arm. CONNOR glances out at the streets as he sees VAMPIRES
spray-painting the brick walls.
DAWN
Where are we going?
CONNOR
Go any ideas?
I don’t know.
DAWN
I know a place.
Good.
CONNOR
I’m fresh out of options.
DAWN
Come with me.
DAWN and CONNOR take off down the alley as THE IMMORTAL and ILONA come
walking down the street, looking through the chaos for them. They see
nothing. THE IMMORTAL kicks a VAMPIRE nearby in frustration.
INT. A ROOM WITH A STAGE
LORNE is in the room, tied to the column in the center of it as EVE and
SWEET sit at a table nearby. SWEET notices LORNE awaken and stands,
twirling towards him and stopping next his face.
SWEET
Rise and shine, you green-skinned people
eater.
LORNE
(hazily)
Where am I?
EVE
You know only what I want you to know.
LORNE
Ah, Evie. You found me so fast. You
could have just called. You’ve got my
number, right, chick-a-dee?
EVE smacks LORNE hard across the jaw, causing him to cry out in pain.

Poof. Smoke fills SWEET’S surroundings briefly. A top hat and cane
appear on SWEET and he begins singing Lady Marmalade. LORNE looks into
the demonic face of SWEET. His eyes widen in terror. LORNE shakes his
head.

No!

SWEET continues his song and dance.
INT. HANK’S LOS ANGELES HOME
HANK’S wall falls forward as VAMPIRES cheer the burning home. HANK is
trapped inside with his fire extinguisher as VAMPIRES begin to close in
on him. HANK watches as they cause the threshold of his house. FOUR
VAMPIRES are seen grinning from ear to ear as they approach him.
HANK
What the hell are you people?
LEAD VAMPIRE
Not people.
The FOUR VAMPIRES leap at HANK, who sprays a couple of them with his
fire extinguisher. Suddenly, a gunshot rings out, ripping a hole in
the chest of another one. VAMPIRE #4 tackles HANK to the ground.
VAMPIRE #3 turns to see who shot him. KATE LOCKLEY approaches from her
police car, gun aimed straight at VAMPIRE #3.
VAMPIRE #3
That hurt!
KATE
You think that’s bad, take another step.
I’ve got more where that came from.
HANK throws VAMPIRE #4 off of him as KATE advances.
KATE
Stab them in the heart!
HANK grabs a piece of wood and jams it into VAMPIRE #4’S chest,
immediately turning him into dust.
VAMPIRE #1 & 2 both leap at KATE, who turns too late and is tackled by
both of them.
KATE flips them both over onto their back. VAMPIRE #3 charges as KATE
kips up to her feet, connecting with a karate kick to his face.
VAMPIRE #3 does a 360 in the air and hits the ground with a thud.
VAMPIRES #1 & 2 both stand as KATE decks VAMPIRE #1 with a right,
sending him to the ground. VAMPIRE #2, however, connects with a left
punch to the jaw of KATE, sending her down to the ground.
HANK charges out of the house, nailing VAMPIRE #2 with his fire
extinguisher. VAMPIRE #2 goes down as VAMPIRE #1 leaps onto KATE.
KATE and VAMPIRE #2 struggle as VAMPIRE #3 tackles HANK. KATE nails
VAMPIRE #3 with a right, but VAMPIRE #1 helps pin her down. They both
bare their fangs.
Suddenly, they are both yanked backwards, gaining air as they hit the
ground with a thud.
CU on CONNOR, who smirks at them on the ground.
CONNOR
Hello, boys.
CONNOR quickly flips sideways and nails VAMPIRE #3 with a cartwheel
kick, sending him flying off of HANK. DAWN runs up, grabbing her
father and pulling him away from the scene.
DAWN
Dad, let him handle them!
KATE looks up at CONNOR as he invites all THREE VAMPIRES to charge at
him. They do.
CONNOR falls forward, landing
His feet connect with VAMPIRE
as VAMPIRE #3 swings at him.

KATE grabs her gun and holsters it as CONNOR turns to her.
CONNOR

KATE
I’m okay. I don’t know where you learned
to fight, kid, but you’re a lifesaver.
HANK hugs DAWN tightly.
HANK
Dawn, what are you doing here?

KATE

have to get out of L. A. Everyone, get

CONNOR

Let’s move!
KATE jumps into her car. HANK lets go of DAWN and climbs into the
front seat. CONNOR helps DAWN get into the backseat as he climbs in
after her. More VAMPIRES come charging at the car as it pulls away.
INT. THE BURKLES’ FARM – TEXAS
FAITH sits up in her bed, looking over and seeing ROGER BURKLE standing
by the window with a shotgun. Pacing the room beside him is TRISH
BURKLE, a worried expression on her face.
FAITH
Are they still here?
FAITH walks over to the window and stands next to ROGER, looking
outside. ROGER and TRISH look at FAITH with amazement.
TRISH
You’re certainly feelin’ better.
FAITH
I heal quickly.

You guys risked your lives for me?
ROGER
Ain’t no monsters gonna kill innocent

Suddenly, a bottle bomb sails through the window, shattering the glass.
The bottle explodes on the ground, spreading fire around the room.
FAITH reaches up and picks out a wooden beam from the window in her
hands before turning to ROGER and TRISH.

FAITH
I’ll take care of them.
She swan dives through the window, rolling to her feet.
Ahead of her, LYLE GORCH and his band of BIKER VAMPS stand in
anticipation. LYLE smiles.
Ah, look.

Save some for
THE FOUR BIKER VAMPS bare their fangs as they charge. FAITH stands in
wait, moving forward and jamming BIKER VAMP #1 in the chest as he
arrives. BIKER VAMP #1 turns to dust immediately.
FAITH spins around with a kick, connecting with the head of BIKER VAMP
#2, sending him to the ground. FAITH blocks a punch from BIKER VAMP #3
before catching his arm and twisting it. FAITH leaps and catches BIKER
VAMP #4’S head between her legs. She rolls forward, flipping both
BIKER VAMP #3 & #4 through the air. They both hit with a thud.
FAITH stands and throws the “stake” through the air, embedding it into
BIKER VAMP #2’s chest, dusting him on impact.
BIKER VAMPS 3 & 4 get to their feet as FAITH lunges forward with a
karate kick on #3. BV #4 grabs her hair, yanking her backwards. FAITH
rolls backwards and elbows BV#4. She turns and decks him with a right.
FAITH then does a flip forward, landing by the stake as BV#3 charges
with a right hand. She dusts him quickly before spinning around and
sending the wood through the air, catching BV#4 in the chest, dusting
him on impact.
FAITH turns as LYLE GORCH stares at her with his demonic yellow eyes.
The fire has spread behind FAITH as it illuminates her form.
LYLE
Y-y-y-you’re lucky I’m not in the
fightin’ mood, cowgirl. I’ll see you
again. That’s for damn sure.
LYLE jumps onto his motorcycle and revs the engine before peeling off
into the night.
ROGER and TRISH emerge from the house as their home is consumed in
flames. FAITH turns and looks at the house with them.
FAITH
You couldn’t get it out?
ROGER
It spread too quickly.
TRISH
What are we gonna do without a place to
live?
FAITH
Stick with me.
FAITH grabs a helmet off of one of the Harleys.
over it as ROGER and TRISH look hesitant.
She throws her leg
FAITH
I know some people who can give you
shelter. Besides, I could use the

ROGER

TRISH
It’s been a long time since we rode the

ROGER

ROGER grabs a helmet and extends it to TRISH. ROGER puts one on his
head and gets onto the motorcycle. TRISH looks back at their burning
home with sorrow.

