Process Pipe Drafting is a write-in text that covers the fundamental concepts and techniques
used to construct accurate piping drawings. The text starts by introducing the components
of piping systems and then shows how to put the components together to create the various
types of drawings used in the industry. These drawings are presented in the same sequence
as produced by engineering firms. Review questions, print reading exercises, and drawing
problems are included in each chapter.
t “Real-world” instruction in laying out process pipe components and systems is provided.
t Appropriate for students new to the trade, as well as experienced pipe fitters, welders,

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing ©2013, 9th Edition
by David A. Madsen and David P. Madsen
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing provides thorough coverage of GD&T practices, as established
by the ASME Y14.5-2009 standard. Topics are organized in a logical sequence, allowing students to progress
from basic concepts, such as understanding symbols on existing drawings and calculating the tolerances
for proper size and location of features, to more advanced applications. Color is used throughout the text to
emphasize callouts and labels separately from the symbols and text of each drawing.
t Concepts are presented in a user-friendly manner to ensure that students build the
foundational knowledge they need to understand GD&T.
t Numerous print reading and drafting problems are included to provide students with
experience while reinforcing learning.
t End-of-chapter print reading exercises are based on actual industry drawings.

Modern Cabinetmaking
NEW
©2016, 5th Edition
by William D. Umstattd, Charles W. Davis, and Patrick A. Molzahn
Modern Cabinetmaking is a comprehensive text that focuses on the techniques
used by custom cabinetmakers and home woodworkers. While still providing
classic coverage, the text has been thoroughly revised to include the latest in
technology, materials, and processes such as Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC)
Machinery, 32 mm system construction, ready-to-assemble casework, and grinding
and sharpening. This edition includes many new photos and diagrams showing
updated technology and techniques. A chapter on employment introduces students
to the careers related to cabinetmaking skills, and a chapter discussing industrial
organizations helps students learn how to get more involved.
t The text and workbook correlate to Woodwork Career Alliance standards,
ensuring that students gain the skills they need to be successful in the industry.
t Content is organized in a logical sequence, teaching students the design and
construction process in a step-by-step manner.
t Three new chapters have been added for this edition—Cabinetmaking Industry
Overview, CNC Machinery, and Sharpening—to support student learning of the
latest standards, technology, and techniques.

©2017
by J.P. Hancock, Don W. Edgar, Michael L. Pate, Lori A. Dyer, and W. Brian Hoover
Agricultural Mechanics and Technology Systems presents focused, technically
accurate coverage of all major skilled trade disciplines in agricultural contexts,
including construction, electricity, welding, and power systems. In addition, the text
provides a wealth of information and resources on careers in agricultural mechanics
and promotes a deep understanding of supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs)
and FFA Career Development Events. Agricultural Mechanics and Technology
Systems has been designed to support the Power, Structural, and Technical Systems
Career Pathway within the National AFNR Career Cluster Content Standards and has
been correlated with selected state standards.
t The chapter Trends and Emerging Technologies introduces students to the many
high-tech applications of agriculture and agricultural mechanics, including
geographic information systems (GIS), telematics, sustainable energy sources,
precision agriculture, wireless sensor networks, and the use of drones.
t A chapter on safety and extensive “Safety Notes” cultivate a safety-first mindset
and drive home the point that safe work habits are needed in every domain of
agricultural mechanics and technology.
t Reading and writing skills are developed by the careful definition and use of
technical terms, by “Before You Read” guidance provided at the start of every
chapter, and by “Communicating about Ag Mechanics” exercises at the end of
every chapter.
t “Hands-on Agriculture” and “STEM and Academic Activities” provide engaging,
inquiry-based learning activities for students and provide a bridge between theory
and practice.
t To highlight safe, correct, and current practices, high-quality photographs and line
art accompany text descriptions on nearly every page of the text.

Introduction to Video Game Design is a fun and easy text-software design guide combination
that uses an activity-based integrated curriculum: game-theory reading with game-building
application lessons. It supports cross-curricular and STEM learning as students use math and
science principles, in addition to language arts, social sciences, and applied technology knowledge,
to develop their own games. No knowledge of programming or game design is needed.
t It allows the addition of a game unit into existing classes, after-school clubs, or competitiveevent preparation.

Journalism
Publishing Across Media ©2016
by Janet Ewell, Michelle Balmeo, Ellen Austin, and Randy Hamm
Journalism: Publishing Across Media teaches the principles, practices, and styles used in
traditional and new media. It explains core journalism concepts in a student-friendly way to
high school learners in first-year Journalism and Communication programs. In contrast to other
journalism texts, this text stresses the importance of telling stories through visual and audio
elements, as well as the written and spoken word. The chapters are divided into teachable
sections that include opportunities for students to process and apply what they have read.
Examples of student and professional work accompany the text.

Charting Your Career Interest Inventory is a hands-on career exploration tool for use in the classroom
or independently. It asks students to rank their interest in 160 career-oriented activities. Scoring the
responses allows students to identify their top three career areas, or clusters, for exploration. The
recommended courses, skills, and occupations related to each career cluster are provided for student
review. Resources for career research are also included to help students begin making educated
decisions about their futures.
t Color-coded columns allow for easy scoring and support visual learning.
t The Recommended Courses and Skills provided for each cluster allows students to plan for the future
by identifying the courses they need to take and skills they need to develop.
t Statements used in the inventory are backed by extensive research using the O*NET
Database, the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Outlook Handbook, and other
government sources.
