CREDIT RECOVERY PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Credit Recovery Solution includes prescriptive pretests to identify what a student has learned previously and areas of deficiency for each unit of content. An individual learning plan is automatically generated based on each unit pretest results. The credit recovery online courses are not NCAA approved. NCAA requires students to complete all activities within a course. IVS uses Rolling Enrollment for the Credit Recovery Solution. Rolling Enrollment is different from the Flexible Enrollment Terms due to the fact that students can be enrolled at any time. The student’s enrollment date becomes the enrollment Start Date. The End Date will be 10 weeks from the Start Date. September 15th will be the first day to enroll students for the 2014-15 school year. Each course has an Illinois certified instructor acting as the course manager responsible for 1) Grading • Identified teacher scored unit assignments • Teacher scored tests 2) Completing the student with either a P (Pass) or F (Fail). IVS recommends that a student has successfully completed the course by earning a minimum overall score of 60% AND completing all graded items prescribed by pretest. Please note: Students have 10 weeks to successfully complete the course. Students unable to meet the above recommendations may re-enroll for an additional 10 weeks ($70). Ongoing support for the student (instructional and access) will be determined by the local school. REQUIREMENTS Students have 10 weeks from enrollment date to complete the course. In order to earn credit, students must • • Complete all graded items prescribed by pretest results; Earn a minimum overall score of 60% based on graded assignments*. COST Each credit recovery course is $70 per semester with 10 weeks to complete. The Credit Recovery Solution does not have a two week grace period. IVS will invoice schools monthly for the previous month’s enrollments. Students may re-enroll in a course for an additional 10 weeks ($70) if more time is needed. Practice exercises are not graded but provide students with an opportunity to check their understanding. Key Activities* are teacher graded activities submitted to the teacher using the Message Center in the course. Quizzes* are computer graded and are used as a checking point for understanding. Students have three opportunities to earn a minimum score of 70%. If a student is unable to earn 70%, the student will contact IVS requesting the quiz be reset. Once the quiz is reset, an email will be sent to notify the student, guardian, and school that the student has one final opportunity to take the quiz and is encouraged to seek help before taking the quiz again. The score earned on the 4th attempt will be added to the grade book and the student will be allowed to move forward. Tests* are graded and required for all students at the end of each unit.