I’m tired of the farm life,
TRISH takes the helmet and puts it on, climbing onto the bike behind
ROGER. FAITH and ROGER gun their engines. ROGER and TRISH gaze at
their house behind them as the wood continues to fall inside. FAITH
nods her head to them and takes off into the night. ROGER and TRISH
follow close behind.
INT. A WOODED AREA
A car speeds down the country road as the chaos has yet to spread to
the isolated countryside.
INT. THE CAR
KATE LOCKLEY is driving as DAWN SUMMERS screams. The tires are heard
screeching as HANK SUMMERS and CONNOR look fearful.
DAWN
We’re gonna get killed!
KATE
Rest easy. I’ve driven through some
pretty heavy pursuits. We’ll be fine.
Where’s your parents’ house, kid?
CONNOR
Up ahead, and my name’s Connor, by the
way.
Sorry, Connor.

KATE
Safety first, names
HANK
Watch out!
A DEMON jumps out in front of the car, growling. KATE slams into the
DEMON and flattens it underneath the wheel. CONNOR moves forward,
gazing ahead. His eyes widen.
CONNOR
Oh, my God!
DAWN
What?!
CONNOR
Pull over here!
KATE slams on the brakes, pulling up to a stop outside of a burning
home. CONNOR throws open the door and runs out, looking at the blazing
home. He stares intensely at the flames.
CONNOR
No!
DAWN climbs out behind him, looking up at the house.
DAWN
Connor, what’s wrong?!
CONNOR
Mom!
Dad!
CONNOR goes running up towards the house as DAWN looks on with
confusion. KATE leaps from the car as CONNOR sprints towards the
house. CONNOR looks through the flames and looks panicked.
KATE runs up next to him as CONNOR spots three motionless bodies
burning within the house. He yells and starts to go inside, but KATE
grabs him from behind.
No, don’t!
KATE
There’s nothing you can do!
CONNOR
Let go of me!
CONNOR swings his arm back, shoving KATE to the ground. CONNOR sprints
towards the door, but just before he reaches the home, the building
explodes in front of him, causing him to shield himself and stagger
backwards. Tears form in his eyes as he falls down to his knees.
CONNOR puts his hands to his head and screams.
No!
CONNOR
No-o-o-o-o-o!
CONNOR starts to sob as DAWN and HANK walk over from the car. CONNOR
falls forward, collapsing into a crying heap as DAWN puts her hand on
his shoulder in comfort. CONNOR cries uncontrollably as HANK helps
KATE up to her feet. The wail of CONNOR is heard as we are shown an
overview of the empty hills of California, save for a bright fire
burning in the distance.
INT. WATCHER’S COUNCIL HEADQUARTERS – ENGLAND
RUPERT GILES and ROGER WYNDHAM-PRYCE are walking down the hallways of
the building, observing some training and treatment rooms.
In one room, SHANNON and CARIDAD are sparring.

ROGER looks at them
ROGER
If we’re going to fight what’s coming,
we’re going to have to light a fire under
them. This level of skill just won’t be
satisfactory in war.
GILES
I assure you that these girls have
already seen battle and have done very
well to still be here with us. Shannon
was actually stabbed by the preacher
Caleb and languished in the hospital for
weeks back in Sunnydale.
ROGER
If she had been properly trained, she
wouldn’t have been stabbed.
GILES
She wasn’t properly trained because she
had yet to join our group! Roger, if you
have reservations about how I’m training
these girls, feel free to challenge me
with the council.
ROGER
That won’t be necessary...at least, not
yet.
ROGER steps over to the next window as GILES tries not to explode.
They look through a two-way mirror to see DANA (Angel, Episode 5.11),
clothed in a straightjacket. Her room is padded with white as she sits
within the room in silence, a look of anger on her face.
Dana.

ROGER
Have we made any progress with
GILES
Mild. She’s no longer taking Thorazine,
but her behavior is still manic and
violent at times. We’re hoping that with
more therapy sessions, she will make some
much-needed improvement and may
eventually be released into our

ROGER

wasting time on lost causes.
GILES

LILAH MORGAN is watching the chaos through the streets from her offices
as THE FIRST/WESLEY appears behind them with a smirk.
THE FIRST/WESLEY
The takeover is almost complete. Very
soon, my soldiers will have run all over
Los Angeles, leaving piles of bones in
their wake. Once the city of angels is
mine, all surrounding areas will slowly
crumble one by one.
LILAH
I really wish you’d change shape.
THE FIRST/WESLEY
Why is that, Lilah? Did you have real
feelings for old Wesley? Is this
disconcerting to you?
LILAH
Wesley was better than me.

ILLYRIA stares at THE FIRST/CALEB with anger rising on her expression.
She turns and exits the room without another word. ETHAN looks up at
the cowering THE FIRST/CALEB with a shiver.

Lilah, will you kindly show this man her

LILAH opens a cabinet in the corner, revealing a cheerleading trophy
(Episode 1.3, The Witch) from Sunnydale High School. LILAH grips it in
her hands as she holds it up for ETHAN to see.
THE FIRST/CALEB
Ms. Catherine Madison has been trapped in
this cheerleading trophy now for years.
She’s got enough power to combine with
yours to perform some rituals that I need
done, power that none of Wolfram & Hart’s
contacts can obtain.
ETHAN
Then why can’t she bloody well free
herself from a trophy?

Unfortunately, it was her own spell that

LILAH leads ETHAN away as THE FIRST/CALEB smiles.

