Unilever response re FNV rejoinder 29 July 2009 Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Unilever to respond to a report by FNV Mondiaal and FNV Bondgenoten, “Erratum Annual Report and Accounts: Adding Insecurity to Life”. Unilever provided a response, to which FNV issued a rejoinder. All the relevant materials are available on the following page: http://www.business-humanrights.org/Documents/Unileverreport Business & Human Rights Resource Centre subsequently invited Unilever to add further comments. Unilever sent the following statement: “Unilever has a long track record of operating responsibly and with integrity in the many countries in which we do business. We object to the characterisation of Unilever as portrayed by the FNV. We have prepared an extensive statement in response to the FNV document “Adding Insecurity to Life”. We stand by this statement which fully explains our point of view. This is available on the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre website as well as our own, see: http://www.unilever.com/sustainability/approach/responding-to-our-stakeholders/”
