assignment on board, tape copies of handouts on board.

Lecture
 Have students sign in and sit at assigned desks, Complete on time assignment.
 8:00-8:15 Introduce yourself and introduce the hand,
 This is a large class and there will be temptations to talk, When I show you
the hand please stop talking and pay attention.
 8:15-8:45 Introduction exercise - Auto-Bi-Poem
a. Have students interview each for 15 minutes then stop the class.
b. Now the students will have a mini quiz- Turn their paper over and write their
partners name and 3 things they learned about them. They have 1 minute and no
talking. Then have the students introduce each other.
i. Say your name, then your partners, wait for me then say the 3 things that
you wrote down.
c. Have student write down 3 questions for the teacher on the notecards. Go Over
 8:45-9:15 Go Over Syllabus and Rules.
 9:15-10:00 Have students work in groups to write “Respect Rules” and share out
 10:00-10:15 – Break
 10:15- 11:15 Sig Codes
o Go over basic sig codes with students. See if they can figure out what the codes
mean. – make Power Point.
 11:15 – 11:45 Show students your website. And quia website - Review How To Study and
tools available
 11:45-12:00 Review Homework.
o Complete Medical Terminology handout.
o Complete First Day Homework.

Lecture
 Intro to Medical Terminology
o Begin lecture about Medical Terminology.
o Half way through lecture pass out medical Term List . Have students work in
groups to try and define the medical terms and come up with answers. Have the
students share their answers. Give Students 15 minutes.