INT. THE STREETS OF LOS ANGELES
RILEY pours out of a tank, firing an automatic machine gun into an army
of DEMONS. Several of them are knocked backwards. However, one
WEBBED-ARMED DEMON leaps up at RILEY, seemingly floating through the
air. WEBBY tackles RILEY off of the tank, knocking him down into the
streets. SAM pops up out of the tank and yells.
SAM
Riley!
RILEY dodges WEBBY’S sharp teeth as he flips him off of him. RILEY
turns as WEBBY lands on his feet and swings at him with his claws.
RILEY jumps back to dodge the blow as SAM turns the cannon and fires on
some DEMONS charging RILEY. They are blown to the ground.
RILEY lunges forward with a karate kick to WEBBY’S throat, knocking him
backwards. WEBBY does a back flip through the air and lands on his
feet next to SAM on top of the tank.
WEBBY backhands SAM as RILEY leaps onto the tank, decking WEBBY with a
right. WEBBY falls off the tank, but floats through the air onto
GRAHAM’S tank. GRAHAM turns his gun towards WEBBY, but WEBBY flips
through the air, kicking GRAHAM in the face and causing him to turn the
wheel.
RILEY helps SAM regain her composure.
RILEY
Are you okay?
SAM
Riley, look out!
WEBBY leaps off of GRAHAM’S tank, floating through the air. He comes
towards RILEY with menace, but is quickly stopped in mid-air by some
familiar hands that grab him by the shoulders.
RILEY and SAM look up to see a helicopter hanging above them. BUFFY
has WEBBY in her grip as KENNEDY leaps from the helicopter, doing a
flip in mid-air before landing on her feet next to WEBBY. KENNEDY jams
a stake forward into WEBBY’S chest, causing him to convulse and die in
BUFFY’S grip. BUFFY tosses the dead demon to the ground as she drops
onto the streets of Los Angeles.
RILEY and SAM look on in amazement as BUFFY smirks.
RILEY
Buffy, what are you doing here?!
BUFFY
There’s an Apocalypse. You know they
don’t have one of those without me.
Looks like you could use a hand. Let’s
get moving!
KENNEDY goes charging towards the demons, her eyes filled with rage as
she kicks the head off of a DEMON in the street, sending his head
flying before blocking the punch of another one. KENNEDY gives the
DEMON a sharp left hand, knocking it back to the ground.
CHAO-AHN, VI, and COLLEEN all leap from the helicopter as XANDER
emerges behind them with an Uzi. CHAO-AHN, VI, and COLLEEN settle into
their fighting poses.
XANDER
Angels...kick some ass.
CHAO-AHN immediately karate kicks a DEMON before turning and decking
another with a right. She then does a spinning back kick to its face,
sending it into some burning wreckage near them, causing it to dust on
impact.
VI charges forward, leaping into the air. She gravitates before
hitting a DEMON square in the chest. THE DEMON goes backwards, causing
a domino effect that sends many into a nearby fire.
COLLEEN decks a demon with a right before blocking another charging
DEMON from punching her. He does a back flip, catching DEMON #2 under
the chin with her foot, causing him to flip backwards.
XANDER immediately begins firing his weapon at DEMONS as GRAHAM, RILEY,
and SAM join him.
BUFFY round kicks one DEMON while decking another.
WOOD jumps down, two sai in his hand as he throws one forward,
penetrating a DEMON’S head. WOOD karate kicks a charging DEMON in the
throat before swinging the second sai through the air and into the
chest of another DEMON.
WILLOW emerges, an intense look on her face as she forms a fireball in
her palm. It builds until it becomes a good size. WILLOW then throws
the fireball forward, disintegrating a bunch of DEMONS closing in on
them. WILLOW’S eyes are white as she smiles.
WILLOW
Next...
WILLOW floats gently down as ANDREW watches on in fear from the
helicopter, slurping a Capri-Sun while filming the battle with his
video camera.
The fight continues to rage.
INT. THE HILLS
CONNOR is standing outside of his burning house, staring into the
flames before him. Behind him, HANK, KATE, and DAWN are pitching a
tent to sleep for the night.
CONNOR looks emotional, very upset with the night’s events as tears
well up in his eyes and his hair hangs down over his face. DAWN walks
up beside him, looking sympathetically at him.
DAWN
Kate thinks that they won’t come back
here since they’ve already been through
this part of the city. They think it’ll
be a good place to get some rest before
we move out.
CONNOR
They’re probably right.
DAWN
Um, and I wanted to thank you for saving
me from that guy. I don’t really know
what they wanted with me, but it wasn’t
good.
CONNOR
(barely listening)
You’re welcome.
DAWN
I know what you’re going through. My mom
died a few years back. It devastated me.
It was like the whole world stopped and
what went on out there didn’t matter
anymore. My dad, he wasn’t even there
for us. Me and my sister had to pretty
much take care of ourselves.

KATE and HANK are resting as HANK watches DAWN and CONNOR by the fire.
KATE
There’s still time, ya know.
HANK
For what?
KATE
For you to reach out to her. She wants
you to whether you know it or not.
HANK
What makes you so sure?
KATE
Because I waited for my father to reach
out to me until the day he died. Only
then it was too late. Judging by the
state of the world, I’d say that this was
the perfect time for father-daughter
bonding to begin.

Connor shouldn’t be kept here to watch
his home burn.
DAWN walks off coldly as HANK looks saddened by her reaction.
INT. WOLFRAM & HART HOLDING CELLS
ANGEL and SPIKE are pacing in separate cells next to each other, both
looking impatient.
SPIKE
I bloody wish you’d stop pacing.

SPIKE and ANGEL look out into the hallway to see ILLYRIA walking the
cell halls. She looks at them with confusion.

ILLYRIA

SPIKE

ILLYRIA has nothing to say. She almost looks hurt. ILLYRIA turns and
exits the scene as ANGEL rests his head on the bars.
EXT. WOLFRAM & HART – LOS ANGELES
BUFFY, XANDER, WILLOW, KENNEDY, WOOD, ANDREW, CHAO-AHN, COLLEEN, and VI
stand facing RILEY, SAM, GRAHAM, and THE INITIATIVE.
A pile of dead demons and dust litter the ground as fires burn in the
background. RILEY smiles as he steps forward and hugs BUFFY.
RILEY
I have never been so glad to see you in
my life.
BUFFY
Luckily, I had some sister rescuing to
do.
RILEY
Dawn get herself into trouble again?
XANDER
The girl is a walking curse.
RILEY
(smiles)
Good to see you, Xander.
XANDER

WOOD
We don’t have time for any reunions and
introductions. We have to invade the
building and get Dawn out of there.
RILEY
We can provide artillery and cover.
SAM
Of course. Whatever resources we have
are at your disposal.
BUFFY
Riley, you guys come with me. Xander,
you lead the rest around to the back
entrance. We’re gonna have them
surrounded once we get inside.
XANDER
Aye, aye, cap’n. Angels, let’s move!
XANDER waves them after him as he takes off running towards the back of
the building. WILLOW, KENNEDY, COLLEEN, WOOD, ANDREW, VI, & CHAO-AHN
follow him.
BUFFY turns to RILEY, SAM, GRAHAM, and the rest of the INITIATIVE.
BUFFY quickly runs over to the door puts her back to the wall. RILEY,
SAM, GRAHAM, and the rest get ready behind her, guns cocked and ready.
Voices can be heard inside as LILAH MORGAN is walking with HOLLAND
MANNERS through the lobby.
LILAH
Angel and Spike could pose a problem.
Why didn’t the First dust them?
HOLLAND

LILAH
I just question the decision to lock them

BUFFY looks wide-eyed back at RILEY.

