The Trustees of the California State University will receive sealed bid proposals from pre-qualified bidders
in the Procurement Office, Building 75, at 3801 W. Temple Ave., Pomona, California, to furnish all labor,
materials, equipment, apparatus, facilities, transportation, and permits for the Residential Suites – Phase II
Cabling Project at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona).
Sealed bid proposals will be received before 2:00 PM on July 14, 2009, in accordance with the contract
documents, at which time the proposals will be publicly opened and read. The bid must be submitted on the
Bid Proposal Forms provided by the University, completely filled out and sealed in an envelope.
Project Description: Provide Voice, Data and CATC Cabling Infrastructure for the Residential Suites Phase
II Project at Cal Poly Pomona. Construction estimate is $600,000.00. License requirement is C-7. Project
Architect: Sasaki Associates.
Bid package, plans and specifications will be available from Mission Reprographics, 2050 E. La Cadena Dr.,
Suite L, Riverside, CA. (additional location in Rancho Cucamonga) Contact Gary Schwalbe at (951) 6868828. Cost is $150.00 per package not refundable. Make checks payable to California State Polytechnic
University, Pomona.
Each bidder offering a proposal must comply with bidding provisions of Article 2.00 et seq. of the Contract
General Conditions for Design-Bid-Build (Major Capital Outlay) Projects (hereafter referred to as Contract
General Conditions). Bidder shall enclose with the Bid Proposal Form a bidder’s security in an amount equal
to ten (10) percent of the amount of the bid, including additive alternates (see Article 2.06 (c) of the Contract
General Conditions). If the bidder is awarded the contract and then fails to execute the contract, this bidder’s
security shall be forfeited to the Trustees. The bidder should be familiar with all the provisions of the
Contract General Conditions and Supplementary General Conditions.
The University has obtained from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations a special prevailing
wage determination of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work in the
locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of work needed to execute
the Agreement. Copies of schedules of rates so determined are on file in the Procurement Office and are

A non-mandatory bidder’s conference has been scheduled for June 23, 2009, at 10:00 AM. Bidders should
assemble at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, 3801 W. Temple Ave., Pomona, CA
91768, Building 49A. Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend this bidder’s conference at the scheduled
date and time.
Bidders must submit the Prequalification of Prospective Bidders and Affidavit of Joint Venture forms
at least 5 calendar days prior to the bid opening to the Chancellor’s Office at the following address.

The Bid Documents are available to bidders who have been pre-qualified by the Chancellor’s Office, and
licensed in the State of California with a C7 license. Pre-qualification letters should be faxed to Lorraine
A. Rodriguez at (909) 869-5475, to receive a bid proposal package.
The Trustees require the successful bidder to achieve a minimum goal of 3% DVBE participation in
contracting construction projects as established in the bidding documents or to provide acceptable evidence
of good faith efforts to do so. Bidders shall contact the Trustees' DVBE Coordinator at (909) 869-3391 or

The time period for completion of the overall project is 348 calendar days from Notice to Proceed.
Liquidated damages are $1,000.00/day.
