law went into effect April 22, 2010 for the safe handling of materials that contain lead
paint on all houses built before 1978.

since your house was built before 1978, prior to our beginning work on the project noninvasive XRF (X-Ray Frequency) testing will be done to determine whether or not lead is
present in the painted surfaces that will be disturbed during the renovations. Testing will

of work will be developed that complies with the EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting
law that went into effect April 22, 2010.

the scope of work will vary based upon where lead paint is found. If lead is present in all
of the painted materials that are being disturbed the cost will significantly higher than if
lead is found in only a few items
with the scope of work in hand an AWO (Additional Work Order) for the extra costs will
be presented to the Clients for their signature prior to beginning work on the project
Preparation
remove and properly handle for reinstallation the following existing items:

one (1) layer of existing drywall / plaster from all of the walls and ceilings in the name

Excavation
silt fence erosion control will be installed as per instructions of the local building
inspector
hand dig list no. of piers 12" diameter x 36" deep holes for the deck piers
scrape the top soil from the work area and stock pile it on site to be used again on the
property
dig 24" wide by 36"deep (below ground level) trenches around the outside walls of the
addition
dig a Crawl Space 36” deep below ground level
stock pile the fill dirt on site to be used for back fill
provide and install a 4" perforated drain tile as a perimeter drain around the outside of the
new foundation
backfill around the foundation walls with fill dirt from on site
remove and properly dispose of the extra fill dirt
place a minimum of 4" deep #2B 3/4" clean stone inside the foundation walls
rough grade top soil around the disturbed lawn area for water run off from the building
install a plastic sump pit basin with a lid in the floor of the Crawl Space / Basement
Landscaping
Owners are responsible to remove/relocate all trees, shrubs, bushes and plantings that
they wish to save from the work site area prior to our starting work on the project. We
will do our best not to damage plantings that need to remain close to the work area.
Contractor assumes no responsibility for the health of existing plantings
finish rake and seed the disturbed lawn areas with contractors grade grass seed
Owners are responsible for watering of the seeded areas as needed to achieve growth of
the grass

Note: PL (Poly Lumber) has some unique characteristics:
Recycled materials - PL is made from 100% recycled plastic
Static electricity - upon walking over PL, you will receive a static shock when touching
another person and/or metal, i.e. grille, door knob, chair, table, etc. Static electricity will
dissipate over time and may not be noticeable after the first year following installation.
Expansion & contraction - PL moves with temperature variations, up to 1/8” per 8’ length
of PL board. Openings may appear between boards in colder weather and/or waves or
buckling of the PL material may be noticed in hot weather
Temperature – Be advised that plastic holds heat, which means that PL materials, in
direct sun, may be hot to the touch

If the owners desire to match, as close as possible, some existing stained woodwork that
requires custom color mixing or simply would like to have a custom stain color there will
be an additional charge of $80.00 per color
stained wood work brings out the natural grain and beauty in each piece of wood. Since
wood is a natural product there will be color and grain variations from piece to piece that
is viewed as acceptable for our projects

Ceramic Tile
