Drilling Error Words
Students practice, drill, and receive corrective feedback on words
misread following these steps:
1. Student misreads word, records error word/date in “Error Word
Log”.
2. At end of reading session student writes out all error words onto
index cards.
3. Teacher reviews the words on the cards with the student and if
student reads a word correctly or self-corrects, remove card
4. Practice each word with the student; have student repeat each
word then re-read each word card in deck until mastery.
