REQUIRED TEXT:
Introduction to Operations and Supply Chain Management by Bozarth and
Handfield (ISBN: 0-13-185804-1)
PREREQUISITES:
Admitted to the MBA program.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1. To introduce you to a selection of planning, analysis and control concepts that fall within the
purview of production/operations management.
2. To provide you with a working knowledge of the more popular quantitative models associated with
these concepts.
GRADING:
There will be two hour exams and a number of graded homework assignments. Your course letter grade
will be determined as follows:
A : 90% - 100%
B+: 85% - 89%
B : 80% - 84%
C+: 75% - 79%
C : 70% - 74%
F : Below 70%
Graded Assignments: 30%

COURSE POLICIES:
Assignments: Graded assignments will be handed out in class. You will be expected to complete and
hand in these assignments at the start of the class when the assignment is due. Failure to
complete and hand in these assignments in a timely manner will result in a grade of zero.
Exams:
Two hour exams will be given on the two Fridays of the session. These will be
closed-book and closed-note. However, formulas will be provided. The second exam is
not cumulative.

Attendance:
Since this is a pre-MBA module, class attendance is mandatory. Since our mission is to
educate future professionals, appropriate decorum is expected in class at all time. This
includes having your cell phones turned off and not participating in chitchat while I am
lecturing, while we are discussing material, or while your fellow students are asking or
answering questions. If you have questions on the material that I am presenting, please
ask me during class so that your classmates may also benefit from the answer.
