Chapter 15 Commercials for the New Deal Programs
I.
Your group will need to create a documentary(s) and/or commercial(s) either
in support or in opposition of several of the New Deal programs listed below.
A. First come, first serve (sign up).
B. Try not to wait until the last day, otherwise you might not have enough
time to re-shoot the video and/or edit the video if you have problems.
II.
You can choose to work with one classmate, but make sure someone in the
group has a camcorder to video the project (you can work alone).
A. There can be a maximum of two people in the group.
1. You must create two commercials/documentaries on two
different New Deal programs.
III.
Before you start creating your video(s), you must research the New Deal
programs you chose from the list.
A. The information in the video must be accurate.
B. Just type in each of the programs on a search engine to find more
information and be sure to check your book first.
1. If you’re working with others, give each person in your group a
program to research, and then worry about making the video.
IV.
Audio and Video
A. Make sure the class can clearly hear and see the video, or your groups’
grade will be greatly reduced.
1. Check to make sure the audio and video is crystal clear, and if
not, re-shoot the video (I want t you to get an excellent grade).
a. Utilize Movie Maker (PC), I-Movie (Mac) or any other
user friendly program (Animoto)
2. Each video needs to be at least one minute long, but can be
longer.
V.
Saving your assignment when using Movie Maker
A. Use movie maker or I-movie to edit your video(s) or any other user
friendly program (Animoto)
1. Make sure you save your video properly so it will play on the
teacher’s computer when using Movie Maker on the windows
operating system
a. Windows XP and saving a video made with movie makerClick File and Save Movie File
b. Windows 7 and saving a video made with movie makerClick File and Save Movie
B. Keep the following in mind:
1. The thorough explanation of your topics needs to be found within
your videos.
a. The class needs to know exactly what your programs are
about by watching your videos.
b. Each video can/should be longer than a minute if need be.
2. Creativity is something you really need to think about and work
into your videos.
