News releases News releases deal with the many issues the Minnesota Department of Human Services has responsibility for, such as health care, economic assistance and social services for people who do not have the resources to meet their basic needs. They are sent to the news departments of newspapers and television and radio stations across the state. News releases are retained on the DHS website for one year.