charge into the building, causing a stir at the front desk. HARMONY
KENDALL looks up with fear as LILAH and HOLLAND turn in surprise.
LILAH
Oh, shit.
RILEY and the INITIATIVE begin firing their weapons, dropping several
lawyers with the shots. HARMONY is blown back over the counter as
LILAH and HOLLAND jump behind some leather chairs.
INT. WOLFRAM & HART – LOS ANGELES
ETHAN RAYNE, being supervised by THE FIRST/CALEB, is drawing some
symbols on the floor, preparing a ceremony as THE IMMORTAL and ILONA
COSTA BIANCHI stroll through the door, not looking the least bit happy.
The trophy rests in the center of the circle as ETHAN finishes drawing.
IMMORTAL
We lost the girl.
THE FIRST/CALEB
How?!
ILONA
A dirty rat American took her from us!
Americans! Filthy people! We speak of
them no more!
THE FIRST/CALEB
That girl is the key to my return!
IMMORTAL
We’ll get her back.
THE FIRST/CALEB
You’re damn right we will.
ETHAN
Pardon me for interrupting, but I’m ready
to begin.
THE FIRST/CALEB
Don’t let us stop you.
ETHAN raises his arms and the room goes dark, the candles lining the
room the only source of light. THE IMMORTAL and ILONA watch with
amazement as ETHAN raises his arms into the air.
ETHAN
Hades, Hades, hear my call!
Wind begins swirling through the room as THE FIRST/CALEB watches with a
smile. THE IMMORTAL and ILONA look intense as the wind blows their
hair. ETHAN’S form begins to rise as the trophy in the middle of the
circle begins to glow.
INT. WOLFRAM & HART
DEMONS and VAMPIRES are seen walking around in normal fashion, some
sitting at desks talking while some LAWYERS walk the floor.
The back door is thrown open. XANDER charges in, yelling as he swings
a battle axe at a nearby VAMPIRE, decapitating him and dusting him
immediately.
All of the DEMONS and VAMPIRES turn to see XANDER standing there with
the battle-axe. He suddenly realizes that he’s alone.
XANDER
Uh, jumped the gun, didn’t I?
Guys?!
The VAMPIRES all growl and begin charging him.
COLLEEN, VI, and CHAO-AHN are the first through the door. VI leaps
through the air, connecting with a kick to the chest of a charging
VAMPIRE. VI blocks the punch of another VAMPIRE, decking him with a
right. Another VAMPIRE comes from behind, but VI does a back kick,
connecting with their knee and causing it to break.
COLLEEN throws a stake forward, lodging into the chest of a VAMPIRE,
dusting him. A VAMPIRE charges her and she jumps into the air,
twirling with a sidekick as she sends a VAMPIRE flying.
CHAO-AHN jumps and kicks TWO VAMPIRES in the face, sending them flying
backwards. She blocks a punch from a VAMPIRE, catching their arm
before kicking backwards and catching another with a kick. CHAO-AHN
jerks the FIRST VAMPIRE forward, shoving it into the other VAMPIRE
before lifting her crossbow and firing an arrow. It lodges through the
first VAMPIRE, dusts it, and flies through the second VAMPIRE, too.
Dust.
XANDER
Charge!
WILLOW and KENNEDY charge in as WILLOW zaps some VAMPIRES into dust
with a blue light firing into them. KENNEDY does a forward flip,
landing on a desk and sliding sideways, catching some LAWYERS and
VAMPIRES with a spinning kick.
WOOD charges into the room, lunging forward with some karate kicks and
catching some VAMPIRES by surprise. WOOD jams a stake forward, turning
one to dust as another charges him from behind. WOOD twirls the stake
and slings back under his arm, catching the VAMPIRE with the point and
dusting him.
ANDREW is seen hiding under some desks, looking around at all of the
chaos around him as he films it with his video camera.
Another door flies open as BUFFY leads RILEY, SAM, GRAHAM, and several
others into the room.
BUFFY
I’m going for the holding cells!

RILEY
Sure thing!
RILEY opens fire on some of the DEMONS, hitting them and sending them
back to the ground in bloody heaps as SAM begins fighting several of
the charging creatures.
BUFFY swings her scythe while twirling through the room, decapitating
several DEMONS and VAMPIRES as she passes through the room and heads
down a corridor marked “BASEMENT”.
The fight rages on with VAMPIRES getting staked and turned to dust.
INT. THE MAIN OFFICE
ETHAN RAYNE floats in the air with his arms outspread as the candles
burn and the wind blows. THE FIRST/CALEB stands by, unfazed with THE
IMMORTAL and ILONA by his side.
The trophy in the middle of the room glows blue as it begins to float
into the center of the room.
Release her!
ETHAN
RELEASE HER!
The trophy emits a bright light, causing THE IMMORTAL and ILONA to
cover their eyes.
ETHAN
Free her from the prison that has
restrained her!
The trophy explodes and disappears before their eyes as ETHAN levitates
back to the ground. ETHAN lowers his arms and the light come back on.
Sitting inside the circle, naked, is CATHERINE MADISON, curled up into
the fetal position.
CATHERINE is trembling as ETHAN takes off his robe, draping it over her
as he steps forward.
CATHERINE
Where am I?
The door is thrown open.
THE IMMORTAL’S arm.
HARMONY comes running into the room, grabbing
Buffy’s here!

HARMONY
They’re attacking
THE FIRST/CALEB
Get rid of them!
IMMORTAL
My pleasure.
THE IMMORTAL turns and walks out the door with HARMONY close behind.
ETHAN helps a confused CATHERINE stand as THE FIRST/CALEB watches on
with his arms crossed.
THE FIRST/CALEB
You may be wondering just where you have
ended up, Ms. Madison. Your memory will
return in time. All you currently need
to digest is the fact that I brought you
back from the prison that held you.
CATHERINE
Ms. Madison?
ETHAN
That’s you, dear.
CATHERINE
Right.
THE FIRST/CALEB
Rest assured, Catherine. You are a very
important asset to me. I will take good
care of those loyal to me.
ETHAN and CATHERINE look at THE FIRST/CALEB and ILONA with hope.
INT. STAGE ROOM
LORNE is tied to a column in the middle of the room as SWEET is still
dancing on stage. SWEET ends his song and dance with a bow towards
LORNE. SWEET smirks.
SWEET
Did you enjoy that routine, Lorne? I’ve
got more where that came from, you know.
LORNE
You’re gonna kill me. That’s what they
brought you here for. I tried to kill
Lindsey and he’s getting me back. But,
you forget.
SWEET
What did I forget?
LORNE
I know how to sing, too.
LORNE uses that high-pitched squeal to belt out a tune. SWEET yells
and covers his ears as LORNE rips his restraints off of the column.
LORNE leaps at SWEET, sending him back onto the stage, where they
struggle with each other. SWEET flips LORNE over, causing him to hit
the ground with a thud.
SWEET backspins to his feet as LORNE stands. SWEET jumps forward with
a kick, but LORNE moves. LORNE decks SWEET with a right fist to the
jaw, sending SWEET to the ground. SWEET backspins again, sweeping
LORNE’S feet out from under him. LORNE hits the ground with a thud a
SWEET lunges forward, trying to choke LORNE.
LORNE knees SWEET in the ribs, causing him to let go. LORNE shoves
SWEET off of the stage and to the ground with a thud. LORNE stands and
charges, leaping through the air as he tackles SWEET to the ground,
knocking over a nearby table.
LORNE jerks SWEET up and tosses him backwards into the column inside
the room. LORNE grabs a battle-axe off of the wall and stands over a
fallen SWEET, who looks up with fear.
LORNE
That’s showbiz.
LORNE wings the battle-axe down and decapitates SWEET with a slice.
SWEET’S body goes limp and rests on the floor as LORNE looks around in
anger at the doorway.
LORNE
Your turn, Evie.
LORNE storms out of the stage room.
INT. HOLDING CELLS – WOLFRAM & HART
BUFFY comes charging down the corridors, looking inside each room.
Angel?!
Angel?!
BUFFY
Spike?! Can you hear me?!
BUFFY turns and is met with a kick from someone. BUFFY is sent flying
through the air and smacks into the walls with a thud. Dazed, she
looks up and sees hr attacker. ILLYRIA.
ILLYRIA
You look for the half-breeds. They are
imprisoned, not to be set free.
BUFFY cracks her neck as she stands, looking at ILLYRIA with anger.
BUFFY
If that’s the way you want to play it,
blue girl, that’s fine. One way or
another, I‘m walking out of here with my
friends. You wanna try and stop me?

