The Enterprise Network Video Recording System (Enterprise NVR) shall offer the latest in
digital technology, providing stability, reliability, security, and ease of use with advanced
algorithms, fast capture rates at high resolution, and a unique, flexible Graphical User
Interface (GUI).

A.
Manufacturer’s Product Data: Submit manufacturer’s data sheets indicating systems and
components proposed for use, including instruction manuals.
B.
Shop Drawings: Submit complete shop drawings including connection diagrams for
interfacing equipment, list of connected equipment, and locations for major equipment
components.
C.
Record Drawings: During construction maintain record drawings indicating location of
equipment and wiring. Submit an electronic version of record drawings not later than
Substantial Completion of the project.
D.
Operation and Maintenance Data: Submit manufacturer’s operation and maintenance
data, customized to the system installed. Include system and operator manuals.

Field Tests: Submit results of field testing of every device including date, testing personnel,

Manufacturer: Minimum ten years experience in manufacturing and maintaining video
management systems. Manufacturer shall provide toll-free technical assistance and
support available 24/7.

Manufacturing Location: Provide equipment assembled in the United States.

Installer: Minimum two years experience installing similar systems, and acceptable to the
manufacturer of the video management system.
D.
Environmental Conditions: The Honeywell Enterprise Network Video Recording System

A.
Enterprise Network Video Recorder unit shall contain the recording engine, database of all
network-connected cameras, integrated components and their configurations. NVR unit
shall be provided as a combined hardware and software device.
B.
Enterprise workstation shall render video and act as a main human/machine interface.
C.
Enterprise audio/video encoder shall accept analog video input and output MPEG2/MPEG4
and H.264 digital video to the network video recorder units. The audio/video encoder must
be able to work as a standalone unit for audio/video encoding and/or work together with
one or more Enterprise network video recorder units for encoding and recording.
D.
Enterprise RAID array shall store all video data associated with the Enterprise network
video recording system.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A.
Enterprise NVR shall use Alpha technology® and be administered through a single graphical
user interface (GUI). This GUI shall also be replicated for use in remote client locations.
B.
Enterprise system shall be a fully scalable enterprise-class media management system to
enable simultaneous live monitoring from multiple stations and be configurable for storage
both on and off site.
C.
Enterprise NVR software shall be configured to store and to view images captured by any
number of cameras and monitor connections across an unlimited number of units.
D.
Enterprise NVR shall not limit the total volume of recording as a system and shall support
external storage systems over any interface.
E.
Enterprise NVR shall be able to detect the loss of any components connected to it and
trigger an alarm.
F.
The Enterprise NVR unit shall have following major capabilities:
1.
Capable of managing pentaplex user operations of attached recording devices
simultaneously, including live viewing, recording, playback, archiving of video data to
internal or external storage device, PTZ control, and handling the exchange of data
between the unit and a remote workstation.
2.
All video information supplied from all edge devices shall be real time encoded and
transmitted over an IP network simultaneously at resolutions of up to 4CIF and
recording rates of up to 30 Frames per second (fps) NTSC or 25 fps PAL per camera.

Recording of up to 96 synchronized, real-time, 4CIF audio/video channels in MPEG2/
MPEG4 and H.264 simultaneously. The following settings are user configurable for
each channel:

Different frame rates for recording and monitoring cameras.

Brightness, contrast, color.
c.
Adding/updating/removing, refreshing an IP device.

Updating basic device parameters

Manage its storage of audio/video data natively and independently from the
operating system and must be able to extend its volume up to 32 TB without the
need to export and re-import existing data.

Perform additional frame reduction processes to reduce storage requirements.
Beyond one (1) set of digital input and output per audio/video channel, must be able
to extend this ratio natively.
6.
Provide three (3) predefined video quality levels defined by the bitrate for optimal
video quality – economy, normal, and high – and a user-configurable custom level.
7.
Support GOP size of 30 frames for optimal storage usage. The Enterprise NVR shall
also support GOP size of up to 1 frame to improve the video quality in trick modes
(fast forward and fast backward playback) and in high-error network environments.
8.
Internationalization: supports an English-based user interface by default. Must be
able to integrate a new language into the user interface easily by the addition of a
new language file.

Support the following network protocols:

Collection network support: RTP, UDP, TCP, IP, HTTP, RTSP.

Viewing network support: RTP, UDP, TCP, IP.

Perform time synchronization over time zones using any industrial standard time

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1
EXAMINATION
A.

Examine site conditions prior to installation. Notify Architect and Owner in writing if
unsuitable conditions are encountered. Do not start installation until site conditions are
acceptable.
INSTALLATION
A.
Test all components before shipping to the project location
B.
Video management system shall be installed, programmed and tested in accordance with
manufacturer’s installation instructions.
1.
Coordinate interfaces with Owner’s representative where appropriate.
2.
Provide backboxes, racks, connectors, supports, conduit, cable, and wire for a
complete and reliable installation. Obtain Owner’s approval for exact location of all
boxes, conduit, and wiring runs prior to installation.
3.
Install conduit, cable, and wire parallel and square with building lines, including
raised floors areas. Do not exceed forty percent fill in conduits. Gather wires and tie
to create an orderly installation.
4.
Coordinate with other trades to provide proper sequencing of installation.

FIELD COMMISSIONING AND CERTIFICATION

Field Commissioning: Test video management system as recommended by manufacturer,
including the following:
1.
Conduct complete inspection and testing of equipment, including verification of
operation with connected equipment.
2.
Test devices and demonstrate operational features for Owner’s representative and
authorities having jurisdiction as applicable.
3.
Correct deficiencies until satisfactory results are obtained.
4.
Submit written copies of test results.
TRAINING
A.
Conduct on-site system administrator and security/surveillance operator training, with the
number of sessions and length of sessions as recommended by the video management
system manufacturer. Training shall include administration, provisioning, configuration,
operation and diagnostics.
