Assistant Director for Annual Giving The Office of Institutional Advancement at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh announces the position of Assistant Director for Annual Giving. SUNY College at Plattsburgh is currently in the silent phase of a seven-year comprehensive campaign. This position will contribute significantly to meeting the priorities and goals of the campaign from its public initiation through its completion in 2012. Successful candidates must be committed to the mission, vision and fundraising priorities of SUNY College at Plattsburgh. Through fundraising from private sources, the Office of Institutional Advancement seeks to increase the financial resources available to the College to continue and further create superb student life programs and services, and to prepare students for careers, citizenship, and leadership. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience with comparable knowledge and skills is required. The successful candidate will have proven communication and computer skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; be a team player with the capacity to handle a wide range of relationships and situations; be results-oriented; and be willing to work a flexible schedule to complete job responsibilities. Experience working with Banner and in a university setting is preferred. Responsibilities include: Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, this position implements a strategic plan for telemarketing, direct mail, and special initiatives for annual gift fundraising to benefit SUNY-Plattsburgh and serve as a member of an integrated development team. Responsibilities include planning and aggressively implementing campus phonathons; recruiting, training, and supervising student callers; supporting phonathon through direct-mail publications; timely follow-up to questions and concerns generated from phonathon activities; and administering specialized Annual Fund campaigns and programs. This position will incorporate testing and analysis of direct mail and telemarketing; keep, analyze, and produce accurate records and reports and monitor effectiveness of programs to ensure growth in all annual giving initiatives. Responsibilities will also include attendance at campus and department events and be dedicated to professional growth and building strong professional networks.