BUFFY crouches down in tiger position as ILLYRIA looks at her, cocking
her head to the side.
INT. THE OFFICES
Chaos is erupting as SLAYERS, VAMPIRES, LAWYERS, DEMONS, and SOLDIERS
are immersed in a brawl.
RILEY and SAM FINN leap forward with a double karate kick, sending a
couple of DEMONS down.
XANDER swings his battle-axe, dusting some VAMPIRES with a
decapitation.
A VAMPIRE grabs XANDER from behind, baring his teeth.
VAMPIRE
You’re mine!
COLLEEN appears out of nowhere, driving a stake into the chest of THE
VAMPIRE, which turns to dust.
XANDER
You saved my life.
COLLEEN
Anything for you, my sweet.
COLLEEN steps forward and kisses XANDER on the lips. The doors behind
them are thrown open as THE IMMORTAL and HARMONY arrive. COLLEEN
turns, just in time to receive a swing from THE IMMORTAL.
THE IMMORTAL’S arm goes through COLLEEN’S chest and out the other side.
In his hands, he holds COLLEEEN’S heart. THE IMMORTAL shoves COLLEEN’S
dead body forward as XANDER catches her in his arms.
XANDER
Colleen!
No!
XANDER gently puts her on the ground as he looks at her with his good
eye welling up tears.
WILLOW
Xander, look out!
XANDER looks up as THE IMMORTAL raises his arm to swing again.
However, ROBIN WOOD slides over a desk, grabbing an old-looking book
from it and swings it, connecting with THE IMMORTAL to the face and
causing COLLEEN’S heart to bounce to the floor.
THE IMMORTAL is knocked to the ground as HARMONY leaps forward with her
fangs bared. She jumps onto WOOD, sending him staggering backwards.
KENNEDY leaps through the air and tackles HARMONY from WOOD, knocking
them both to the ground.
XANDER looks down at the deceased COLLEEN and then turns his head
towards the standing IMMORTAL. Anger is etched on his face.
XANDER
You bastard!
XANDER rips his battle-axe and charges THE IMMORTAL, swinging it
forward. THE IMMORTAL dodges it as XANDER swings the opposite
direction. THE IMMORTAL dodges it again, grabbing XANDER and slinging
him against the wall with a thud. XANDER drops the battle-axe and
decks THE IMMORTAL with a right.
KENNEDY punches HARMONY with a right before spinning around and kicking
her in the chest. HARMONY is sent through the air and back against the
wall.
THE IMMORTAL grabs XANDER by his throat and lifts him into the air with
one arm. XANDER struggles as RILEY fires his weapon into THE
IMMORTAL’S chest. THE IMMORTAL drops XANDER as RILEY fires again. THE
IMMORTAL takes a step forward, laughing as he backhands RILEY across
the room. RILEY falls into a desk, causing it to collapse.
SAM leaps forward, swinging at THE IMMORTAL with rights and lefts, all
of them being blocked by THE IMMORTAL as he takes a few steps back.
SAM swings with one last right, but THE IMMORTAL traps her arm under
his and hits her with a chop to the face. SAM hits the ground.
INT. CORRIDOR
BUFFY and ILLYRIA prepare to fight as ILLYRIA tilts her head.
ILLYRIA
You are not mortal, yet not immortal.
BUFFY
You’re blue, yet not a berry.

BUFFY swings with a right, but ILLYRIA catches her arm and flips her
forward. BUFFY hits the ground with a thud, but springs back to her
feet. BUFFY throws a left at ILLYRIA who blocks it and swings with a
left of her own. BUFFY ducks underneath the swing and kicks ILLYRIA in
the gut before decking her with a right.
ILLYRIA backhands BUFFY, who spins around with a kick to the face.
ILLYRIA steps forward with an open palm to BUFFY’S chest, sending her
through the air and into a door with a thud.
INT. ROOM
ANGEL and SPIKE turn at the sound and frown.
ANGEL
That sounded weird.
SPIKE
What the hell is going on out there?
ANGEL and SPIKE rush to the door, looking through the glass window.
They see BUFFY leap off of the door and kick ILLYRIA in the chest,
knocking ILLYRIA back against the other doors.
ANGEL
Buffy!
SPIKE
Bloody hell!
They start pounding on the door.
INT. CORRIDOR
ILLYRIA leaps from the wall and kicks at BUFFY, who dodges it and decks
ILLYRIA with a right. ILLYRIA decks BUFFY with a right. ILLYRIA spins
around and connects with a back kick to BUFFY’S back. BUFFY falls to
her knees, yanking ILLYRIA’S feet out from under her. ILLYRIA falls to
the ground and BUFFY swings down at her. ILLYRIA catches her fist and
rolls her fist out of her way before backhanding BUFFY across the face.
ILLYRIA leaps to her feet and swings with a right. BUFFY ducks
underneath it and knees ILLYRIA in the ribs. BUFFY then knees her in
the face and decks her with a left. ILLYRIA falls to the ground as
BUFFY spots ANGEL and SPIKE in the window trying to get her attention.
BUFFY
Oh, my God.
BUFFY walks towards the door and yanks it open. ANGEL and SPIKE both
rush out. ANGEL grabs BUFFY and hugs her tightly.
ANGEL
Thank God you’re here!
SPIKE pulls ANGEL away and hugs BUFFY.
SPIKE
I’ve missed you, pet.
Hey!
ANGEL
I wasn’t done with my hug!
ANGEL pulls SPIKE off of BUFFY and decks him with a right. SPIKE is
sent to the ground next to ILLYRIA as ANGEL hugs BUFFY. BUFFY frowns
as SPIKE stands.
SPIKE hits ANGEL in the kidneys with a left, grabbing BUFFY away from
him and hugging her. BUFFY punches SPIKE, sending him back to the
ground as ANGEL stands with a smile.
See!
ANGEL
She wants me.
BUFFY punches ANGEL, knocking him to the ground next to SPIKE and
ILLYRIA. SPIKE laughs at ANGEL.
BUFFY
Stop acting like a couple of kids!

