Product
Rolls-Royce is probably best
known for aero engines that
power many of the world’s most
advanced passenger jets. Its Trent family of
engines is also a leader in power for modern
widebody aircraft. In civil aerospace, RollsRoyce powers commercial aircraft, from
business jets to the largest airliners. A fleet of
almost 13,000 engines is currently in service.
The Group remains the second largest
provider of defence aero-engine products
and services globally with 16,000 engines
currently in the service. Its engines power
aircraft in every major sector including:
transport; combat; patrol; trainers; helicopters;
and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
In the marine market, its products include
established names such as Kamewa,
Ulstein, Aquamaster and Brown Brothers
which, together with a strong focus on
research and development, have made
Rolls-Royce a pioneer of many important
technologies, including aero-derivative
marine gas turbines, controllable pitch
propellers and water jets. The company
is also a world leader in the design of
offshore support vessels.
In the power systems market, Rolls-Royce is
a world-leader in high-speed reciprocating
engines, propulsion and distributed