We
BUFFY yanks both ANGEL and SPIKE to their feet by grabbing their hands.
ANGEL and SPIKE glare at each other as ILLYRIA stands.
ILLYRIA
They fight like animals.
BUFFY
Who the hell is she, by the way?!
Illyria.
ANGEL
She’s with us.
BUFFY
Could have fooled me.
ILLYRIA
The First didn’t live up to his bargain.
I am confused.
SPIKE
He was never going to give you that
power, pet! It would ruin his plans!
You’ve been had!
ILLYRIA
I wish to destroy him.
ANGEL
Yeah, well, stick with us and you might
get your chance.
BUFFY
Let’s go help the others!
SPIKE
Others?
BUFFY
I brought the whole gang.
Follow me!
BUFFY turns and takes off running down the corridor.
ILLYRIA follow quickly.
ANGEL, SPIKE, and
INT. THE OFFICES
XANDER leaps onto THE IMORTAL’S back, ramming him head first into a
column nearby. THE IMMORTAL twists and slings XANDER through the air,
sending him crashing into VI and CHAO-AHN as they charge.
GRAHAM steps forward, firing shots into THE IMMORTAL with his machine
gun. THE IMMORTAL staggers back with each shot until HARMONY leaps
onto GRAHAM’S back, biting viciously into his neck.
RILEY turns as GRAHAM screams in agony.
RILEY
Graham!
HARMONY tosses a limp GRAHAM to the ground as several SOLDIERS are seen
lying in pools of blood.
THE IMMORTAL walks forward, snapping the necks of GOODMAN and BROWN,
both of whom drop to the ground dead.
WILLOW zaps a few more VAMPIRES with her magic as RILEY leaps through
the air, smacking HARMONY back against the wall. SAM crawls over to
GRAHAM as he lays there in pain, moaning.
EXT. TEXAS HOTEL
EVE is standing outside of a limousine, talking to someone inside.
EVE
He’s paying for everything.

Suddenly, LORNE comes charging out of the hotel, spotting EVE by the
limousine. LORNE begins walking towards her in an uncharacteristic
rage.
LORNE
Here’s looking at you, kid.
EVE

LORNE lunges at her, wrapping his hands around her throat. LORNE’S
face is full of rage as EVE gasps for air. The limo door opens.
LORNE
See what you’ve turned me into!
A FIGURE steps out of the limo.
MALE VOICE
Hey, Lorne.
LORNE turns to see LINDSEY MCDONALD, swinging a sword at him. The
sword rips through LORNE’S neck and sends his head crashing down to the
ground. LINDSEY steps forward and looks down at LORNE’S head on the
ground. LORNE’S eyes frown.
You?
LORNE
You’re dead. How is this possible?
LINDSEY
Anything’s possible in this world, Lorne.
You know that. After all, you’re a demon
from another dimension that see people’s
futures when they sing. How possible
does that sound?
EVE
Your betrayal is unacceptable, Lorne.
Luckily for Lindsey, he thinks ahead. He
had a lifetime contract with Wolfram &
Hart. Bound beyond even death. Wall-a.
Instant immortality.
LINDSEY
Not that I plan on fulfilling that
contract. I’m sure Wolfram & Hart will
send their contract terminators after me,
but until they reach me, I’m immortal.
Angel should have thought of that. Too
bad for you.
LORNE
You can’t kill me with a beheading.
LINDSEY
Trust me, Lorne. I know how to kill
someone from Pylea. I’ve done my
research. You should have never messed
with me. I was on your side. Fighting
the good fight. Now, I’m on my own side
and no one’s getting in my way.
LINDSEY and EVE stare down at LORNE’S crumpled body and severed head
with evil gleams in their eyes.
EXT. LOS ANGELES
HANK, KATE, CONNOR, and DAWN are driving into the city. KATE is behind
the wheel with a stone expression on her face. CONNOR looks sadly out
at the city in flames as DAWN looks over at her father him.
DAWN
You’re sure this bar is a safe place?
CONNOR
It had an anti-violence spell cast on it
several years back. It’s the only place
they won’t be able to harm us.
KATE
I still think going back into the city is
a bad idea.
HANK
Those things are overtaking the outlying
cities by now. We can’t outrun them not
knowing where we’re going.
KATE
Charging back into the crowd is not the
plan I envisioned as an alternative.
DAWN
It could work. They’ll feed and then
they’ll move on to other cities. They
could overlook us.
CONNOR
Caritas is just up ahead.
KATE
Oh, shit!
A swarm of VAMPIRES come leaping from the sides of the street, leaping
onto the car or throwing themselves in its path. The numbers are too
big for the car to move past them, as they appear quickly, grabbing the
car.
CONNOR
Get everyone to safety!
CONNOR kicks out his window before leaping through the remains. He
decks VAMPIRE #1 with a right and VAMPIRE #2 with a left before ripping
open the back door of the car.
CONNOR whips it around, taking out several VAMPIRES with the door.
DAWN, HANK, and KATE emerge from the car as CONNOR turns, hurling the
door through the air. It sails, decapitating several VAMPIRES on its
way down, turning them to dust.
KATE turns and fires her gun into the gas tank, causing gasoline to
come pouring from the hole.
A VAMPIRE grabs her, but she elbows it in the head.
KATE
Anybody got a lighter?!
HANK
I do!
HANK reaches into his pocket, breaking out a lighter. He flicks it on
and throws it onto the puddle of gasoline that is forming. THE
VAMPIRES panic as HANK grabs DAWN and ushers her past the retreating
creatures. CONNOR and KATE take off after them as the fire ignites and
the car explodes. Most of the VAMPIRES are dusted by the flames that
devour them.
CONNOR, KATE, HANK, and DAWN looks back at the flameing car with
sadness as more VAMPIRES come lurking out of the shadows.
DAWN
What now?!
CONNOR
There’s a lot of them, but we can fight
our way out.
KATE
That’s thinking very positive, kid.
Suddenly, a water balloon busts over CONNOR’S head. CONNOR is
surprised as water rolls down his face and clothing. He looks over to
see ANNE STEELE standing with RONDELL and GUNN, both of whom have
crossbows aimed at the VAMPIRES.
ANNE
That’s holy water! If they touch you,
they’ll be immense pain.
RONDELL throws another balloon, busting it over DAWN as GUNN tosses one
at KATE and ANNE at HANK. The holy water-soaked foursome walk towards
them as VAMPIRES growl their dissatisfaction at them as they pass.
CONNOR stares into the eyes of some of the VAMPIRES with intensity as
RONDELL holds open the door to the homeless shelter. HANK, DAWN, KATE,
and CONNOR walk into the facility as ANNE, RONDELL, and GUNN follow
them inside, shutting the door to reveal a large cross covering the
doorway.
INT. WOLFRAM & HART OFFICES
The fight is raging. RILEY and SAM are fighting people off of GRAHAM’S
injured body as XANDER charges at THE IMMORTAL, ramming him into the
wall. VI and CHAO-AHN kick some VAMPIRES as WILLOW zaps them with her
magic blasts.
THE IMMORTAL punches XANDER with a huge uppercut, causing him to sail
through the air and land on the ground with a thud.
BUFFY, ANGEL, SPIKE, and ILLYRIA step into the room.

SPIKE yells as he charges towards him, several VAMPIRES stepping in his
way. SPIKE clotheslines two of them, sending them crashing to the
ground, where VI and CHAO-AHN plow stakes into their chests, dusting
them.
ANGEL nails some DEMONS with a few rights and lefts, snapping some of
their necks as BUFFY charges at THE IMMORTAL, swinging with rights and
lefts. THE IMMORTAL, blocks the blows, shoving BUFFY into a nearby
wall. BUFFY bounces out, connecting with a right onto THE IMMORTAL’S
face. THE IMMORTAL decks BUFFY with a left as fights rage around them.
BUFFY spins around and kicks THE IMMORTAL with a roundhouse, causing
him to flip through the air and crash to the ground. BUFFY does a few
back flips, grabbing XANDER’S battle-axe and swinging it in a circle,
decapitating several VAMPIRES surrounding her.
BUFFY swings with forward through the air. The battle-axe twirls
through the air as THE IMMORTAL turns. It beheads THE IMMORTAL with
one swoop as he turns to dust and disappears before their eyes.
BUFFY
Well, I guess he’s not all that immortal
after all.
Suddenly, the room begins being filled with VAMPIRES, more VAMPIRES
than can be fought. ANGEL, SPIKE, ILLYRIA, RILEY, SAM, VI, CHAO-AHN,
WILLOW, KENNEDY, and XANDER all stand.
ANGEL
Run.
The group begins sprinting through the door as THE VAMPIRES all come
charging out of the woodwork, filling the room as the group exits.
BUFFY leads them as they sprint for the exits.
HARMONY walks forward, looking down at the body of GRAHAM MILLER on the
ground. HARMONY bends down an lifts GRAHAM’S head up, smiling down at
him. GRAHAM coughs as he looks up into the face of HARMONY.
HARMONY
Well, you’re kinda cute.
GRAHAM
Help me.
HARMONY
Okie dokie.
HARMONY slashes her chest with her fingernails, causing some blood to
dribble down her bosom. HARMONY buries GRAHAM’S head into her chest,
causing him to drink her blood.
HARMONY begins moaning in pleasure as GRAHAM drinks.
HARMONY
That’s right, cutie. Let Harmony show
you the way.
INT. WOLFRAM & HART LOBBY
BUFFY, ANGEL, SPIKE, ILLYRIA, XANDER, WILLOW, KENNEDY, VI, CHAO-AHN,
WOOD, RILEY, and SAM come charging through the lobby as VAMPIRES pour
in off the streets.
WOOD nails one with the book he grabbed earlier as ANGEL and SPIKE deck
a few charging ones. XANDER tackles one through the glass window at
the front of the building as ILLYRIA shoots her arm forward., sending
one flying into another charging group. VI and CHAO-AHN fight a couple
of VAMPIRES as WILLOW sends a bolt of magic to open the front doors.
WILLOW waves her arms.
WILLOW
Separate!
VAMPIRES go flying through the air as they part to clear a path for the
heroes. They all sprint out the door and into the streets.
INT. WOLFRAM & HART OFFICE
THE FIRST/CALEB looks down as BUFFY, ANGEL, SPIKE, WILLOW, KENNEDY,
XANDER, VI, CHAO-AHN, RILEY, and SAM sprint from the building. ILONA
steps forward next to THE FIRST/CALEB.
ILONA
You’re just going to let them escape?
THE FIRST/CALEB
It doesn’t matter. Their ends will come
soon enough. Their sins will be called
in and their souls will become mine. I
will become flesh.
THE FIRST/CALEB and ILONA watch as they fade into the distance.
EXT. TEXAS HOTEL
LINDSEY and EVE have LORNE’S body and head spread out on a pyre as
LORNE watches them with his eyes.
LORNE
You can’t do this! I never wanted to
hurt you, Lindsey. It went against
everything I stood for.
LINDSEY
I don’t want to hear excuses, Lorne.
just want to hear silence.
I
LINDSEY flicks a cigarette lighter on as LORNE looks saddened.
LORNE
This is how it ends, huh?
EVE
For you, anyways.
LINDSEY
Look on the bright side, Lorne. The
worst is yet to come and you won’t be
around to see it.
LORNE
I know. I’ve already seen it.

LINDSEY
Happy trails.
LINDSEY drops the lighter onto LORNE’S body and it immediately ignites.
LORNE doesn’t even scream. He just remains silent as his body burns
and his breath leaves him. LINDSEY and EVE watch as the body burns,
looking into the flames with intensity.
EVE
What now, Lindsey?
LINDSEY
We make them pay. Angel, Wolfram & Hart.
Everyone. They’re going to regret they
ever heard the name of Lindsey McDonald.
They remain silent as they watch LORNE burn to his death.
EXT. HOLLYWOOD HILLS
OVERVIEW of the DEMONS tearing the city apart bit by bit. Fires, loud
screams, and crashes of glass breaking can still be heard as RILEY FINN
watches the chaos below. SAM FINN walks up behind him, squeezing his
shoulder in support.
SAM
There was nothing you could’ve done,
Riley. Graham fought for what he
believed in. We all knew that our fates
weren’t necessarily good ones.
RILEY
But we hoped they would be. Sam, we
failed our mission. Now, Graham is dead,
the Initiative is probably disbanded, and
we failed the world. We made an oath to
protect this country from the forces of
darkness. We’ve been dishonored, because
that oath was a lie.
SAM
No, we tried our best.
RILEY
Did we? Maybe if I had tried a little
harder, Graham wouldn’t be dead and this
country wouldn’t be in shambles.
SAM
If there’s something I can say or do—
There’s not.
RILEY
Excuse me.
RILEY pulls away from SAM and walks towards the Initiative helicopter
parked nearby. SAM looks over at BUFFY, who heard the entire
conversation. BUFFY looks with empathy at her before walking over
towards the chopper, where the surviving members of the assault are
waiting. WOOD, ANGEL, SPIKE, XANDER, VI, CHAO-AHN, ANDREW, ILLYRIA,
WILLOW, and KENNEDY are there.
VI, CHAO-AHN, and XANDER are getting stitched up by WILLOW and KENNEDY
as ANDREW speaks on a cell phone nearby. WOOD is reading through the
book he stole from the offices. BUFFY reaches them and looks at both
ANGEL and SPIKE with a half-smile.
BUFFY
I never thought I’d see either of you
again.
ANGEL
I thought we were goners.
SPIKE
I knew we’d kick their asses.
but a bunch of sods.
Nothing
BUFFY
Right.
SPIKE
Aren’t you surprised to see me? Last you
knew, I was dust at the bottom of the
Hellmouth back in Sunnydale.
BUFFY
Not really. Andrew can’t keep a secret.
He told me that you were alive as soon as
he came to visit me in Rome.
SPIKE
That little...excuse me.

We’ll talk
BUFFY
Sure.
SPIKE turns and walks off towards the helicopter as BUFFY turns to
ANGEL, both looking each other in the eyes.
ANGEL
Thank you for coming and getting us out
of there.
BUFFY
You’re welcome. Our trip was meant to
find Faith, but it’s a pleasant surprise
finding you instead.
ANGEL
It was pleasant being found.
BUFFY
I heard you were dating a girl werewolf.
That’s so Underworld of you.
ANGEL
Well, you know, it’s not serious. I
actually sent her away before all of
this...to find Giles, actually.
to find her.
I need
BUFFY
You’ll like the Watcher’s Council
headquarters. They have all kinds of
resources and stuff. Kind of like you
had at Wolfram & Hart, minus the evil.
ANGEL
It was a cover.
BUFFY
Yeah, I know. Come on. We have to go
before those demons invade these hills.
ANGEL
Can we win this fight, Buffy?
BUFFY
I hope so. Now that we’re all together
again, let’s hope so.
ANGEL and BUFFY stare at each other with heavy gazes until ANDREW is
heard screaming in the background.
SPIKE
(o/s)
I told you not to tell her about me, you
ninny!
BUFFY and ANGEL turn to see SPIKE, pinning a frightened ANDREW to the
helicopter.
ANDREW
It was a moment of weakness! I have
important news from Giles! Please don’t
hurt me!
BUFFY
You talked to Giles?
Yes.
ANDREW
Qui-Gon himself!
BUFFY
Spike, let him go.
SPIKE grunts in dissatisfaction and drops ANDREW to his feet. XANDER,
VI, and CHAO-AHN listen as WOOD continues to flip the pages in the
book. ANDREW straightens up his shirt and looks at everyone as SAM
FINN joins the group.
ANDREW
Faith contacted Giles. She’s in Texas,
but she’s making her way home. Our
mission has been reprimanded.

XANDER
Really? Bummer. I was thinking of
staying at seeing the sights...you know,
of all the dead friends I now have.
ILLYRIA
The one-eyed human says strange things.
XANDER
You are a blue girl! You are strange!
ILLYRIA
I want to poke out your other eye.

SPIKE
Calm down, Blue. He’s like that with
everyone.
VI
He lost a girl he liked today.

WILLOW

ANGEL
Apparently Cyvus Vail killed him before
all of these demons charged into Los
Angeles.
XANDER
Probably more so. Who are you, anyways?
ILLYRIA
I am Illyria.
Oh.
XANDER
(still confused)
I guess that explains everything.
WILLOW
Sorry about Colleen, Xander.

XANDER
That just follows the pattern of my
previous relationships. Cordelia and
Anya didn’t fare well after dating me.

WILLOW

KENNEDY
But wouldn’t that mean you killed them
after you mated with them?
XANDER
Okay, bad analogy. Let’s go home.
WILLOW
I couldn’t agree more.
SAM
Riley, you coming?
RILEY nods, stepping up into the helicopter.
RILEY
Retreat, soldiers.
RILEY straps himself into the pilot’s seat as SAM looks sadly at him
before climbing into the passenger seat. WILLOW and KENNEDY climb
inside as SPIKE and ANDREW follow.
WOOD steps off of the helicopter, walking over to BUFFY and ANGEL.
WOOD
Buffy, I stumbled upon this book while
inside. Just kinda grabbed it without
thinking. It’s a Codex. It has all
sorts of interesting information in
it...end of the world stuff. It can help
us turn this thing around.
BUFFY
Okay. You hold onto it until we get it
to Giles. He’ll know what to do with it.
He’s book guy.
WOOD
Okay.
WOOD turns and climbs onto the chopper as BUFFY turns to ANGEL.
BUFFY
Let’s go to England.
ANGEL
Just don’t put me by the window. The
sun’s bound to come out at some point in
our flight home.
BUFFY and ANGEL walk towards the chopper.
INT. THE WATCHER’S COUNIL
RUPERT GILES stares out the window of the building, looking grim and
hopeless. OZ walks into the room in his scrubs, looking at GILES with
a frown.
OZ
Giles, uh, Dana is asleep for the night.
I gave her a shot of Thorazine.
GILES
Thank you, Oz.
OZ
What’s the deal with the group in L. A.?
Any news?
GILES
We lost Colleen and everyone in the
Initiative besides Riley and his wife.
They weren’t enough to fight them off.
Los Angeles is a lost cause.
OZ
Most people said that years ago.
GILES looks at OZ with a confused frown.
OZ
Yeah, Los Angeles is a cesspool. I mean,
you have your standard lowlifes who mug
old ladies in alleys. Then there’s the
Hollywood set with all the drugs and the
DUIs. Who likes that crowd?
GILES
Oz, we could be wiped off of the earth.
OZ
That’s much worse, I suppose.
GILES
The worst is yet to come, I’m afraid.
GILES turns back towards the window, looking out at the streets of
London with sadness as OZ walks up beside him.
GILES
I’m saddened at what lies ahead.
INT. LOS ANGELES DESERT HIGHWAY
CONNOR and DAWN are by a huge bonfire, looking out across the vast
desert area as the fires of Los Angeles burn. CONNOR looks sadly at
the chaos. DAWN reaches over and grabs his hand in comfort.
GILES
(v/o)
People will lose their homes and they
will be sent down paths of uncertainty,
striving to figure out their place in
this dark new world.
CONNOR gently pulls DAWN closer to him and they hold each other
comfortingly.
INT. THE HELICOPTER
RILEY and SAM exchange uneasy glances as RILEY looks intensely unhappy.
They lift off into the air, steering the helicopter away from DEMONS
that are just now beginning to charge up the hills.
GILES
(v/o)
Relationships will begin building anew as
those that we have lost will become our
enemies. It will become brother against
brother, child against parent, friend
against friend, with the underlying
shadows of good against evil lurking in
the background.
EXT. WOLFRAM & HART ROOF
HARMONY stands with THE FIRST/CALEB, ETHAN RAYNE, CATHERINE MADISON,
ILONA COSTA BIANCHI, LILAH MORGAN, HOLLAND MANNERS, above a large mound
of dirt in a semi-circle that has been built into a grave on top of the
skyscraper. A hand shoots out of the mound of dirt. HARMONY smiles as
GRAHAM MILLER emerges from the grave, looking at her with a smile.
HARMONY walks forward, looking him over. GRAHAM and HARMONY kiss.
GILES
(v/o)
Their numbers will increase and our will
decrease. We will become outlaws,
fugitives in our world as the old ones
return to claim their land.
INT. HOMELESS SHELTER
CONNOR, DAWN, HANK, and KATE sit eating with GUNN, who is smiling down
at them.
GILES
(v/o)
They will pursue us to the ends of the
earth. As the balance of power tips in
their favor, The First will become whole
and we will be wiped out as a race.
INT. A DESERT HIGHWAY
FAITH, ROGER BURKLE, and TRISH BURKLE are seen riding their motorcycles
down the abandoned roads.
GILES
(v/o)
This war has just been waged. In the
end, we are the ones who must rebel. We
are the ones who must band together and
unite in order to overthrow this evil.
INT. LOS ANGELES STREETS
ANNE STEELE helps GUNN over to the window and they stand side by side
watching DEMONS run through the street, tearing things apart.
GILES
(v/o)
We are mankind’s last hope.
INT. HELICOPTER
CU on the people inside as we PAN down the line from the back of the
chopper to the front. VI. CHAO-AHN. XANDER. KENNEDY. WILLOW.
WOOD. ANDREW. SPIKE. ANGEL. And Finally BUFFY, who has an emotional
look on her face.
INT. THE WATCHER’S COUNCIL
GILES looks grimly out at the streets as OZ looks solemn.
GILES
The final days are here.
